The only bad is they don’t always live long enough. I have lost my boy to HCM two months ago. He was an adoptee and was with me only 3 years. The best years of my life. He was 5,5 when he passed away. The most beautiful, sensitive and smart breed on the planet. A true cat companion. 💔

This is so true! I'm sorry for your loss 😢My oldest girl just died of a blood clot and cardiac arrest last month at almost 14 years. I've had cats most of my life, and loved them all. But there was a bond with her that I've. never had with a kitty before.

That's so great! But please don't bath them, it destroys the barrier on their skin.. I have two and was only bathing them sometimes when they where little kitties because they had shit or pee on themselves. Now they are super clean without! That's a myth :)
@@aliceglass8182 yes. That’s what I heard. My breeder said that as well. Got water based baby wipes anytime she gets dirty. Tried cleaning out her ears with q-tips. But not sure how to get more of the ear wax cleaned out.

I've already payed for my Spynix kitten, I have a Male Corgi and a regular street cat so she'll be fine when I'm gone, bathing her wont be an issue either as every new week (Monday) is my wash day for my hair and I'll schedule her to that as well for washing, I can't wait to get her on the 28th of April

Me and my wife have sqhynx kitty named “baby”. She’s a wonderful animal always sleeps in bed with us every night and very patient kitty. And a wild one she broke our tv one night jumping on it 😂 can’t be mad at her though she’s wonderful

I have 2 sphynx Grimmlin and Krueger they cause more trouble than 10 cats each Krueger loves to be understood and enjoys doing tricks for treats and both love people they get excited like dogs when someone is at the door and have absolutely no fear of strangers they are unlike any other cats if you have the drive to care for and maintain a sphynx and genuinely love cats I would highly recommend a sphynx as a new family member they have so much personality all cats love their people but not all cats express their love in easily communicable ways but sphynx are just hardwired to be affectionate with their people it's rarer to find a sphynx that doesn't enjoy being doted on I can't imagine life without a clingy naked alien to sacrifice all of my attention and affection to they're incredibly loyal as well (something that all cat owners crave to see from their feline companions) I adore my boys and my life is better with them in it

Being a Sphynx mama myself, I think you did a great job with this video! But one other downside is that Sphynxes also have a tendency to have digestive issues. I've found that a raw diet is best, and that can be pricey for some people.
What do you recommend for raw diet? I thought about getting one , what do you feed yours?
Since there are no local stores that carry raw cat food, I order freeze dried raw. Stella & Chewy's is the brand I settled on after alot of reading. I soak it in water for a couple of minutes before feeding, but you don't need to. Sphynx, just like many other pure breeds, are very high-maintenance, but imo their personalities and companionship are worth it all!

If people don't like affectionate cats then people don't have emotions. I love cat's that are affectionate, close and playful. If people don't want animals that are like those three, and an animal that just wants your attention then people shouldn't have animals.✨

These is no dilemma. Adopt a cat or any animal. Save a life. Don't just think I want one of these or those which are produced when you can give one abandoned home
I think the missing whiskers are a huge problem for this breed though.
I have 2 Aliens myself. They are both happy and (still) healthy! They both only grew very very weak whiskers which aren't really useful for them - in austria there is meanwhile a new law for Animal Welfare Act that forbids advertising with or for Sphynx without whiskers - which is good honestly. I wished I knew that before I got my 2, I read SO MUCH about this breed before I got them and I LOVE THEM! They are the left and right side of my heart but to think about them might getting HCM someday..
Also they were very clumsy as kittens because of their missing whiskers, they easily bumped into things when turning around and stuff (it got better over time, they have no problems today BUT that doesn't mean it's not a problem in general )
As I've said, I love them, but I was selfish with supporting a breed that comes with such high health risks and I'm worried and feel guilty every day because of it.
But that's what you have to live with and be sure to make the very best out of it to give them everything they need.
SO of course Sphynx are absolutely lovely cats but I just can't be to 100% supportive of advertising anymore.
Do they do fine in dirty/dusty houses? We've got wood floors that attract dust like crazy!
I guess the sphynx would get dirtier more quickly then too. It's like when you are barefoot, dirty/dusty floors will make your feet dirty then too.
They also can get like blemished skin, my Sphynx has acne for example, the cleaner I keep my apartment, the better for her skin condition!
We have a cleaning-robot meanwhile who does a great job in vaacuming the floor 2x a day.

I love my boy so much, he is my best friend, out of my 6 cats, he loves me the most too. Please beware that they are get respiratory issues, my boy got cat flu and it's horrible seeing him cough and struggling , the vets say is common for this breed and can be with anti inflammatory of severe then steroids,I hate seeing him ill X

Actually, for now it goes like this. You could be allergic to fur in general, and in this case sphynx are ideal. But good luck of you allergic specifically to cats - reaction to cuddling sphynx could be pretty severe:(
So when it comes to bathing these cats, would it be ok to bathe them daily? Or once a week?
Once a week or every other week depending on how oily they get. Too often can be bad for them.

I keep my cats healthy and perfect.. I feed them real foods. All animals are affectionate, very close, wants attention, very playful, very intelligent and have emotions. All animal don't like to be separated.
Edit: People shouldn't be breeding animals anyway, maybe animals won't have problems nor having no fur and diseases.

Did I miss the point where they mention that sphinx cats are a special breed created by humans? So every health issue they have is a result of breeding them like that. So the only ethical way to get a sphinx cat is by saving them from an animal rescue shelter or something of the sort. You really shouldn't get them from a breeder.
sphinxes have very smelly poop and digestive problems, why is no one talking about it. Bath every week is not a problem, a terrible stench from the cat litter is a problem

I have 2 Sphynx and one of them has diarrhea since he was a kitten, my vet and I are trying to get this problem solved somehow, we already only feed the best quality food
and the droppings got more solid over winter but in summer it always gets back to be liquid again. :\ So the issue is gastrointestinal, we sent a sample to the laboratory now.
My other Sphynx doesn't have any problem like that. BUT she has acne and a lot of ingrown pimples under her skin.
I guess nobody ever talks about this because it "doesn't look/sound pretty".

I think sphynx cats can be a little ugly, especially their tail, and if I had one I’d prefer to have it white. I won’t get one though because after watching this video I’ve realized that I’m not fit for it. But maybe I’ll get one when I’m old and jobless, and for that a short life expectancy is good. But biggest reason I want one is because they’re hairless. I currently have 2 cats, one long hair and one short hair, and I really hate the hair going all over my clothes and food
Or as long as I’m still healthy and quick thinking and not too tired when I’m old
But bad thing is it’s pretty cold we’re I live and temperatures are pretty different in summer and winter and even from day to evening it changes a lot and I prefer cold temperatures too so that is not good
