I recently re-read the last 20 or so issues of the Tim Drake "Robin" run, so that was before Jason was retconned as getting LOA training... in the old canon, even Tim was a better fighter, the only thing that Jason had for him was "brute strenght" and being an expert at firearms. Jason was the ginger of the family, next to Barbara (and later Kate Kane), Bruce had to dye his hair so people wouldn't notice that it's a different kid in the uniform. Karate Kid. In one story, karate kid is in the present day, and ends up in the Batcave unconscious because he is sick. Batman tries to find out who is: he doesn’t get a match in any of the Interpol databases for the fingerprints, nor does he get a match from anything from the Batcave. But he does find a match at the fortress of solitude, and learns who karate kid is. Superman rated karate kid as a level 15 hand to hand combat. He only rated Batman as a 12.
The Lightning Saga. Karate Kid had been mind-controlled by Ivo for . . . reasons (mastermind reveal is too good to spoil, just read The Tornado's Path), and he's recovering from that. Still only loses because Batman does some weird nerve-shutdown move on him.
I loved the Captain America/ Batman fight from Marvel vs DC. There are no punches thrown, they just stand there and with twitches have an entire fight without really moving.
Standard comic book logic is the MORE martial arts you know, the better fighter you are. By this logic Mr. Miyagi loses to ANY karate fighter who also knows Tae-bo.

According to the comics, the first time Ra's fought Batman, Talia gave Bats poison to cause him to almost die while fighting Ra's. Talia didn't want either of them to die. She loved them both. After her father walked away thinking he killed Bats, Talia gave Bats the antidote. Then flew away with her father in a jet leaving Bats in middle of the desert. I think Bats can beat Ra's in plain hand to hand combat.
Either Rage or Fear. The red lantern corp's whole thing is basically brutal justice/revenge from what I understand, and that fits Punisher to a tee. Fear also works though since he wants the criminals of the city to fear him, and he lacks almost all mercy. Plus, he aint wearing that outfit for nothing. Also, the fact that he often does'nt try to hide his identity to his victims tells me that he is a man without fear himself, which ironically seems ideal for a Sinestro corp member.

To get deeper into the Damian Wayne argument Batman in Bathlehem Its stated he was artificially perfected to replace and kill Bruce. Commissioner Gordon says Damian can eventually surpass Bruce as the greatest crime fighter in the world ever due to his natural skills at such a young age, although he says he must learn to refrain from killing(AKA become better via having to hold back and still win) Damian does say he would never be as good as his father or Dick(Gordon is wiser than Damian anyways) but this is an earlier and more insecure Damian as in that story he isnt confident of taking on the mantle. He says this after using an explosive on Azrael which somehow had no effect on him and Damian still proceeded to quickly casually destroy him and effortlessly snap his neck with one twist only. He also physically overpowered Jakanape who is stated to have SUPERHUMAN strength In later stories Damian is seen more experienced and confident saying "I am the best" He also thought about how he could have killed Ras Al Ghul in one move but said "Damian would have killed you.I dont kill,I am Batman" To me it seems Gordons predictions have come true. DrHurt also spoke very highly of Future Damians abilities to Bruce, his wording can be possibly seen as telling him Damian is a superior Batman but thats up to interpetation. Titans Tomorrow A very similar incarnation of Damian from the Titans Tomorrow future is stated as being along with Future Dick and Future Jason, superior as a fighter to the evil Future Tim Drake Batman, this same Tim could fight on par with Bruce Wayne although he was weaker but still on the same level. Doesnt mean this Damian is necessarily better than Batman but it does prove he is atleast equal to him Futures End Batman Beyond While it is stated by Bruce he surpassed him i think people underestimate by how much. Bruce stated his abilities SCARED him and Damian was able to fight the Batman Beyond armor which is purposely designed to be far better than Bruce and not fail,he even held his own against the PERFECT AI of the suit taking over. With all these things i think its safe to say he surpassed Bruce by a considerable amount Why Injustice doesnt matter Yes Injustice Damian always loses to Bruce(although going by the story trailer and the Injustice 2 comics he is still SOMEWHAT comparable)but heres the thing,he is much younger and less experienced than the versions i mentioned above. This is not a fully mature fighter but a work in progress as stated by Dicks ghost. Dick also had a hallucination of several versions of Damian and it seemed to be in a hierarchy, the lowest one was the 10 year assassin that was introduced to Bruce and the second best is Injustice Damian but above him we see Batman Damian as bigger and taller. So Injustice is NOT Damians prime.Furthermore since he is a villian in that story he is always gonna lose DC vs Vampires Dick Grayson says Damian could one day be the best of them if he controlled his temper. His older versions are indeed calmer than his child version EARTH 43 This Damian honestly performs atleast on par with Prime Earth Batman against their common foes.He even manages to fight him off after he gets ambushed by him due to mind control,Bruce even makes note of his training and ability.Despite all that he didnt look fully grown up And yes nearly ALL these futures are canon, thats how possible futures work in DC. But is this all really surprising? At the end of the day Bruce is a rich kid that only started basic training on his own at age 14 amd wouldnt do his real training till age 18-25,Dick is a circus boy,Jason is a street punk, though he is the closest thing to Damian and Tim is a smartass. Damian was artifically perfected for combat since before he was born in the mechanical womb and very literally started his training moments since his day of birth by Talia throwing him in a pool to nearly drown.Even with equal amount of training Damians heritage is crazy,Batman and Talia?!How does Thomas/Martha etc compare to that? Him NOT ending up better than the rest would be an insult to logic and service to his haters

Lady Shiva? Just because the character Batman stated her level was unparalleled, does not mean Batman thinks she is better than him. We the readers have no idea what references Batman was making. When you think about it, whenever Ra’s is fighting Batman he’s not holding back. But Batman is holding back so he won’t kill someone, yet Batman still wins. It’s probably just because Batman has plot immunity but that really just goes to show how skilled Batman is that he’s able to beat a man who’s had hundreds more years of training than him and he isn’t even going all out.
More (mostly human) characters that could beat Batman: - Bane - Black Canary - Batgirl (Cassandra Cain) - Ghost Maker - Wildcat (in his prime) - Richard Dragon

There isn’t anyone who can beat Batman one on one because strength, skill, anyone person in their prime has never been fair for Batman. He didn’t beat super man or ALL OF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE because of any of those factors. What made Batman so dangerous was his paranoia, and his need for preparation for any worse outcome. Chances are that if you pose 1% threat to Batman you’re on his radar and he will devote his life to figure out your weaknesses and find way to defeat you. Whether you’re Superman, darksied, or shredder, or his own son. Not saying Batman is unbeatable but the chance of anyone beating Batman is his lack of knowledge about the person. Batman is a mastermind and quite frankly he intellect is why he will never be defeated. Js.

Video idea : Best heart-to-heart moments in the DC Universe It would be a quite interesting video to watch since there is a lot of moments like this in the comics tv shows and games
Here's a video if Superman and Batman fought each other, but the playing field was level, either they both have the exact same powers or no powers at all, who would win?
Batman. Superman only ever wins when he has the unfair advantage of powers, but even the playing field and Batman would win every time. Mostly because Superman does'nt know how to fight; he always counts on his powers. Batman however is one of the best martial artists on the planet. Not to mention that Superman is far more kind/merciful than Bats. Just watch the fight between the two in Superman: Red Son. It gives you a good idea about how a fight between them on an equal playing field would go down.
Ok. You want to go with more recent fight? When batman though Jason killed the penguin he absolutely wiped the floor with him. Hit him so hard his helmet broke. And in the most recent comics Batman is kinda holding back and still gets Jason on his knees. Legends of the dark knight comic I think.
There's one normal human who could beat batman in a fair fight knowing beforehand that he'd be fighting batman, that's Michael Holt. The comics don't address it directly. Indirectly, if you read between the lines, the comics suggest that Michael Holt is slightly more intelligent than Batman. "It's not size or strength that matters, it's focus. Had it been Acevedo from his *Oz* days, it would have been more credible.
Still, both of his fights against the Green Arrow in the show were pretty damn good IMHO
I guess it was going to be difficult for anyone to be the Big Bad, after season 5's *Prometheus* , who is still in the top 3 best Arrowverse villains...
Diaz was still an improvement over Cayden James in season 6, don't you think?
If Jason can control his anger, he could be one of best hand to hand fighters
I recently re-read the last 20 or so issues of the Tim Drake "Robin" run, so that was before Jason was retconned as getting LOA training... in the old canon, even Tim was a better fighter, the only thing that Jason had for him was "brute strenght" and being an expert at firearms.
I'm glad that they gave him a boost, but I'm still peeved that they made his hair black like the other robins...
Jason was the ginger of the family, next to Barbara (and later Kate Kane), Bruce had to dye his hair so people wouldn't notice that it's a different kid in the uniform.
And then he had some white streaks in his hair thanks to his Lazarus trip, that looked cool and helped differentiate him from Dick & co.
He more than held his own against a team Batman assembled in Event Leviathan
Same goes to Damian, which is why i think he would still lose against batman even as an adult
@@richardinis yes because of his anger

Missing Cassandra Cain who's just Lady Shiva Jr.
Not to mention she's can physically Overpowers Batman(in pre-new52 canon)
@@Masonicon Right, yeah Batman knows she's the only one who might be just straight up better then Shiva, something batman can't say about himself, so yeah Cass clearly belongs on this list.

I really enjoy her in the current storylines, with the "Batgirls" crew and all ^^
I just miss her relationship with Clayface...
@@randallflagg3700 To my knowledge the only times where those 2 fought was when Cass had undergone some brain alteration that both let her speak but also really screwed up her ability to fight the way she used to. Cass went to Shiva to re learn and naturally Shiva was brutal with her teaching. They did eventually fight for real and I think Cass beat her relatively easily. But I lost track of her back in the early 2000's so I might be wrong.

an often overlooked character who has defeated Batman before in hand to hand without using her powers is Black Canary
its such a good day when you upload, im literally watching one of your other videos on my tv right now!!
He once fought Bronze Tiger and admitted that the latter could beat him every time.
Even admitted Cap can beat him.
I loved the Captain America/ Batman fight from Marvel vs DC. There are no punches thrown, they just stand there and with twitches have an entire fight without really moving.
My dad could probably beat Batman. He’s a navy seal, he has a black belt in karate, he owns microsoft, and he opens the jar in one turn.
You forgot about shredder from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in their crossover movie with Batman
Dick Grayson defeated Bruce in a 1 on 1 fight in Nightwing #30 (New 52). It was the final issue before the Grayson series launched.
KarateKid (Val Amorr of the 31st Century), he's so skilled that, in an audition for the Legion, he held his own against Kal-El!
"despite what people would like to say, size does matter"

Standard comic book logic is the MORE martial arts you know, the better fighter you are. By this logic Mr. Miyagi loses to ANY karate fighter who also knows Tae-bo.
Cassandra Cain, Katana, and I believe Black Canary could beat him in a fair fight.
Black Canary, I disagree with that, her training is very good, but she relies on her powers, and this is a fair fight, so no powers, meaning Batman would have the advantage, and Batman has beaten Katan a bunch In pretty sure.
@@toby1061 - White Canary on the other hand... according to Dinah, she's even stronger than Lady Shiva.

Cassandra Cain beat Lady Shiva, so she can beat Batman.
...
If is it so- Deathstroke beat Cassandra Cain in 2003 s batgirl series which is same series cassandra defeated Lady Shiva. So Slade can defeat lady shiva and Batman-
In Young Jusctice Lady Shiva, Bane and Deadtstroke Team up to battle Batman's Team, and in the comics all this people have defeat Batman on their onw.
You all remember when Cassandra Cain as Batgirl fought Shiva and won?

I love how this guy isn't a douche. He isn't like Darkseid would obviously kill batman. But rewording it into Darkseid had the edge over him. I love it.
Great list! All great choices, I know you had to draw a line in the list somewhere, and not sure who I would have removed to add them. I would have added Cassandra Cain and perhaps Connor Hawk (although not a huge fan of Green Arrow)

Why does it grind my gears so bad when i hear 'raish Al goul' 💀
i am pretty sure that ghost maker needs to be on that list
and also Cass cain
These are the type of videos where you watch the whole thing
Possible next video idea but which lantern corps would best suit the Punisher
Either Rage or Fear. The red lantern corp's whole thing is basically brutal justice/revenge from what I understand, and that fits Punisher to a tee. Fear also works though since he wants the criminals of the city to fear him, and he lacks almost all mercy. Plus, he aint wearing that outfit for nothing. Also, the fact that he often does'nt try to hide his identity to his victims tells me that he is a man without fear himself, which ironically seems ideal for a Sinestro corp member.

The student should surpass the teacher.
Bane has won without venom, though that's more so the exception not the rule.
Because Batman was tired
To get deeper into the Damian Wayne argument
Batman in Bathlehem
Its stated he was artificially perfected to replace and kill Bruce.
Commissioner Gordon says Damian can eventually surpass Bruce as the greatest crime fighter in the world ever due to his natural skills at such a young age, although he says he must learn to refrain from killing(AKA become better via having to hold back and still win)
Damian does say he would never be as good as his father or Dick(Gordon is wiser than Damian anyways) but this is an earlier and more insecure Damian as in that story he isnt confident of taking on the mantle. He says this after using an explosive on Azrael which somehow had no effect on him and Damian still proceeded to quickly casually destroy him and effortlessly snap his neck with one twist only.
He also physically overpowered Jakanape who is stated to have SUPERHUMAN strength
In later stories Damian is seen more experienced and confident saying "I am the best"
He also thought about how he could have killed Ras Al Ghul in one move but said "Damian would have killed you.I dont kill,I am Batman"
To me it seems Gordons predictions have come true.
DrHurt also spoke very highly of Future Damians abilities to Bruce, his wording can be possibly seen as telling him Damian is a superior Batman but thats up to interpetation.
Titans Tomorrow
A very similar incarnation of Damian from the Titans Tomorrow future is stated as being along with Future Dick and Future Jason, superior as a fighter to the evil Future Tim Drake Batman, this same Tim could fight on par with Bruce Wayne although he was weaker but still on the same level.
Doesnt mean this Damian is necessarily better than Batman but it does prove he is atleast equal to him
Futures End Batman Beyond
While it is stated by Bruce he surpassed him i think people underestimate by how much.
Bruce stated his abilities SCARED him and Damian was able to fight the Batman Beyond armor which is purposely designed to be far better than Bruce and not fail,he even held his own against the PERFECT AI of the suit taking over. With all these things i think its safe to say he surpassed Bruce by a considerable amount
Why Injustice doesnt matter
Yes Injustice Damian always loses to Bruce(although going by the story trailer and the Injustice 2 comics he is still SOMEWHAT comparable)but heres the thing,he is much younger and less experienced than the versions i mentioned above.
So Injustice is NOT Damians prime.Furthermore since he is a villian in that story he is always gonna lose
DC vs Vampires
Dick Grayson says Damian could one day be the best of them if he controlled his temper. His older versions are indeed calmer than his child version
EARTH 43
This Damian honestly performs atleast on par with Prime Earth Batman against their common foes.He even manages to fight him off after he gets ambushed by him due to mind control,Bruce even makes note of his training and ability.Despite all that he didnt look fully grown up
And yes nearly ALL these futures are canon, thats how possible futures work in DC.
I'm predicting Lady Shiva, Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Cassandra Cain, and Deathstroke
Lady Shiva? Yes (2nd entry). Deathstroke? Yes (3rd entry, but only on a technicality as the healing factor gives Wilson an unfair advantage). Jason Todd & Dick Grayson? Yes to both (sharing the 5th entry, but they're but 2 of the first 4 Robins; among them, Tim is 4th, Damian is 3rd, Todd is 2nd & Grayson is 1st)..
You're wrong about 1 of the remaining 3: he mentioned Ra's Al Ghul as the first entry & Bronze Tiger as the 4th entry..
@@AifDaimon Well 4[or 3 depending how you look at it] out of 5 aint too bad. Can't win em all
@@vergilsonofsparda2350 in all honesty, though, if Deathstroke didn't have his healing factor at all from the start, would he still be able to go toe-to-toe with Batman?
@@AifDaimon I feel like he would be able to keep up with him at first as he is still highly skilled. But as he is not as skilled as Batman, and uses weapons more than he does hand-to-hand[thus disarming him could put him at a dissadvantage], so without the enhanced strength and healing factor, he would eventually break and would be beaten since he would'nt be able to go it for the long haul like he normally could.
@@vergilsonofsparda2350 very good answer

I wonder how adult Damian would fair well against adult Cassandra since both have always been referred to as the strongest fighters along side Batman in the bat family
Damian no contest. He is born to be the best.Literally that's what Talia wanted

The entirety of Justice League Dark: Apocalypse War should be on that list considering how many heroes he brutally kills in that movie and what he does to the ones he does'nt kill.

i think you should have at least mentioned Vandal Savage, even is you take away his immortality, he is even older than Ra's Al Ghul, which means he would have known and mastered even more martial arts and even some that has been long forgotten.
Doesn't he have some super-strength? That would probably disqualify him as a fair fight.
@@stevenscott2136 same case as deathstroke but stronger, but unlike deathstroke, Vandal would have a 100% chance of defeating batman without his immortality and enhanced healing, speed, and strength. thats why he should a honorable mention.
Deathstroke dropping his sword and kneeling says enough about how skilled Lady Shiva is
you should have added Bane with no venom
I hope Bane is on this list
Nightwing has beaten Batman in a straight bare-knuckle fist fight in the comics. It should also be noted that Batman isn't Nightwing's only trainer. Nightwing has trained with assassins, and lived with the Teen Titans who all trained together. Plus his acrobat training, while not martial arts, it gives him an athletic edge.
Damien was trained by the best from birth. Of course an adult Damien who be the best of all.
And biologically he IS Bruce but enhanced.
He has the willpower and determination of Bruce too,but for different goals.
With a full set of plot armor, I could wipe the floor with Batman
The fact Batman is so strong just shows how strong his villains are. I mean you take on Batman and survive and fight him many times you are strong.
Keep up the good work pics the content
The thing is after batman gets beat the next time they fight he beats the crap out of them like in the dark knight rises bane beats batman then batman at the end beats him up the thing is batman's will is stronger than any person on the planet so he'll never give up and always have a backup plan
4:17-4:22 Slade was also trained by the international assassin and martial arts master *Natas.*
I reckon that fight goes back and fourth all the time overall batman has more wins and deathstroke almost always loses but he has potential to defeat him witch was probably why he was mentioned. Like in batman arkham origins no one beats that batman its like he's invincible not even lady Shiva could beat him
Lady Shiva? Just because the character Batman stated her level was unparalleled, does not mean Batman thinks she is better than him. We the readers have no idea what references Batman was making. What caveat went unsaid? "For a girl." "For a assassin." "For a warrior." "For a girl of her height and weight." And so on.

I remember in a crossover comic Batman said that Captain America could beat him in a fight
The "Death Battle" channel made a really neat battle between those 2, you should check it out if you're curious about that match-up ^^ they also did Batman vs Spider-man.

@@randallflagg3700 I seen it before I was just pointing out the comic
When you think about it, whenever Ra’s is fighting Batman he’s not holding back. But Batman is holding back so he won’t kill someone, yet Batman still wins.
It’s probably just because Batman has plot immunity but that really just goes to show how skilled Batman is that he’s able to beat a man who’s had hundreds more years of training than him and he isn’t even going all out.
You think everyone holds back in martial arts fights too?
Not aiming to kill doesn't mean you hold back at all.

More (mostly human) characters that could beat Batman:
- Bane
- Black Canary
- Batgirl (Cassandra Cain)
- Ghost Maker
- Wildcat (in his prime)
- Richard Dragon
Shouldn't this be titled people who can beat Bruce Wayne in a fight so that purely makes it hand to hand.
Wooo new vid
I think there’s a key issue with this though:
Batman always holds back in his fights, he never fights to kill people. If he did, he’d probably be the most dangerous martial artist in the DC universe.
By that logic people hold back in boxing etc
@@newhybrid101 No because boxers have gloves that prevent their blows from (usually) being deadly. Of course people do die in boxing, it’s not so common these days but it does still happen.
3:00-3:43 Funny, cause in *Batman and the Outsiders Vol 3 issue 14,* Lady Shiva stated that she would not want to cross Batman. Plus I wonder if she’d be upset if she found out that Batman always holds back his true potential and power in almost every battle he has ever been in?🤔
And in detective comics lady shiva does an arm lock to batman as the second move of that fight and mentions that she isnt killing him with that arm lock cause its more fun the her
It's hard to beat someone with so much plot armour...
@@hakksemerci9988 I know, but later on in that story arc Batman did stalemate her. Plus Shiva is his Baby’s Mama since Cassandra is Shiva’s daughter and Batman adopted Cassandra. Deathstroke has said that if Batman didnt have his no kill rule then Slade wouldnt even last 30 seconds
I think it's been proved that ghost maker is an equal match
Js.
In a comic, adult Tim Deake came back to the past and managed to hold his own against the entire Bat family
He himself said they were all better fighters than him and that he won cause he has been preparing
Hawkman (without flying), Vandal Savage (without immortality).
Honorable mentions, either because we didn't consider them or because we forgot they have what it takes goes to Richard Dragon, David Cain, The Sensei(Ra's Al Ghul's dad), Damian Dark, Jackal(from Deathstroke Knights and Dragons), The Drug Lord, Green Arrow(Oliver Queen), Heretic, and Vandal Savage.
If we were to talk about Marvel then I think Black Widow, Yelena Belenova, and Mystique
Video idea :
Best heart-to-heart moments in the DC Universe
It would be a quite interesting video to watch since there is a lot of moments like this in the comics tv shows and games
If you take Superman's powers away take all skills from Batman too.

There's one normal human who could beat batman in a fair fight knowing beforehand that he'd be fighting batman, that's Michael Holt. The comics don't address it directly. Indirectly, if you read between the lines, the comics suggest that Michael Holt is slightly more intelligent than Batman.
