Hello I watched this video and decided to make my own momoni. I have never made it before but mine didn't smell bad after two weeks. I used evaporated sea salt on mine, and I wrapped it in cling wrap and plastic bag then placed it in a container. After two weeks, it wasn't smelling that bad, it just smelled like sardine or something and I noticed it had a bit of yellow like it had gone rotten on the inside or something. I added pink Himalay sea salt again and wrapped it and put it away. pls I need help, how is it supposed to smell? Should I start again with a new fish because I don't know if mine turned out right

With authentic momoni, I will suggest you do not salt the fish for about 4-5days. That will cause the fish to somehow ROT, given you the momoni scent/smell. You then add the salt and allow it to sit for about 4-5days preferably in the sun covered of course.Your momoni will be sooo authentic.

Sweet they can keep it also in any air tight container with much oil in it for preservation and keep on top of their shelves for more than six month kraa.i personally use olive oil but any oil at all does it
