Not all dogs eat what they chew up. My chows tear up toys but don’t eat stuff that doesn’t smell like food or/and look like it.

Yeah when Butter was a puppy we potty trained her inside her own area with crate, soft bed, potty pads etc. The square plastic mat was her potty pad

Hi, we have a 2 months old male Chow chow puppy and he looks exactly like yours. We are giving him royal canin mini puppy dry food. As per my internet search, chow chow is semi-vegetarian. The vet said commercial dry food is fine for chow chow. Do you have any food/homemade recipes advise as well as any treats recommendations ? Most of available food/treats in stores are high in proteins. Interestingly, our dog likes to eat from our coriander plant pot.

@@itsbennguyen We actually went to pick her up at 6 weeks...she can be super sweet and loving, then comes the teeth, barking and attack mode..LOL I don't know if this is a female thing since I only have male before since 1994-2021 and both didn't behave this way. This is our 2nd week with her.

I had a chowchow as a gift when I was seven. Sadly I can't play with her, I had a phobia because when I was 5 a dog bit my face(from my under eye to the side of my lip) My mom took care of Hershey(the dog) but Hershey did not last long she didn't even got the chance to have a birthday with us :((. I'm 16 now and my phobia is gone I'm currently raising a 1year old shih tzu and I hope that he can have a long life with me.

I have a question, there are people saying it's not good for chows to be held in certain climate areas for example Europe... Would it be animal cruelty to have a chow in middle Europe?
I am not quite sure about the weather in middle Europe but chow chows are not recommended for hot weather countries, though we are living in the south of Vietnam which is constantly hot all year around. Butter, during the day, stays in air conditioned room so she is well and healthy.
