The video is apart of a visual album Black is King. The visual album is inspired by the remake of The Lion King movie but it’s also inspired by Beyoncé’s love of West African culture and her trying to recover her roots. I’m American and I love the idea of getting to know more about West Africa and where my ancestors came from... Beyoncé’s visual album serves as inspiration for African Americans to start their own research and begin their own journey to connecting with the continent again.
