Oh, it's definitely frozen Robert. What I'm showing right now are still hunts from December. I've got enough to get me through February, but if it doesn't thaw soon, will have to dig deep into the vault. We haven't had hardly any snow here in DSM though this winter. Thanks for watching!
My wife and I are enjoying your videos. We came to metal detecting south of Kansas City in our 70's, so are somewhat limited. I lived and worked in northeast Iowa for 30 years, and as with all Iowans, it seems, have relatives in Des Moines! 😏
You didn't give much attention to the metal box with $100 bill features on the front. Reproducing US currency is a federal crime. Could this have had something to do with counterfeiting? A very interesting, and possibly important find!
Tom, thanks for the commenting and really appreciate you and your wife enjoying the channel. I was born in DSM, however, moved at age 2 and didn't live in Iowa again until HS graduation. Came back to the CR area in '83 and moved back to DSM in '08. As for the $100 bill, your right, I didn't have much video of it and it was just a short part of this week's overall video. The size is only actually about 1/3 of an actual bill and it is a pendant worn on a necklace. The area I was detecting is close to downtown where that sort of "bling" jewelry would be very common. Unfortunately, not nearly as exciting as your conjecture. Would love to dig up something related to counterfeiting though. Just don't catch me with it, LOL.
