So I've been trying to remove it for an hour and let me just say, I went COMPLETELY MENTAL. My cortisol levels flew up crazy. It's a miracle how it didn't give me a stroke or something. All the videos showing how easy it is and yet here I am covered in dust and can't wait the next time I have to clean it.👌
Upon watching the video for the seccond time, now i see that the filter should stay in the dirt cup locked for it and it comes of a lot easier than when you hold directly at the filter.
Your video saved me but only after i've almost lost my fingers and lungs 😆
I’m sorry you lost your fingers and lungs. 😆 your comment made my day and made me laugh!
Oh my goodness! I can completely relate to the above comment about how long the person had been working on getting the blasted pre-filter out and about feeling like she was going mental. I wanted to toss that thing across the house and never buy another Mieke vacuum!!!! But this video helped me understand how to do it! I've been pressing down and turning thinking there was some sort of notch- because one of the videos I watched online told me to do it that way, as well as instructions I found written out in illustrated somewhere. What a relief to finally have that thing out! Thank you thank you, thank you! It was so filthy.
Thank you from the UK…You saved my brother’s day. You are the Rosetta Stone of the hieroglyphics of the manual’s instructions!
Another way i found was using the attachment holder tool it sits on the filter top and makes it even easier to turn it off . hope this helps someone . 😉👍 Thanks lady .
I don't understand what you mean. I'm having trouble getting the filter to come out.
Cannot remove the filter from the assembly. I turn clockwise as you instruct, but it does not come out when pulled. I pulled hard!
Looks pretty easy. Once its out do you simply wash in off under running water?
That’s a great question! I can’t believe I didn’t mention this. After you remove the filter, you should vacuum it off. It is not recommended to wash it because of the material it’s made out of. Usually these filters vacuum off very well or you can use air and blow it off.
I pulled the filter until my fingers started hurting. It would not come off. Pretty discouraging for an expensive vaccum. Finally , I snapped out the top of filter holder, with a small tip pushed in filter edge at three spots and it came out. If you need more info leave me a message here. Good luck!
@@kimberly.thomason I found a more practical way. The filter holder needs to be kept by your left hand, top facing you, as in this photo : drive.google.com/file/d/1_kwXfoyYRbUL1FMGTVOdgW1-sGFbNcUs/view?usp=drivesdk. Then with the thumb and index finger from right hand , you need to push in hard and twist clockwise. The fingers will be sore, but with a little muscle action it will open.
So your secret was to have 3 small tips placed around the filter? Mine won't dislodge at all. Tried to put a small steel thing but I only used 1. Is the secret to use 3? What did you use?
I have pulled and pulled but the filter will not come out. I have been working on it now for 40 minutes. What am I doing wrong? I have released the dirt cup as demonstrated I have a Hx1 model
Help asap! Not my vacuum! When I went to open it to clean out the dirt the bottom portion of the inner thing fell off it has an inner spring. How to reattach it?
I think it is Beastly . I have used Miele cylinder vacuum cleaners for years and found them heavy but efficient. I have spent an hour and a half of my life
trying to remove the filter . This is extremely bad design. Also the capacity of the container is Extremely small. Dont feel bad !!!! The designers at Miele
should hang their heads in shame .This is Victim Blaming par excellence
I understand. The bins on all cordless vacuums are super small. Bags are certainly better.
I’m losing my mind. What is wrong!?! I can’t spend half of every Saturday trying to get this filter out. I’ve performed the task exactly as you have shown and it won’t come out! What will actually work? Please!
My HX2 does not open when turned clockwise. It does not work the way she explains it on the video. My husband is a technical guy who can fix and build anything, and even he couldn't get it open.😢
Counter clockwise to remove it, and more counter clockwise to open the bottom…to remove the dirt cup. Have to remove the dirt cup and turn the filter for removal. It can only be removed once the dirt cup has been removed.
@@Dave30867 What is the attachment tool holder? How can it be used as a handle for removing the filter from the filter cup?
absolutely NOT. I have been working at this filter for far too long and it's not that easy. The vacuum must be broken or something. I have read on other videos that other have had a very hard time too. Why yours was so easy I am not sure.
@@kimberly.thomason Same problem. It looks like I will need to purchase an entirely new filter assembly, which is NOT listed as a spare part or other tool. Yikes!
It is realy easy to romove... I had same problem, just need to figure it out
It's NOT easy at all!!! My fingers are sore from trying to remove the fine filter, listen I'm a German
Big Fan but this, ladies and gentlemen , is German Ueber Engineering to the point of it needs a
major upgrade in the design. How many websites I've seen? Maybe 6 and some mention "it's a little
tricky like children's locks on medicine" and that's an understatement. Perhaps I'll just cut it open
with a Sawsall. Ja? I know I'll just never open.
Das ist einfach bloedsin.

I promise you it gets easier as you remove and install it more. I suggest doing it multiple times in a row if you can. Our demo unit in the store is super easy to remove the filter
Your instructions are terrible. You show the filter assembly inside of the dust reservoir, then suddenly it’s out? Also, the assembly is sitting on table and you can just pull the filter out? Nonsense.
thank you, saved my life getting the darn filter out
