Best advice is to ignore the employees and just do what the management says unless it’s against your will. The post office pays people to move the mail and that is all you need to know. If you show up on time and give them a good days work you will be fine. Don't be on a phone or be laughing and having fun on the workroom floor. Appear to be working at all times and never hang around the supervisors desk. Quit worrying about other people and judging them. Just work your hours and get your pay.
I worked as a PSE at the Statesboro post office and the worst part was that most of the staff there had horrible attitudes. If you are new and ask a question they would give you an attitude, or act like they couldn't hear you, or make a negative comment about you. My first week there I asked a senior person where something was and she yelled at me and said "I ain't got time for you." I asked another person something my first week there and she yelled "I ain't your trainer." Then the real bad group would mumble stuff about new people like idiot, etc. She is right I saw multiple senior people playing on their phones while others worked.
I love your country Philippine ….could you explain what is non career and carrer mean…..PSE station and plant which one is carrer and which one is not dear. Thank you
At my station they'll just force a regular to do it. I suppose you COULD decline. I don't have to worry about being an OJI because I work safely, so I'm slower on the street than other carriers.
To anyone considering applying I say take a hard pass. I mean so hard that your gonna flip the danm car over. Your management will treat you like a dog and kick you nonstop. They expect you to do a route that's timed for 8 and expect you to do it in 6 tgen do it better then the regular. Love your family? Well you may as well just write them off of you take this job.
Just made regular Saturday after 3 1/2 yrs. Being a Cca is hard but so rewarding when you make it.. When you are a Cca your simply cheap labor. 55-60 hrs a week for me. They rather pay Cca's vs regulars who make more. It comes with the territory.. Make that money!! It gets better.. If your not on the Odl, 8hr days are coming.. You sound like a clerk tho.. Yesss management can be tough.. Ive had the pleasure of listening in on a few conference calls and they can be intense.. For many sups/managers it becomes a trinkle effect.. However! There are some great sups out there.. I have good one's currently.. Their not all bad😁.. Stay encouraged! It gets better.. Its like boot camp in many ways lol..
Hi! Congratulations on becoming a regular!! I'm happy for you! I can't agree more about the boot camp! That's what I literally say all the time. 😃 And yes, I am a PSE not CCA. I feel pretty lucky with the management. There are times I get annoyed with the schedule changes but I got used to it.
It took my aunt 2 years she is a regular. I do not like how y’all try to speak down on people with kids as if they can’t do this job . They have a family to take care of my supervisor , and his wife as well as his daughter work for the post office he said it has become a family business ..Also no post office is ran the same so this is based off your opinion and your experience with that being said when you guys make these videos y’all need to post what city and what state you are living in as well as your Post Office.
I never said that people with kids can't do this job. In fact everyone can do this job as long as they can lift heavy stuff. I said, they might have to really think about it as based on my experience at my station it would be hard especially when you want to spend time with your kids on the weekend it's kinda impossible. I am working in Rhode Island. I have co worker that has been working for over 20 years and still get forced to work on saturdays or on her days off. This is all based on my experience and as I said, whatever I said it doesn't mean it would be the same to other post offices or stations.
Maybe not in those words but you clearly made a statement as if it witnessed hard it can be done and I’m in the south with 2 kids 3 pm to 3 am still handling things so it’s hard but can be done ✅
Does the USPS HR hold it against me if I withdraw an application which got a job offer (this is my very first job offer)? I got a job offer for a location father away than my preferred location, the preferred location is for a separate application (and I haven't got a job offer for that application yet). Will the USPS still give me a job offer for other applications if I don't respond to the first offer? I have 5 applications turned in and I got a job offer for the application I did first. Still waiting on the other 4. Do you know if USPS only extends one job offer at a time for people turning in multiple applications? The application which got the offer says "Offer Phase (EXT)". The other apps say "Pre-Screening" or "Application Entry". Will USPS still send me job offers (or at least consider it) to those applications?
Hi, sorry for the late response. I don't think they will hold it against you if you withdraw an application. That's what I did at first. I had multiple applications sent in, and I got a conditional job offer from another location that's a bit farther from me, and I accepted it, then I got another offer from a location that is closer to me, so I accepted it and declined the other one. You have to respond to their job offer or else it will expire and they might not send you another offer for that location. You pretty much just have to make a decision once you get the offer if you want it or not. I think when it says "Offer Phase (ext)" you have a chance that you will be receiving an offer from them. I hope this helps.
This is not an accurate representation of USPS. This women has done this for 3 months- hasn't even got her feet wet. She is a CCA I'm guessing. The CCA schedule is 6-7 days a week, 10-12 hrs a day. There is no Teamwork in this job. Your job is to deliver the route and bump your supervisor gives you on a daily basis. Don't be a burden on your coworkers and do your route. Don't make other coworkers stay out all night cleaning up your inability to deliver mail. Regulars goals are vastly different then that of a CCA. They are directly in contrast with another. Many Regulars want to deliver the least amount of mail and unload the most amount of mail unto the CCA'S. CCA's want regulars to suck it up and deliver their entire routes. CCAs want to go home when they are done with their work that was assigned to them individually. Instead they are out all night helping the weakest links in the post office. Trust me there are some weak ones. The post office is ass backwards - good employees are overburdened with their work and someone else's while bad employees barley do just one route. It literally pays to suck at USPS. The worse you are the better. Management can't desipline you for poor route times. Im my much longer experience with the post office, in short, if you can't figure out how to deliver mail in 2 months please just quit. Dont be a shitty carrier the entire time your a CCA- cause your just gonna be a shittier Regular

Do PSE non career get medical benefits? How long to convert to a regular PSE or PTF with benefits?
Some, but very limited usually through your union. For conversation, depends on the office or plant you work at. Various variables here. Thanks

That could be at the window or in the back distribution. Make sure to ask during orientation.
