    And let me add that both of you are awesome, and that your videos, especially this series on Bansko, are eye-opening.

    Loved the village stroll! Thanks! Without top notch internet, it is a deal-breaker for me. I'm assuming if Bansko is popular with nomads, that this is not a problem? Any feedback on internet? (Sorry... I jumped the gun a bit... I went on to watch your most excellent video on Co-working and Nomad Life! Bravo! Thanks!

    You're absolutely right about Americans yearning for a walking culture. I've lived in cities such as Atlanta, Tampa, Dallas and LA where we were slaves shackled behind the wheel of our cars, stuck in endless traffic. Now living in NYC and walking is ideal, when not being attacked with a machete or pushed in front of a subway car. And paying sky high prices for the privilege. A small European village sounds perfect to me.

      Thanks for commenting, the car culture may be great for some, but we really enjoy strolling through these European towns.

    Yes, but we would like to hear more from Julie, including maybe a few videos that she conducts. I know Julie is a little shier, but it would be nice variety to see her take the helm on some tours, interviews, etc. She's a smart, warm, caring person, so I am a little perplexed as to why you focus on her (no doubt obvious) physical beauty when you comment about her. Clearly she has a lot more to contribute than affable sidekick.

      Lol, I’d like you to hear more from her too. She has done a couple videos where she takes the lead regarding the car in Europe and pet travel. In the upcoming videos we’ve completed for ILTV she has a more equal roll. Unfortunately this started out as my hobby and she warmed up to participating in it over time, but still prefers for me to do the camera, editing, narration etc.
      Julie appreciated the comment and said she’ll try to jump in more often.

    Couldn't see alot but cheers for the chat about Bansko. I would prefer accommodation close to old town not ski lifts I believe.

      Being near to the old town I think is best if you plan to live in it, especially from May through November.

    I have investigated buying in Bansko and the one thing that could be a deal breaker for me as a nature lover is the air quality. You could actually see the haze at the beginning of the video and a cloud of haze is often visible when you look down on the village from the ski runs. People burn woods pellets in the winter for heat which are of questionable quality and apparently less clean that real wood. What was your impression of the air quality?

      @@feodor24 There are millions of Americans -- retirees mostly, who struggle to make ends meet. So I don't think anyone is confusing this with St. Moritz or Monaco. But renting a nice unit for $300 range is no longer possible in the US as you probably know.

    • @feodor24

      @@montgomeryclark7531 yes I know, but my point is that there is a lot of things to consider before moving from places such as the US to Bulgaria or Turkey, even if you are retired and poor. This includes mediocre to poor public transportation, medicine, quality of services, food etc., not to mention being a stranger (or should I say, a walking ATM), having no one to chat with in your native language, etc. You only see one side of the coin in these videos, there is so many important things left uncovered.

      We are actually going to do a video about smog we encountered in Turkey. We haven’t noticed or perceived air quality as an issue in Bansko, we have found mentions in the past. Here is a site of interest to look at air quality by map.waqi.info/

      You don’t get residency in Bulgaria for home ownership. Here’s a residency video, try not to laugh at the optics caused by the triangle office and low sofa.

      Lol, you won't get a residency if you buy property, otherwise it will be flooded with people from third world countries buying some cheap village toilets just so they can get a European passport. Bulgarian passport is one of the toughest you can get, people live here for years, own properties and still are not eligible for a Bulgarian passport.

      That’s possible, I haven’t noticed a lot of Ukrainians here however. Not to say there aren’t any, when we we’re here in October in the off season it was pretty dead and it seems they would have been easier to identify then.

    I am actually quite puzzled why you haven't mentioned the evening smog. Maybe in Antalya they do not do that that much, but in nearby towns (I have been to Manavgat and Side) they burn some stinky firewood all through the evenings and nights because they are freezing at +17C lol. They also begin wearing coats when the temperature is as low as +19C (which is totally crazy if you ask me). Also, would be nice if you could tell your viewers about how their prices become x3-x4 for you only because you're a foreigner (it would be especially interesting for US and European retirees who are delusional enough to consider moving to these parts). And also about how almost no one speaks English, about their crazy driving habits, laziness, lack of punctuality etc. etc. etc. In other words, give us the whole picture please.

    • @WarrenJulieTravel
      @WarrenJulieTravel  Рік тому +1

      I believe we give the whole picture if you watch all our videos. We give our experiences and share the experiences of other expats. Regarding air quality along Turkey’s coast it’s been pleasant. We drove through the inner portion of Turkey on our way to Bulgaria and had several hundred miles of smog, which is a topic of a video we are going to make. Smog like we haven’t seen before especially outside Izmir. We so far haven’t had or noticed issues in Bansko, having been to the Smokey Mountains I recognize the haze as being mist but potentially it from heating. We can ask around. If you think we’re sugar coating you obviously haven’t watched our channel much. Regarding inflation in Turkey yes we covered it.

    • @feodor24
      @feodor24 Рік тому

      @@WarrenJulieTravel Just to clarify: yes, I am talking about the smog that comes from heating, not some industrial or natural smog (i.e. from wood fires such as those they had in 2021). These strange people are freezing at +17C and prefer to breath smoke and have their clothes stink; all expats I discussed this issue with totally hate it. It is a huge problem in towns with no centralized gas supply (which is 99% of Turkey). And no, I am not claiming that you are sugar coating everything but I feel like there are some other things which must be covered in more detail. Such as that you'd need to use the gesture language to communicate with the locals because 99% of them are poorly educated and do not speak English (even school students, which was very surprising for me; compare this to, say, Israel, where 99% of the population are able to speak good English). About x3-x4 prices - no, you did not quite understand me. It is not about the inflation, it is about the locals immediately identifying you as a foreigner (aka a walking ATM), so they tell you x3-x4 of their normal price. This applies to food markets, haircuts, etc etc etc. This is so damned gross, I ducking hate it.
