I looked away for a little bit and missed the entire video. My God. Your Doomguy is covered in astroglide or something, holy shit. And using the "grab" method to flip the switch behind the yellow door in MAP17... Holy shit, amazingly done all around.
I was shocked to see the mistake on Dead Simple. The fact that that happened and you still beat Looper by a second really shows the potential for a even lower times. But to get it all perfect in one run.... that's the struggle.
The mistake on downtown was even more shocking. While I think there are other people capable of getting WR, I don't think enyone else would be able to do it on the run like this.
Current best time is held by Looper at 17:29. Almost half a minute faster and I think it can be done even faster than that. Although maybe no one is willing to try. Don't know how many tries go into this. I saw Loopers run and there were many things that could have gone faster.
This legend just keeps getting better and better. He keeps improving and optimizing his runs. It has no end. That’s what I love about him and Doom. There’s always a way to improve. It’s a gift that keeps on giving. Well done, Zero! Merry Christmas!

I find it ironically funny and amazing how, even though we have these "amazing new game engines with quality design and graphic production", it all still pales in comparison to the great Father of FPS's, Doom. Amazing run! Hope to see more

I've watched MANY Zero Master runs, but I've never seen anyone control Doom Guy like he does. The precision he has with the controls and navigating the map/coordinates of a room is like he actually IS Doom Guy in the rooms/areas... almost as to how WE (the viewers) would control our own body in actual reality/physical-space. It's majestic talent/ability.
It's amazing to me that you can take a nearly *_thirty_* year-old game, scale up the resolution a bit, and still have a fantastic experience like this in 2020. Compare it to what else was coming out at the time. It's just outrageously good.

ZeroMaster tends to trade the world records in Doom speedrunning back and forth with some other guys, like 4shockblast, Looper, Ancalagon, Stx-Vile, etc, there's a small group of extremely skilled runners who can in many cases actually compete with ZeroMaster. If you wanna see something real crazy however, look up his Nightmare difficulty speedrun of Plutonia, that's actually something that nobody but him has ever done single segment.
