I haven't done english since grade 8 and your videos got me to a 90% for AS levels in just months. I'm writing my finals in 2 days, thank you so much for all your videos!!!
You are amazing. Thanks you so much. Just a request: dont leave us stranded in our journey of this exam. Please keep making video explanations about English Language AS level. Like, everything asked in paper 1 and 2. We have exam in 2 months and I am not taking any private tutions. I am dependent on you. Please 🙏. God Bless you :)
Thank you for your kind comment :) Until those videos are out (I hope I'll be able to make at least one before the May exam, but can't make any promises due to my hectic schedule), here are two key pieces of information regarding that portion of the exam: 1. A lot of the advice that is mentioned for Text Analysis (P1Q2) applies to the reflective commentary too. Basically, you're analyzing a text again, but the main difference is that in P2Q1b (reflective commentary) the text was written by you. This means you can use a lot of the info in the existing videos for P1Q2 to guide you. 2. Because the text in P2Q1a was written by you, the quality of your analysis in P2Q1b (reflective commentary) directly depends on how well you wrote the text in 1a. To write the text well, you need to be well acquainted with the conventions of different genres, how audience shapes the language you will use and you need to use different language devices CONSCIOUSLY and ON PURPOSE, with intended effects in mind before you even start writing. That will make the analysis much easier and more meaningful. I hope this helps at least a bit. If you have any more specific questions, I'm happy to help :)
Genre or types of text: speech Rules and conventions Purpose and awareness of audience. Language devices used. Language, form and structure Analyse: how and why? No. of points.
Ma'am, how to link the individual parts of the text to the whole? Also, what are the separate parts and what are the overall parts. Also, how often do we have to link the individuals parts that we identify with overall ones? Do we have to make this link with every single language device? If yes, then wont the connection each time would sound same? How to make the connection each time different since purpose and audiece each time same.
