As someone who lived in Idaho, I woud love to say something about Lewiston! I lived in the small town of Kamiah just about an hour and 30 minutes away. I fell in love with Lewiston and wished we could have moved there instead of Kamiah but that was not to be< I loved going to lewiston to buy our groceries and other things, Lewiston was so quaint and the people of the area were always so nice and helpful! I found there wasn't much they didn't have. And like you said Clarkston was just across the river. I never worried about anything there. even the traffic was not rush rush. I mist tell you they have really great doctors and a wonderful Hospital with the most caring doctor and nurses!! Yes, I spent as much time as I could in Lewiston whenever we got to go there!! I left my heart in Idaho and now I am to old to travel back there. It's videos about Idaho are a wonderful way to see the changes and to feel like I'm back home. Thank you for this womderful video.
My name is Caleb Jorgens. This is my mom’s account. Anyways. I’ve lived here in Lewiston since 2007. Contrary to people who speak boringly about this town. There’s something magically special about it… on 3rd Street is a house that I passed a few times when I trick or treated as a young boy, little did I know at the time *that* particular house used to belong to the brother of Lillian Disney! This said House also just happens to be the very house that the famed Walt Disney married Lillian at! I had no knowledge of this until Temple Grandin came to visit which was when the revelation hit me so hard in a very special way as I am a BIG fan of Disney and it’s history.
Aaron, you are very informative and enthusiastic about your subject. Lewiston sounds like a fine place. Thank you! (Great to see/hear from your grandfather, too.)
I visit the early part of December each year. Most years you need to mow the lawn and I see people out playing golf. But in early 2016 I was snowed in. 18 inches of snow in 2days. I saw on the front page of the paper "first time in 100 years of records kept, the schools in Lewiston were closed". Amazing.
Great job on pointing out some key information about the city. I am headed to that city soon and am now more excited about Lewiston more than ever. The only thing that I would add is, going around and really capturing the streets and people of the city.
You probably learned your way around the first time through, my husband has lived in Lewiston his whole life, when he complains about’rush hour traffic’ I laugh n tell him there are 6 cars in the road!!
Hahaha the wreck is a nice touch. I live in Lewiston in a historic neighborhood. I really appreciate this video. Thanks. I'm really proud of my home. Cheers to you and your father.
@@ALinsdau I love this video! I sincerely hope your grandfather is doing well during the pandemic! I'm looking to relocate to either Washington State, Oregon, or Idaho! its a tough decision, since PNW is such a beautiful area! each state has a lot to offer.
Aaron you did a great video!! I’ve been interested in Lewiston and have visited three times so far!! Learned soooo much!! You make the idea of moving there REAL!!! (Hmmmm 🤗)
I'm from that area. Grew up about 80 something miles from there. And no ocean going vessels used the Clearwater river to get to Lewiston. Lol... Its a tributary to the Snake.
There actually use to be a company that shipped to the Oregon coast I can't remember the name of it but my grandpa moved to the area because of that and worked for them
And unfortunately nothing great about raising a family there or starting a life. Much easier short and long term to live in Pullman/Moscow, Tri Cities, Spokane, Boise. Hell, even the one industry in Lewiston that's set up for the future world? SEL? The waiting list to get to Pullman branch from Lewiston just grows and grows
Lewiston would be a great city but the lack of industry and what the state of Idaho does to its own people/cities...compared to Washington next door... of course it's dying. And every border city with Washington is besides CDA (lake) and Moscow (liberal)
Clearwater paper mill and bullet factory that has 3 locationsi the valley due to its growth don't count A? Lewiston, Clarkston, Moscow, Pullman are called quad cities. With lewiston separated by only the river and the latter being only 30 min drIve up the hill. Difference being lc valley just looks at the snow on the hill the latter once again have to drive in every winter. Great video, my family also lives there. Cheers
Fishing and hunting and just plain "leisure", great place to "retire", but don't expect anything to change overnight. (ALL GOOD). Night life sucks, unless you make friends and can barbecue, along with BEER!
Lewiston is a dying town lol they have two paper mills and one is closing. All Lewiston is good for is a truck stop and drug trafficking to Boise and Salt Lake City from overseas in the Seattle Ports and Canada
Um excuse me. If you lived there you could appreciate how beautiful it is. You should she a shot of it at night from the Lewiston hill. Make sure you have your facts before posting.
No this is a bad idea, Lewiston is awful and it smells terrible you don’t want to visit Lewiston ever, the best part Is that Lewiston makes your toilet paper, it’s not exciting unless you were effected by the great TP shortage of 2020, Lewiston-ites we’re just fine, you should show the mastodon down by grangeville
Been here my whole life and the biggest problem ever is the Narcissistic old people that have millions of dollars and let the high school go to hell, good businesses were closed due to gossip and smear campaigns, families destroyed because one person didn't meet up to Catholic expectations, and an enormous elephant size load of emotional abuse passed down generation to generation all in the name of keep themselves empowered just like the socialist narcs out east.

We spent 7 days in Lewiston and enjoyed every minute of the stay,. Great friendly people, lots to see and do. Plan to go back in 2025.

Pretty crazy timing on the car wreck for sure. Hopefully it didn't long-term impact their lives.

Clarkston Washington - Lewiston Idaho

Coined Crackston now for a reason
Deepest inland port in the U.S.. Love the climate and small time town attitude, but BIG city expenses.(with no real industry). GREAT place to retire.

We actually have about 32,000 and Moscow has 25,000
And cour de alaine has more people because it's so closed to Spokane.

Wow your grandfather i bet has alot of stories.
That he did.
Also a church in the main downtown strip is not a good thing
It is as a historic theater that otherwise would have turned into something depressing like a baby gap. Lol
Depends on your definition of "good." I'd prefer to see a church on the downtown strip instead of a gay night club.
It's not so bad.
