Serving temperature affects all beers. Should a Coors and moretti be served at the same temperature as Guinness? It mutes all aroma and flavours, THATS why lads are able to sink pints of Guinness fast. If the pints were warmer by 2-4°c you wouldn't see them as popular.
You lost me at Brewdog. Such an awful company. I went into their place in Bristol and it is not in an expensive area and after ordering I had to take out another mortgage to cover the cost. They are all hype and no bollocks.
What is your opinion on Guinness in the bottle? I'm sure you've talked about this before, but I honestly have just thought of this in my head as I was watching this video, thanks.
Camera is focussing just fine, it's just not focussing where you want it to, understanding the focusing mode you're using and how to control depth of field with the lens aperture helps you to control this and get the shot to look exactly as you want it to, sorry it's what happens when a photographer watches a review video! 🤣 I haven't had Black Heart on draught yet, but at home I prefer it to Guinness, and I don't keep it in the fridge either as if it's too cold you get less head and flavour, so right now I keep it in a brick shed in my garden which isn't heated so nice and cool inside like a cellar.
I’m with you on the microbrew thing. They’re too boozy and too hoppy. Too progressive as well. Heartless. Give me a dimly lit bar with low ceilings, plastered walls, a dog laying by the hearth, a fiddler in the corner, and as always, fresh Guinness.
Gotta shop around mate, there's plenty of craft breweries that absolutely nail the classic beer styles. I'm with you in that I don't really like most of these modern double IPAs, imperial stouts, sour beers etc, that have turned the flavour and alcohol level up to 11, but there are breweries out there producing understated but excellent craft beer, would recommend Moor Beer Co myself.
Wild to say but I'm from a suburb lying just north of Detroit, Michigan. Baffin Brewing Company, fantastic porters and stouts, dog encouraged place, cozy on the water. Proud to say we have that here in the states.
@@rossyoung8892 I’m no stranger to the craft beer scene. I’m from Southern California, the place that arguably started this modern craft beer craze, and I can tell you, it’s become a Frankenstein’s monster. When the scene was up and coming about 15 years ago, it had heart and was truly about the craft. The scene has sold out and is all about pushing the limits by adding coffee beans, cocoa nibs, peanut butter, berries, bananas, chili peppers, hot sauce, maple syrup, whiskey, candy etc. to the beer, and of course, copious amounts of hops. Plus the gastro pubs and breweries all have a left-leaning/hipster culture built-in. I also see it in much of Guinnesses marketing nowadays. It’s atrocious. If Guinness isn’t careful, they’re going to ruin a brand that’s taken 264 years to establish. They need to quit pandering to everyone in the world and just let people come to Guinness for the same reason they’ve been going to Guinness for 264 years, because it’s tasty and it’s Irish. Just leave well enough alone.
@@renaissanceman9168 don't disagree with anything you've said, the craft beer scene has become too big for its own good and with so many breweries competing for a place in the beer market, they've all started brewing "beers" that are so far removed from what a beer should be that it's hard to see how you can even call it beer (don't get me started on the flavouring adjuncts, the last cherry, coconut, oatmeal stout I had was so bad it went down the drain). But I do think it's worth remembering that craft beer wasn't always like this, and was once about producing great quality beer that was brewed with care and passion, in contrast to bland, cheap and uninspiring macro beer market. There are still breweries achieving this level of craft beer, you just have to look for them as they're probably not the ones vying for your attention through marketing gimmicks and obnoxious flavour combos.
Prefer it on hand pump, some Greene King houses in the UK sell it as it's part of their group. Tins don't have a Guinness type "widget" in them but I've just had 24 tins an was a bit disapointed as not all the "widgets" they use went off?

Serving temperature affects all beers. Should a Coors and moretti be served at the same temperature as Guinness? It mutes all aroma and flavours, THATS why lads are able to sink pints of Guinness fast. If the pints were warmer by 2-4°c you wouldn't see them as popular.
Guinness hits my sensitive teeth
You lost me at Brewdog. Such an awful company. I went into their place in Bristol and it is not in an expensive area and after ordering I had to take out another mortgage to cover the cost. They are all hype and no bollocks.
And why are all these microbreweries all called “___ dog”. Buncha tools
Agreed I had two pints of Brehon Brewhouse Ulster Black Oatmeal stout at 5% ABV on cask lovely simple beer.
Great video, you had me laughing so much!
Bought a 4 pack of these at the supermarket. It was terrible. Maybe i need to try it on draught but not sure I’m ready to risk it
Probably the best review in the world, thus far.
I’m surprised he said gunnness only use hop extract? Surly not ? If your drinking a beer you would expect hops to be in it at least
Can you do a series of Dublin pint series?
He said a lot of pubs over here in the UK Don't stock Guiness?? i have never been in a pub over here that doesn't .... WTF??
You need to get to anspach and hobday and get a pint of london black. It's the king of stouts!
He went a few months ago and did a video.
What is your opinion on Guinness in the bottle? I'm sure you've talked about this before, but I honestly have just thought of this in my head as I was watching this video, thanks.
Think he tried some around lockdown 2020 i think. He hated it i think 😂
@@Welshhomie He didn’t like it
I actually don't mind drinking Black Heart. I couldn't have a session on it because it's too smokey on the taste bud, but it is very drinkable.
Whatever about brew dog... Paul seems like a good man to have a pint with
I was actually in there on Saturday to compare it to Guinness in Dublin, it is nowhere near as good as Guinness and I’m a craft beer drinker
Agreed Brewdog put more money to stunts than brewing and paying staff
Camera is focussing just fine, it's just not focussing where you want it to, understanding the focusing mode you're using and how to control depth of field with the lens aperture helps you to control this and get the shot to look exactly as you want it to, sorry it's what happens when a photographer watches a review video! 🤣 I haven't had Black Heart on draught yet, but at home I prefer it to Guinness, and I don't keep it in the fridge either as if it's too cold you get less head and flavour, so right now I keep it in a brick shed in my garden which isn't heated so nice and cool inside like a cellar.
This beer may very well replace guiness in UK, a preferable alternative.
There's loads of stouts better than Guinness
Stouts shouldn't be. Hoppy. That's ipa neipa etc
For a craft stout you should get roasty notes not hops
Tasted it tonight. It's like FA. Guinness has nothing to worry about
Got to hit this place on my next stop in Dublin.
Tried this in the Waterloo Brewdog, apart from the soulless airport terminal atmosphere the stout was pretty poor and expensive.
Try Anspach & Hobday London Black - the fact Brewdog brought this out now can't be a coincidence. Come over, try it.
He’s reviewed it a while ago look back on previous videos 🙏🏽
Hey from Canada...nothing like a pint of Guinness in Dublin...i miss it
3:29 That table top has more abrasive wear than my lower intestine.
Another great upload however your cameras focus was way off. Either way, keep up the great work brother.
Working on it
Get yourself over to Round Corner Brewing in Melton Mowbray. Their Reverend Hooker, Irish nitro stout is on point. 👌🏼
Heading there to try one….or two 🤠
"A pint of plain is your only man." --- Flann O'Brien
You need to try Belhaven Black next
Prefer it on hand pump, some Greene King houses in the UK sell it as it's part of their group. Tins don't have a Guinness type "widget" in them but I've just had 24 tins an was a bit disapointed as not all the "widgets" they use went off?
Agree re craft beer , tastes like perfume to me !! A nice Czech beer or stout all day long , top review
I really like this. Like Guinness but with a bit more flavour. I say bring on the competition for Guinness. Cans are already way too expensive
Craft beers wouldn't be my thing but yeah, it's nice to have a decent option there.
Tried one for the first time in Birmingham a few days ago, would drink Murphys b4 black heart all day long & wouldn't drink Murphys ahead of Guinness or Beamish ever.
Not tried this black heart, but all other brewdog beers taste identical (crap) only one that was ok was the elvis juice one but could only tackle a few cans at most of them.
Nothing is better than Guinness.
Disagree
agreed
Going to Cork at end of march for a christening can you recommend a pub?
The thomond bar is always a good busy atmosphere, Larry Tompkins if you want a nice quiet drink
Mutton lane or the Oval.
@@thehairysnot8069 Larry's doesn't exist anymore I'm afraid. It's now 'Crack Jennys'
