- 👋 When I was just 11 years old the Lamborghini Gallardo was introduced to the world. That point in time I told myself I'd buy one at some point. 18 years later, here is my 2014 Gallardo LP550-2 and I truly think it is the coolest and best modern classic supercar available! There is no other old school supercar that drives like this! Even with an over 20 year old platform and design, the last year Gallardo still offers modern touches to make this a very usable car. Today let's take a full look at one of the final Lamborghini Gallardos ever produced! This is my 204 Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Coupe. My car was one of the last 200 examples produced and is a lower volume rear wheel drive version. Finished in Bianco Monocerus over the Nero leather interior and the Scorpius wheels, this Gallardo is an amazing spec! I've also added the Superleggera style carbon fiber rear wing as well as the exhaust tips for a bit extra style. The interior has some upgraded options like red piping and stitching, perforated leather on the lower dash, seats and door inserts. The Gallardo packs a 5.2L naturally aspirated V10 pushing about 550 horsepower with the rear wheel drive setup. My car features the 6 speed E-Gear transmission which is a hydraulically actuated manual transmission via the steering column mounted paddle shifters. The Gallardo LP550 has a razor sharp style with bold lines and that classic wedge shape. The grey color on the wheel matches well to the carbon fiber wing and I love the contrast with the red brake calipers to match the subtle red accents. Even the interior of the final few Gallardos has some nice modern touches like a back up camera, HomeLink garage door buttons, center cup holder and navigation. I love driving the Gallardo. There is plenty of power from the engine and it pulls so smooth and hard up to triple digit speeds. The transmission is very aggressive and mechanical and kicks you in the back between gear changes. Such a raw car to drive with a lot of unique character. The drama with driving a Gallardo is what really stands out. Unlike any other car and I love how it's always a sense of occasion to pilot the Lamborghini Gallardo. The V10 also sounds amazing! Such a cool blend of Italian Supercar in a modern style. I don't care what anybody says. They'd love to drive it, and definitely own it. Even as a weekend toy. That's why Ferruccio Lamborghini started it in 1963.. My perfect would be a Cobra. ( Mike drove one for a review,) but please do a video at a Cars & coffee please!

Definitely agree with the 'don't want to drive it all the time' sentiment. I see my gallardo as a zip code car; it's so loud and rough that I don't take it out with my wife during weekends, we have much more comfortable cars to use...that's why I've only put 3k miles on it in 1 year lol

Nice! Fun car for sure I bet! I had the chance to drive a manual pre LP. But the clutch was slipping so bad, I couldn't even move the car. In 1st gear with the clutch fully out it just idled. Other than that I bet it's fun. Probably similar to my brothers manual R8

That’s another $30k on top of my car. Plus I’ve only seen one pop up in the last year. Had 50k miles and they wanted $160k. Too many miles and out of budget. Plus the bucket seats are incredibly uncomfortable.

Keep working towards it! A nice first gen Gallardo can be had around $85k. Not really that crazy. Budget well and you'll be there in no time!
I purchased an 04 because it is a 20byear old classic italian super car * hands down the best bang 4 your $. Maybe I'll be wrong but in a world of hybrid and EV supercars I see values rising in years 2 come on tje NA cars. Nothing screams quit like a straight piped 5.0 V10 🎶🎵
Nice! Yeah I'm seeing a ton of speculation about these V10 cars going up! Especially now since the Huracan replacement will be a V8 twin turbo hybrid. So these should do well for us! Love mine too!

Agreed , perfect modern classic! One question thou, does yours have the carbon ceramic brakes? When close up of calipers and wheels, looked like one piece steel rotors . We’re carbon ceramic even an option on them at that time?
No carbon ceramics on mine. I think only the Superleggera, Squadra Corsa and other 'lightweight' version got those brakes standard.

The only thing I still worry about with even 2009+ up is the eGear (granted if you dont have a gated version) I hear the Huracan's are much more reliable when it comes to a comparison between the 2009+ gallardos.

Overall the Huracan is a bulletproof car. Gallardos are pretty solid. The E-Gear for the most part is reliable on the 2009+ cars. Clutch life is about 40k-50k miles depending on driving habits and the E-Gear hydraulic pump would be the thing to wear out outside of the clutch. I hardly see people have that issue pop up though with these. And a clutch job is about $5k. My car at 17k miles had a clutch inspection and it was at 70% life remaining. So These are pretty solid overall and don't need too much more attention than the Huracan

First, to correct you, the last Gallardo left the assembly line on 25 November 2013. Hence, it is 2013, not a 2014. 2014 was the introduction year of the Huracan.
Yes production ended in 2013. However the last batch of cars are 2014 model year vehicles at least in the USA. The Huracan started production as a 2015 model year.
Agee 1000% with the Gallardo, love the R8 V10 also , v8 Aston vantage Manuel, Doug demero just reviewed one , its on my fav cars list of the 2000s , manual rwd Ferrari v8 or v12

Work towards your goals and enjoy what you have. I spent 18 years saving up to buy this car. So just depends on what you want and what you chose to spend you money on. I pack a lunch every day, have an old cell phone, only drink water, and all my clothes are off the clearance rack. Doing that for nearly two decades adds up and made this car no big deal. So just do what works for you ;)

Yeah whatever works for you! My brother loves his R8. Great car. However both cars hold their respective values. So either car you'd buy, can always sell it for what you paid. So it's not really a difference in spending money. It's just putting money in the car during your ownership or having money elsewhere for other things. The G was my childhood dream car, so I wasn't too concerned about the price. It fit buy budget and my taste perfect.

yeah I think the Gallardo is one of the best in this class! I think it's adding much better then the 430 and has more to offer
