- For today's video I decided to paint an old wood chair that I found at a yard sale a few weeks ago, and give some other items from my stash a new look, too! I used Sweet Pickins milk paint, DIY paint, and transfers from IOD and ReDesign by Prima.

Hi Rachel, I think the curry colored paint is beautiful…adding the black wax enhanced it even more. Perfect for anytime of the yr but especially for fall. The chair is GORGEOUS ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️That black is stunning . The way you placed the flowers 💐 was perfection. The chair probably sold already…wouldn’t be suprised. Glad to hear your back home. As the ol’ saying goes…There’s no place like home. My prayers go out to all 🐞

Cut slits in your clear transfer sheet and then only lay down about an inch wide section at a time of the transfer when placing on a curved surface. It really helps. You can even cut away some of the plastic as you go so it's more bendable. Your projects are ALWAYS STUNNING regardless of any faux pas!

Liked your arrangement on the chair, very nice indeed. On the candle holders I liked the part where it crackled tiny cracks and didn't get chipped off. On the picture and frame I would liked to have seen the mat painted. . .the green mat same color as frame and then the next two painted in a soft yellow to match the sunflowers,

I love the candle sticks! They remind me both of fall and retro 70's/early. 80's which is coming back ❤ I love the paint choice on that print, but I'm not a fan of that blue mat. It would look so much prettier and up to date with maybe an off white mat? OMG... My granny and gpa had those same exact chairs that you just redid. They have both passed, so that brought back such good memories ❤

I live here on the west coast, well.... in Longview, Washington and it's a good thing I live here, lol because if I lived in Spokane I'd be broke every month. I like the color of the candle holders with the dark wax. I prefer the deeper muted colors over the cottage colors. Perfect choice for fall decor.

I really like the curry color. I wish I could find it in a non-chippy version. Your projects are so nice!! I just recently found you! So glad I did!!
Well I'm glad you found me!! Thank you!! And you can absolutely keep the paint from chipping if you add Extra Bond to the paint when you mix it! I would still probably suggest not putting it over uncured spray paint, but with the extra bond, milk paint will stick to basically anything. :)
@theeclecticcottagespokane you're the only crafter I watch who uses the extra bond. Everybody else seems to want it to crackle, or take their chances on what they get! I appreciate this info as I don't always want the chippiness.
@cassfonnesbeck8057 Milk paint does tend to have a little of its own personality at times. What I have personally experienced with my furniture pieces is that as long as I use the extra bond in my paint (and in every coat of paint), I rarely get any chippy. And if there is a little, it is normally inconspicuous enough to blend in with a little distressing or a darker wax....
I loved the chair, but also the candle holders, I have some going to try the milk paint too, and black oil, never used it before.

I really like the curry paint color. It gives "neutral " colors a little pop without losing focus on other items in the decor. I think the dark wax gave it a good final touch. 👍👍

On the candlesticks, I like the color, but I think a brown wax would have been better. They will sell if you put a pretty candle in them, for color. Like ochre or coco brown or buttery yellow.

I the color of the candle sticks is very pretty, i liked it a lot better after the black wax, i absolutely love, love, the chair it is stunning. And i love the color on the picture frame, but i dont care for the picture, its just not my style. To busy i think. God bless.

Is not a problem is the color that you painted it that yellow or whatever it's called is not really a color that Everyone likes that was a fifties color in the fifties so if you'da done more like a a grey green or gray or off-white or something it would have been a lot better I think I'm just I was born in the 50s so that's a color that I don't really care to use anymore
I agree that it's not a color everyone likes, but thankfully there are quite a few that do. :) I don't think it will ever become a favorite of mine, though . . . lol.
I Hate the Color Rachael , but I really like you, ok just telling u my opinion, I am not Fond of the Chipping , anyway, I like soft yellow, I know Green is in, but I Hate the Color, I am 65 and probably Out Of Style, I Love Blue and Whites and Peach
