Me too .My friend Rocky father is Saoul Mamby Rip and Rocky has been fighting since we were kids ...He definitely had the skills and he won the gloves in his division but lost to Keith Thurman when champion had to fight champion in the next division ..so pretty much the 147 champ had to fight the 154 champ .... He never wanted to take it seriously and take it the next level. And its crazy because because his was known and champ many door would have been opened for him just because of his lineage...

Boxing is some serious shit. I boxed a little when I was younger and always had trouble sleeping the night before we would do sparring because I was nervous.
I can only imagine what high level boxers must go through with having to worry about the making weight, plus just the fact that they're about to risk their lives once that bell rings.
Personally I think I wouldn't be able to sleep even a full hour in the days leading up to the fight.

People love to pile on AB. But real talk he always showed heart and skill. The fight vs Maidana he never laid down. He was knocked down but he always got up and kept throwing. Vs Porter he dropped Porter. His mental heath hindered him. But truth be told he was punching above his weight class. That dude might be 5’6 with his shoes on. He should have never been above 140 lbs. He ducked no one so he has my respect.

AB has always been the same. Look at his earlier fights. He was a counter puncher who could only fight on the inside. He just got exposed as he went up in weight and against better talent. He never improved or worked on technique. Naturally talented but didn't work on the craft enough.

When it comes to performing arts, the wins come in preparation. The wins come when no one is around and its just you practicing your craft and studying to sharpen. When you find yourself at a point that your soul is no longer willing to put in that work that happens behind the curtain, thats when its time to stop. Especially in boxing, your not only embarrassing yourself on a stage, your taking a beating
AB fucked off his bread, like many of us do. He needs one more lick, and boxing is the only thing he knows, like a hustler freshly released. But AB doesnt have the motivation in his soul really to live the dedicated, sacrifice it takes to be that. God bless him.

Ab had the talent but lacked the mindset, some of these qualities aren't even upto you they are innate and come out when trained , Was watching Keith Thurman the other day and the man has that sharpness and fire even when his body doesn't have it any more, AB just hit his limits and there's no shame in that. At this point he's just doing too much, the man doesn't seem to know who he is to begin with, too much playing characters for the cameras he's lost when the cameras stop following him

you have to discuss ROY JONES JR and being gun shy. The primary reason his career tanked is because something happen to him and he stop fighting... he stop throwing punches. he became a punching bag... You must discuss this. Roy jones didn't have the courage to rettire.. his pride and ego wouldn't;t let him stop and he could have eneded up punch drunkk or even seriously injured.... YOU MUST BRING IT UP in regards to AB... We should applaud AB for having the courage to walk away and get his mind right... Many will say it started with Tarver and the weight, possiibly, but that doesn't explain this failure to punch back...Look at the 3rd fight with Tarver, Roy had him on the ropes, vulnerable and backed away as if someone had a string and tugged him back. But when they talk about mental blocks, and mental spaces, Roy Jones Jr. is the example of this... HE STOP FIGHTING BACK. He stopped throwing punches... He stop defending himself. The greatest fighter we know.. the hardest thing to watch.

After the Maidana fight he was never the same. A fight he was winning the earlier rounds and started showboating. That's when I noticed things turned around. After he got knocked down from that fight, he just didn't look the same after that. Having some experience in the mental health, Bronner does show signs of mental instability. Looking in from the outside, I see a little depression combined with some type of paranoia. I think he should seek expert help and I also do think just sparring would help him get to a better place as well. Not actual fights in front of spectators, but just some light sparring sessions would probably help with his confidence, but it won't address the paranoia I think he also suffers from.
