Wow this was amazing. So great to see you on your beloved AT. I’m so excited to hit that section. I absolutely agree with you about the green tunnel and the trail in general. Views are great, don’t get me wrong but wildflowers and just being in the forest gets me every time. Now you have to do another AT thru hike so you can vlog it. Would love to see that 😉. Great video. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
It's an amazing section - you will love it! Highly recommend in the spring when the wildflowers are popping - especially up on Dragon's Tooth. And heck yeah gimme the green tunnel any day! Don't tempt me bahaha - I'm trying to be responsible member of society over here! ;)
Wow did you just do this after trail days? My sister, that you meet, and I are planning to do that exact loop this fall. My be in october. Thanks, lovely video as usual.
Awesome video!! I will be doing this loop in about a week! With McAfee knob parking closed, were you able to park at dragons tooth for two nights? Thank you!
Thank you! That’s where most people say they park but I was confused because I’ve also read you’re not supposed to park overnight there. But I wasn’t sure how much they enforce that. I saw you can also park overnight at the Andy Layne lot.
Yes on my way down to Trail Days. I had a wedding in Maryland the weekend before so went from there to do some hiking in Virginia before Trail Days. I think you will really enjoy this loop!
@@igorn7648 All three! Though if you want to shorten the hike, you could do so with two cars, parking one at the Andy Layne trailhead and the other at the Dragon's Tooth trailhead. That would cut off about 11 or 12 miles.
@@igorn7648 Oh gotcha! This would be a decent starter backpacking trip, because it's pretty popular (you will see other people around) and you hit a few road crossings, so if something happened and you needed to bail, there is the ability to do that. You got this!
Isn't this a repeat from 6 years ago? Good hike and video. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
Only half the trail! :)
Absolutely great video. Can't wait to get back there this fall
Thank you! Happy Trails! 😄

Yep, no issues parking in the Dragon’s Tooth parking lot. Have fun!
Nice! This is definitely on my list!
Currently reading your book and enjoying it! 😊
Aww yay so glad you’re enjoying it!
I loved your video. I’m heading there soon. Where’s the best place to park overnight?
@@nathankreis Thank you! Right now with the McAfee lot closed I’d say the Dragon’s Tooth lot

@@nathankreis Oh I never heard that and didn’t see any signs. But yes Andy Layne also seemed totally fine.
You said before Trail Days. Some of the audio did not come across well on my computer.

I agree with you on micro views. Way too under rated
Way too underrated!!
What, no handstands on top of Dragons Tooth 😳🤣
Hahaha I'm really not looking to fall off a cliff or mess up my back further ;)
Was it worth it
Yes, but if you're asking that, I think our perspectives are pretty different. This was a short, fairly easy backpacking trip in my book.
@@AudreyAdventures do you recommend all three or just the McAfee?

@@AudreyAdventures I would probably do it all by myself. I’ve just never done a hike that long or really any long hikes at all.
