A chaotic time, as civil war breaks out across the country, while they fight for France itself against Europe. I’m happy to see this era before Napoleon get some needed recognition.
Epic History should be the standard to follow and im glad it's inspired such content with the due recognition given. Keep going, you have our attention.
I cant describe the level of happiness when I understood that finally there will be a channel eager to cover the French Revolutionary Wars. I really thank you. Keep it up!
Amazing video! I'm so glad there's finally some Epic History TV style content on the French Revolutionary wars. Subscribed and looking forward to more!
Exactly, such underrated battles and political developments before and parallel to Napoleon... Can i suggest, whenever possible, placing the names of the division generals in the flags?
Great Video! I always wanted to know more about the revolutionary wars(excluding all of Napoleon's battles) You have earned yourself another subscriber!
Thank you for doing a video on Valmy! It’s arguably one of the most important battles in history, and I had no idea Louis Philippe took part in this event. I’m very glad to have come across your video! Instantly subbed!
The Revolutionary Wars are utterly fascinating yet always neglected despite the recent upswing in videos on Napoleon etc. Here's a subscribe just for doing this
This is a great video and I’ve seen many creators trying to replicate epic history, which is great, but I would say, what really lets them down is the narrators accent. I can understand that this might be something that is impossible to change when the channel is in its infancy but if you gained traction then I would seriously look at getting all your videos a new narrator 👍
In my opinion, the Battle of Valmy deserves to be acknowledged as a significant event, not just in the context of the Revolutionary Wars but also in European history. Its outcome led to the National Convention declaring the end of the Bourbon monarchy of France, and the birth of the French First Republic.
Wow, very nice! This your first video I have watched, dont know about others (will check them out) But, with more detailed battle anumations, you know, tacktics, movment of troops, longer videos, between 15-20 mins minimum and so on, this channel have a potensial! good luck and thx!
Excellent video. One thing, I would like it if you put the division's commander over the unit - when you know who they are of course. Also, you're the best American narrator I've heard.
Whao great video 😍I hope to see more videos like this that cover some of the campaigns of the French revolutionary wars such as the Flanders campaign or the Rhine campaign of 1796. I'm def subscribing.
As a curious fact, Francisco de Miranda participated in this battle. Who would become one of the precursors of the independence of Venezuela, Colombia and other territories, against Spain. Miranda reached the rank of Marshal of France under the command of Charles François Dumouriez. During the campaign he participated in the battles of Argonne, Wargemoulin, Antwerp, Liege, Tongres, Paliemberg and Valmy, where he became second chief of the northern army, from which he would separate due to major differences with Dumouriez after having withdrawn his troops in Maastricht. His end was tragic despite his political and military career. Well, despite serving the French Revolution, he was imprisoned several times and decided to leave. Later in America he dedicated himself to making them independent from Spain, but he died in prison after confronting Simon Bolívar.
I’m really fond of the epic history style nice to see it being down on an under covered part of history. I have long wondered on the campaigns before the rise of Napoleon
Thanks for the details, Had heard it wasn't much of a Battle and more the Allies just giving up. On another note, one of the biggest problems for the First French Constitutional Republic was that all the politicians who had an idea how it could work (it's designers) altruistically (and naively) quit and refused to help make it work. At that point, all the fringe politicians took over who had little interest in doing so.
It’s a market of supply and demand; EpicHistory doesn’t want to show it, so I have no issue with others entering the market to do so. If you have a problem, then wait for EpicHistory to release it instead of putting down creators works
damn man you just started your channel and are already like 75% of the way to epic history TV. also while i have your attention, biography on Maurice de Saxe? he was a great french military tactician around this time, geard plenty of references to him but dont know much about him
Can you create more videos like these battles that Epic history doesn't create it, it will give us more knowledge about the battles during the revolution
Thank you, it was great, I hope that in the future you will make videos about the wars after the Battle of Valmy , the decisive revolutionary wars, the Battle of Jemappes ( 1792 ) and the Battle of Fleurus ( 1794 )
I have been hoping for Epic History style videos on the French Revolutionary Wars for SO LONG, this is a great surprise
After effects? Just wondering

YES what an excellent start to a series on a very underappreciated part of history. Can't wait to see what follows, this is awesome work.
The narrator will never be on the same level, but the animations are roughly on par.
Incredibly done, even more so for such a small channel
Great Video!

Thx for this great video
I hope you'll continue this epic work
Revolutionary France won its wars against coalitions of European powers, with a civil war in France against the royalists.
In my opinion, the Battle of Valmy deserves to be acknowledged as a significant event, not just in the context of the Revolutionary Wars but also in European history.
Its outcome led to the National Convention declaring the end of the Bourbon monarchy of France, and the birth of the French First Republic.
