Yeah that scammer is so common on tourist places especially if it is a famous spot for international tourist. That's why don't touch or receive anything from these street seller because they will charge you a ridiculous money. Just go to the official store that display their goods. This people have guts because they have alot of people that doing the same there. If you can't back them down, just ask the passing by people (it will be good if you meet a local too) and ask them to back you up because they usually ashamed if they make the scene bigger. It's happened recently in my country Indonesia (where mika also coming from) that a tourist recently being charged by a horseman for taking panoramic video behind him and his horse. That went viral and in the end that horseman make apologize video lol.
What i want to said is don't ever give a f*ck with this people because you just bring yourself down for being a pushover infront of them. These people truely nuts

"Sibling"
he was right to say what he said honestly, it's a scam so it's understandable, him giving older brother energy bc Mika was sacred
The more I listen to this story the more it sounds like the flower girl chose them on purpose. She must've done that to several people before. With most of them just giving her the money. I've heard stories like this from my uncle before, who's a seaman. Like, one time, a guy asked them if he can take a photo of him and his friend. They agreed, but after the photo was taken the guy asked them to pay him.
That flower scam thing is very common in bigger/touristy Europan cities, sadly. When we went on school trips our teachers always explicitly warned us not to take flowers if people offer them, too...
They did this to my brother in the Dominican Republic too, it's kinda like a forced transaction where they throw the product at you and ask you to pay for it. Only reason they got my brother was because he was drunk lol.
He came back to the hotel room and asked me for cash, i asked why, he explained, then grabbed a half drunk bottle of Rum and asked me if he could trade the rum for the bracelet.
its a common scam tack tick they use on mostly tourists. offer then ask for money and when you refuse they justify it by saying you agreed to take it first
@@emirucchi when they say to pay them and you actually got no money
@@oguubear fr, that would be sooo funny. ty for the idea. if i ever were to get targeted by these scammers, i’m gonna tell them that i got no money with me, that it’s in the hotel or something. if they keep following me, i’ll walk to the closest police station, police officer or guard(?), and hopefully it will scare them off.
Honestly, it's actually really telling just how angry Mysta was, as someone who was really poor that he and his mom had to go to community feeding programs, that he cursed out that woman so that she could go away from them. Idk about anyone else, but that just tells me that Mysta, despite once being in a (I assume) similar situation as the flower lady, would never go so far as to scam an innocent bystander.
there are actually so many people that are not in such a position. They are poor yes, but especially on tourist sites you can see the majority of those scammers earning their money for someone else. They truly don't hold back i've seen them using their children to beg for money when stuff didn't work out by themselfes. I've also seen them trying to distract people with their desperate children begging for money while they try to steal money. There really is no shame for those people.
In comparison most Homeless people i saw and got to know better get by with much less money (like wth 20 Pounds? that's at least half a week of food for them) and they don't beg desperately or try to scam other people out of their money. They just seach for a place to sit and ask for a little help. They don't follow their "targets" and nag them all the time to get what they want.
@@Desgaroth This. There are entire underground mafias whose sole operation is to make kids beg for them, and then they only pay those kids scraps. One of my aunts had once very nearly inducted into one of these rings, and she taught me that if you see a really persistent beggar, especially children, give them food or drink, or anything else that is not outright money. If you give them money, 90% of it will go to the beggar mafia ring. If you give them outright food or drink, the kids would usually eat it on the spot or after you leave, and actually enjoy it themselves.
@@standard-carrier-wo-chan My parents and I have this rule since we have a lot of poverty here. If anyone is asking for money and they look homeless, just give them food or drink but never money. Sometimes the person isn’t actually that poor, like yeah they live in a shabby house at the side of the road but they do actually have a roof over their heads and food on their table. They just try to see if they can luck out and trick tourists into giving them a 500 or 1,000. And most of the time, that money was used to buy drugs or alcohol. So I never gave any beggars money. I would go to the nearest shop and buy like a sandwich and water then give it to them.
he have the right to be angry and say that, it's literally a forced payment, not a right thing to do, basically a scam
Yea if the lady just came and asked them if they wanted to buy flowers because shes hungry im pretty sure they wouldve given her the money and there would be no drama.
She forced Mika to pay therefore she doesnt deserve nice treatment. Im proud of Mysta for being so cool and protecting Mika.
This is why I always ask "how much?" before accepting those things.
Usually followed by "I'll give you a tenner" regardless of the price they named.
If that scammer tried this in Florida on the east coast or south east coasts, that would be a news headline for Florida Man

@@alriceridan3638 honestly I could see that happen 😂😂😂

as a fellow introvert and non confrontational person, i know that exact feeling mysta! its like, you dont wanna do anything, but then you see someone you care about is doing worse than you with the situation and suddenly its like ALRIGHT WE IN THIS BITCH NOW
Yeah, especially since his story clearly highlights that this person isn't homeless,
But rather a French style scam artist.
Which is just despicable and irredeemable.
Ngl, me and my friend had a similar experience back in 2018. Me and my friend were just quietly walking down the street, going to the supermarket to buy some food for the store we had then suddenly this lady "bumped" into my friend and started asking my friend to pay her "ruined necklace" worth 300 pesos (I believe this is almost 6 dollars when converted into US Dollars). When my friend didn't give her the money because she don't have any, she started yelling, making a scene on the streets so of course people would start to look at us. We still ignored her and crossed the street towards the supermarket.
We didn't know the lady had followed us to the entrance of the supermarket and she suddenly grabbed my friend by the shoulder and this time, she's now forcing my friend to pay for her necklace, which honestly, looked really cheap since it's a plastic necklace, one typically you'd get free from cosmetic brand magazines or whatnot. Anyways, back to the story, since the lady started to get aggressive, I decided to body block my friend because I realized that the lady purposely targeted my friend because she's wearing a fancy looking outfit. So yeah, I body blocked my friend so the lady wasn't able to hurt my friend. A policeman showed up, who happened to be guarding near the supermarket and intervened. He told us to run away because he clearly saw how much we're in danger so we did what he asked and probably ran to the other side of the supermarket.
Obviously, we'd stop so we can catch our friend but nope, the lady still didn't give up. She still followed us and grabbed my friend by the hair and pulled her a bit away from me. Since this was unexpected, my friend accidentally dropped her sling bag and seeing this, the lady let go of my friend and tried to grab the bag, fortunately I was really close to the bag so I immediately stomped on her hand and grabbed the bag. The nearby vendors also now aided us when they realized what's happening and tried to pull the lady away from us once again. One of the vendors was able to call the supermarket staffs so we are then brought to the supermarket's office in order to talk about what really happened.
When we got to the office, the lady immediately started talking and twisting the story, how we were the ones who are trying to scam her and went violent. But when the staffs viewed the CCTV, the lady started tearing up and crying because it just so happened that the entrance of the supermarket has a CCTV and caught basically the start of the assault. The policeman was also with us in the office so they were able to ask him if what the lady was telling is a lie and he confirmed that we were the ones being assaulted. At this moment, my friend's parents came and waited for us outside the office. When they were bringing the lady out to bring her to the police station, including us since we're the assaulted, she suddenly "fainted and seizing". Unfortunately for the lady, my friend's father is a doctor so he was able to tell that the lady's only faking.
All in all, my friend pressed charges against the lady. We also found out from the vendors that the lady's been doing that for a long time.
So sorry this happened to both of you!! Pls stay safe
I'm sorry that all of that happened to you and your friend, but I can't help but laugh at how everything was against the lady. She picked the wrong target to scam.
Holy shit that's rly scary, i get scared just reading ur story. It must've been much more scarier when experiencing it yourself! And u should really gave a lot of credit for yourself, you act fast with the fallen bag cause i know that I'll be too shock and took awhile to think if that happened to my friend. You also immediately protect ur friend, that's rly awesome. Hope you and your friend is alright too, hopefully that doesn't traumatized them too much since it unfortunately happened during an everyday normal situation.
@@tan_2190 oh yeah, whenever we remember this, she never misses the chance to remind and tease me how pale I was that time because it's the first time she actually saw me scared.

I've heard that this is an actual tourist scam that often happens in France or something. There are people who would give you flowers like it was free but then demand payments.
That, and keychains/those little fridge magnets. They'll say "for you!" And the moment you take it they'll ask for money. Another common trick is to get you to sign for a charity donation and these people are the worst-- they work in groups, they hide and then suddenly appeared, they will block your way and they won't let you go unless somebody else intervened (preferably the police).
I’ve seen this in France and I had someone literally grab me by the wrist and try to tie a bracelet around it and then ask for money. We were on a school holiday and my friend went ballistic on them before the teacher even noticed lol
French scammers are notoriously obnoxious,
However taking your phone out of your pocket is a surprisingly effective scare tactic,
Since they don't want you to take their picture..
@@BramLastname And more often than you think they are actually not french people. They are those type of scammer in all the "great" country of EU and they more than often not from the country where they are scamming people.
@@loupnoir10 I know,
It's just called that because everyone knows there's a lot of them in Paris,
But obviously they're not exclusive to France.
I can totally understand why Mysta got into protective mode. Mika has social anxiety which she mentioned on her side of the story. For scammers and con artists like this to take advantage of people is ridiculous.😡
His stuttering and the way he repeats himself is just so cute to me☺️
It's so sweet for me to hear how protective he was, and how seeing Mika scared made him act. He's such a good person, really
Mika gave $26 to some crazy lady to make her go away and was absolutely terrified and the lady kept demanding more. Good on Mysta for being aggressive!

@@Scar4m0uch1 around here they're sometimes referred to as French style scams,

Vietnam too?? I’m a Vietnamese but I’ve never experienced nor heard about anything like that. The only kind of scam I know is souvenir sellers and taxi drivers asking for high fee because foreigners aren’t accustomed to Vietnam’s currency.
i just genuinely love and grow such respect for people who protect others when they notice how in trouble they are, like Mysta said he's not confrontational but went out of his way to try and get Mikas money back, i really respect that.

I would have been like Mika in that situation, even if I couldn't afford it. I literally can't handle confrontations, I cease the fuck up and just do whatever people tell me to do.
As a rule of thumb,
If you're gonna pay your way out,
Give them 10 and leave.
People who deserve the money won't bother you,
The rest are scam artists who already make too much money.

SAME I SAW IT TOO LIKE I WAS SO MAD 🙃
When I went to Italy and Greece, I distinctly remember our tour guide telling us not to take anything somebody freely gives us because they’re probably a scammer.
It also kind of reminds me of this scary incident that happened in my hometown. I had just pulled up to get some boba after a long day of work. When I exited my car, there was a peddler right there waiting for me. He was on a bike and had a big bag of almonds. He kept insisting I take the almonds. It sounded like he wasn’t very good at English, so all I could reply with was “no”. And when it looked like my words weren’t getting to him, I made an X with my arms to physically express my thoughts. That whole interaction felt like it took 5 or 10 minutes even though it probably wasn’t anywhere near that number. Confrontational people like that scare the hell out of me. My hometown isn’t a tourist destination and a lot of middle-to-upper class people live here, so I never would have expected running into somebody like that. That just goes to show this type of scam can happen to anybody and not just tourists.
I LOVE HOW HE TREATS MIKA LIKE HIS OWN SISTER 😭❤️ THATS SO CUTE OMG

It's such a well known scam here in Europe as well. Thankfully I had a brother to tell me how to behave in these situations "in the big city" and how to be assertive otherwise I would have been confused the first time as well. Just don't even acknowledge them, and if they try to push stuff in my hand I let it fall to the ground. It seems brutal but you literally have to ignore that they exist.

I encountered something like this years ago. This happened to me and my mother. I didn’t take the flower though because I thought it’s sus. I tried to told my mother to not receive it but it’s too late. And that flower lady was very furious. As my mom tried to put the flower back into her hand, she scratched my mom’s hand! Perhaps because there were just me, a kid, and my mom that made she got even cockier. I remember how mad I was, about that lady and my mother. I was not that scared there. All I could think was go fking away, but I was just a brat at that time! Fortunately, she went away because the guide and other tourists in the group came to us.
I was mad about my mother because of her unvigilant behavior, especially in foreign countries. I was just worried about her fyi

Ok so I kinda had a similar experience where I was on vacation with my mom and outta nowhere a Woman also approached us. She legit threw two scarfs on my mom’s shoulder and asked for like around 100 US dollars in our currency. We were also pretty fucking clueless to what’s happening since she was just staring at us waiting for something as if we owe her anything. We refused to buy whatever she threw at us but THEN she refused to take the scarfs back(???). In the end we walked back to our hotel with the two scarfs while she was following us, she was stopped at the entrance though. Then came tomorrow I learnt that many people were scammed like this in this specific tourist area. Still mad till today since she was not only rude to my mom but also so fucking clingy following us and even chasing us so I can understand Mysta.

This is actually a really big problem in London. It’s happened twice to me and both times in highly touristy areas. I didn’t think it was a big deal but I’ve been hearing that it’s been happening way more and in different places too in the UK. Real frustrating, I’m glad Mysta stood up but the fact that it’s gone up to 20 quid when back in December I was scammed out of 5 is pretty scary to think about.
