@@lisaw6610 Yes there is quite a lot, which i've heard is very common right now for mexico. The resort works hard daily to clean it up at 6am with trucks and tractors. There is nets also in the ocean which i think helps somewhat. Hope this helps.

Ive stayed here 2x and Mazatlan is amazing city with real culture colonial Mexico. The resort is 3 properties 1 is a golf club resort the others are beach and Marina. The dining options are plentiful and even tried the non inclusive italian and had the best pizza of my life. Got on some speed boats and of course enjoyed the driving range and the course grounds quite a bit! :)
Yes! We actually went as a couple then ended up returning with our toddler! There is a kids and teens club. Lots of activities daily for the kids. You can bring floaties for the pool also and for 1$usd they will blow it up at the main pool. Bring your own life jackets as none available there for kids. Hope this helps 🙂
FIRE_FIST_AXCE yes will be busy season... all restaurants will be open, we just went first week of November again and half of the restaurants were closed. Tip they have an app and you can make 1 dinner reservation one week before you go. I recommend you sign up for the bike tour at the towel bar near main pool, included with your stay 🙂
On The Marina side you are able to swim, I was there in June and the waves were quite strong so I didn't do nothing crazy. But if you are not experienced with heavy surf or wanna show off its dangerous and they will come talk to you.

Can you please comment on the resort’s cleaning of the algae problem?

Question:Do you think going in January is a good idea?

Can you swim in the beach?
You can but depending what time of year you go there can be a build up of seaweed along the shoreline. The water is not very clear here.
