@@GearHead704 we're just glad you're taking these cars seriously and willing to put in the time and effort to bring them back, same as us. Keep em coming brother 👊 🏃🦊
Ya bro that's cool your getting in there learning how to do that stuff. There is no better way learning than hands on experience, and it's a point and a half on the motivation side because you've already been there messing around it once before. Matt's a pretty cool guy.😃😎💪🙌👌👍
Good vid, i will be doing this with a buddy, on a 87 that he picked up. The whole drivetrain will be going in a 92 notch he has. We are planning on recording the whole thing and putting it on u tube. Glad your doing work to this car!
Is his 92 notch a 4cyl car or V8 I have a 87 notch 4cyl car my donor is a 92 GT but I all ready have the whole 89 harness well everything I need!! If so could use some tips on the swap if it's a 4cyl swap!!!!
@@cashmoneyv197436ify No its not a 4cyl his 92 is a roller. We are going to do a complete swap, motor, trans, wiring harness. Hes going to use it as a drag car. The plan is to swap then run it at the strip, then start adding aftermarket parts heads, cams etc and keep taking it back to see what improvements they actually make.
@@jimmitchell3331 thanks for replying this 4cyl shit has me stumped but once I get under the V8 car in start doing the V8 fuel lines I guess I will figure out the brake line stuff for the 8.8 rear I am going to be running super 10s I might dump them for awhile if I set the brake lines up like the 4cyl I won't be able to run a tail pipe out the passenger side!! "I'm learning there's not much to it" I love it GH! You're right, it just takes the motivation to get in there. Having that garage behind you, gives you all the support you need. You're learning and will appreciate that SSP, that much more, when you're done. You're already bragging about the rear end...and you should. Keep at it👍
Having a tubular k member must be a world of a difference when working underneath. Getting to the starter bolts alone with the stock k member is a nightmare lol. Wish I could do this all again to my 89 notch. Stoked to watch this build!!
Getting there man go to Harbor Freight and get some of those mechanics gloves instead of those rubber gloves lol !! They work just some bolts u may not be able to get started with them on but it's a lot better changing gloves every 10 minutes!!!! Can't wait to see u get it the motor out!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great video! I will have a lift in the future! Pain in the butt working off jack stands! I've never pulled a motor from the bottom with a lift but, I've have got a motor and trans out less than 2 hours on jack stands and a cherry picker! You need to throw your gloves in the trash and buy some good soap! ;-)
Will you do a video of speedo gear change because I need to do mine as well! Plus ask Matt what can he sale me to fix the typical old speedo needle bouncing? Will a new speedo cable fix that? Thanks man
Just FYI Matt, that is actually the BBK x-pipe off of my '92, took off when we did the coyote swap!

Absolutely man and thanks for the encouragement!
You really need to do this on the ground with the car about a foot in the air. Just for the experience.
lmao this is true
🤣That was the original plan, but I figured you guys want to see some actual progress this decade LOL
Lol good stuff we know he's addicted but we don't want to discourage him progress 👍🇺🇸🔧🚘🔴🔥
You have been learning and doing alot. I can't wait to see the SSP completed. I love ol TarHeel too.
Thanks, yeah I need to get the SSP done so I can get tarheelfox rolling again.
That’s awesome! Glad you’re getting your hands dirty. You’ll learn a ton, but it’s not all that complicated... just takes time.

Yeah my vert has the stock K member, so I'm sure I'll have that problem when I pull the motor out of it.
Nice! Make sure to power wash the undercarriage and paint it. I'm doing that to mine to make it super clean down there
Your cars are so nice and clean! Love your insta acct.

i need a lift at home!!
It's so helpful, I'm really fortunate.
no need to remove the starter

Yeah we'll cover the speed gear change at some point. Also, give Matt a call as he does fix speedometers.
GearHead704 I have called but only got the voice mail. Left a message two days days. Do you the bet hours to catch him?
Matt's been sick with the flu of late. I haven't seen him in a good bit.
makes me realize I need a lift...would make life so much easier
I'm very fortunate to be able to use his lift for sure.
Just look at all the cash you're saving! Can't believe the trans was empty though...ugh!
Yeah, more than half the money in my vert is labor, so doing it yourself definitely seems the way to go.
Do you need a hard hat!

Hah hah, IDK but at least they watch 😉
