- Let’s be honest: We’re all waiting for the GTI and R versions of the new Golf, aren’t we? However, they won’t be around until late 2020 or early 2021.
Until then, we took the chance to have a look at the brand new Golf MK8 with the 1.5 TSI motorization to see if it’s a worthy successor to the Golf MK7.
We managed to increase the performance to 180 HP, which is an impressive improvement over stock and this also lays down in the acceleration times from 100 - 200 km/h.
Watch our latest video to see our tuning process and our opinion on the new VW Golf MK8.

RaceChip is a brilliant possibility to increase the performance of a lot of diesel and fuel driven vehicles with only little effort.
This is yielded by a reasonable mixture of excess performance, increase in torque and fuel savings. The best of all: If your driving behaviour remains the same, the service life of your motor will even be as long as in serial condition.
Proven a thousand times with a long experience: That's RaceChip.

The Mk7.5 looks the best
The turbo on the 1.5 TSI is very weak. If you plan on chiptuning your car, prepare to change the turbo in a few years,
Yeah nice but have a look at skoda kodiaq vrs . It needs a proper tune
Hello, I have a 2021 Seat Leon 1.5 tsi 131cv with a GTS and an XLR and I couldn't be happier, I totally recommend it
Yeahh.. i know.. Somone tel ist toyota avensis...Thats way i still love seat... from VAG group!!!
Can you test a Mini Cooper S or a Mini Cooper SD
Did I understand correctly the chart: the stock engine power for the 96kW version is 150HP, and the wheel power 120HP which is lower than the VW rated 130HP? Also would this sort of chiptuning affect the turbine which is supposed to be working at a lower temperature compared to the 110kW version?
Don’t waste your money on racechip,I had one on my mk7 golf, made the car go in to limp mode,it’s fine unless you rev over 4 thousand rpm, trust me,look at the reviews on this racechip, you will find thousands of bad reviews, costumer service is not interested in what happens after you pay the money, wait for a company to develop a real map for the car if you are interested in this car,the chips are a waste of money
I have the mk8 a week and she is fast, I've drove mk5 6 7 and 8, the others are sportier yes. But mine you feel like your floating on air, and she has good clutch control etc. I'm not complaining 😁 but I do miss the golfs
Nice video guys as usual. Interesting to see how far it has evolved. Black definitely looks better because it covers the ugliness 😂 5seconds off is top!
Like the beginning intro as usual. 👌 the interior looks better.
I wonder if that would work on Skoda Scala with the exact same 1.5 VW TSI rngine
nice video
Will this have any problems working with the etsi 150bhp?
Nice!
Can you do a 1.5tsi cupra formentor tune vid pls. You’d make a lot of sales if us owners had more info for this car! Thanks x
is this engine equip with dual injection ?
How much is the chip in £ and is it easy to fit ?
2019 Leon FR with 1.5 tsi and it is the 150hp variant. For me it is good but damn it lacks horsepower. Thinking about mapping it just to get it to 200 so it pulls even better since I am living where you have big inclines.
Nice video, do you know which gearbox does it have, it is the same like in new seat leon mild hybrid? In case of maximum limits of torque when chiptuning. Thanks
