dad had 58 sea king 12....load the engine in the trunk of the car...that 12 hp outboard pushed a bunch of rent boats in order to go on fishing trips. back then you would rent a boat(usually a lone star) for $2.00 a day. part of the child hood that sticks in the memories. i could sleep to the sound of the that engine during wide open throttle.
@JBOutboards No I don't think it is. The recoil itself is original but I've been told the pull handle is from a small 1960s Mercury (it was on the engine when I got it). It isn't flat on the back so it doesn't sit snug on the hood. I suspect the original handle looked like the one you can see on my 1958 Sea Bee in another video.
Nice running motor. It was a good day. Probably the best yet with many motors on display and 10 boats.
