Joel Robinson has an in-depth tutorial on how to put a pyro musical together with this system! It’s very easy to follow along with, and even if you aren’t buying the system I recommend checking out his video here: ua-cam.com/video/dmSGeGnRpYw/v-deo.html
This video has sold me on buying this firing system for my shows. It looks like you should be able to set up multiple modules in the field and fire it all off from your phone without a lot of hassle.
Bro yes! Just looking into this for years ive been hand lighting because all of ematches an what not seem just way too complicated… this changes the game
i was able to take talon ignitors (they come with ends pre stripped) and attatch them to the stipped ingite wires that are attached to clips(just pull right out) giving me the plug ignite end and the talon clip(reusable).. also extending the wire length.. works just dandy👍🏾😊
Dang it! I went from a few days ago saying "I'll look into a firing system some day" to today ordering this thing within 5 minutes of watching the video.
Firefly has been out for quite a while now... This is an imitation. And being Bluetooth it has its limits. That's why firefly switched to a WiFi version.
Honestly I like to hand light with a torch but I'm not going to lie that does look cool and very ez to use hmmm it's got my attention lol good stuff cody keep up the good work 🤘👍✊
I'm on my 5th season with two of the sub-$30 12 cue sets you find on eBay and chinese wholesale apps with no issues. Maybe it's just me, but I don't find using my phone to ignite these as a plus? Especially for that price? Give me a remote, damn. Watching this review made me decide to pick up a 3rd today and snagged a set for $28 with free shipping (now at 36 cues for under $90). You gotta plan ahead since they ship from China but it's a no brainer to me.
If I would have known this was coming out, I would have waited instead of getting a Cobra. For my purposes it would have been perfect. I may have to get one anyway. Though my 18M is the non quickplug version so they can't use the same talons or MJGs. Just one more thing to stockpile!
I'm in the same boat. I could have got 3 modules for the price of the Cobra, and I didn't want the Firefly because I didn't like their app and their initiators. Who knows, maybe they'll make a bluetooth upgrade for the 18R2 that'll allow pairing to these modules.
The Cobra system is just the big brother to the Ignite system. The Cobra system (with the 18R2 controller) will give you a lot more flexibility than Ignite. It's also easier to acquire eMatch/ignitors without the quickplug. The Ignite is meant for people like Cody (non-professional) and the Cobra is more Prosumer / Professional. And each system is priced as such. If you really don't want to invest in Cobra, you can sell the gear relatively easily. All Cobra gear has a LIFETIME warranty now...(Nice!) (For a side-perspective...Joel Robinson started out doing exactly what Cody does. It wasn't too long after that he got a job with Cobra. Not too shabby! Maybe Cody can get the point where he's working on the Ignite side of the business! Stick with it, Cody!)
Cody I think you can use the web site on phone to make a show also I recommend you use an iPad with that so you can read it better.. and incase you get a call and not have your iPhone on air play... just saying for emergency like if, I don't know like if there's a tornado behind you? 🤔😏😝.. just saying it be safer. Just saying too it be good have it all in one bag rdy for use also I think this what you should use so you don't trip and fall running away when you light it or you be set to shoot and film on your phone..
please do like a 3 month later and a year later review of this product i have a fireworks store that has this and im debating on getting this so i can have a beer and not worry about burning myself
So odd for me Cody, you don't have a pc, I don't have a smart phone and have a pc. and I sort of understand what you are talking about. All that said, love the firing system and the vid thank you!
I prefer the firefly. this system you need to keep buying igniters where as the firefly the igniters are reusable and you can light multiple fireworks of at once on a single igniter.
I was about to say this. Firefly is a bit more expensive ($229 currently on their website) but the igniters are reusable. Talon clips are running about $16 per 25pk. So after 3-4 firings of this system the cost is about the same as a Firefly. There are a lot of variables between the two to compare.
What's your best cakes you recommends for a backyard show. And also Is fountains? I always seem to have trouble with shooting the mortars and shells. Is there a trick
@@danielsegovia3357 For sure, you'd be hard pressed to find ghost ring/shell effects in any other canister shell. Usually have to buy a noab for that stuff.
Bet if you really wanted to you could splice and attach those wires to the other wires if you wanted to and use some wire connectors would probably work just fine
The Firefly has been doing this for a while now. And you can actually you MJG FireWire without having to purchase anything else extra. Not sure if I like that one
Have you ever had issues with cakes tipping over? I noticed you never secure them. Not saying there's anything wrong with that because I noticed you usually do them on a flat surface which is great. But still I value your insights on this since I had a tip over once and it really scared me ever since and now I want to secure them every time. But I noticed most people do not. ??? EDIT: I should not say that you never secure them because you do at times. I just noticed it seems like MOST of the time you do not. Does it make any difference what size cake it is that determines if it should be secured or not, even if it's on a level surface? -From your Midwest neighbor. 🎇

Picking up a 3rd set today for $28 free shipping. Plan ahead since they ship from China and take a few weeks.
Is this Bluetooth only or also wifi? I got a firefly firing system which is similar and uses Bluetooth or wifi and if you have more modules it creates a wifi mesh system.
Bluetooth (BLE5, not the typical bluetooth you're thinking of). People have done range tests and it goes to about 1000 feet even without raising it on a bucket like they suggest. It doesn't really need the mesh system unless you're free-shooting because the show can be sent to the modules and continue firing without any input from the phone.
