Yet another great video! I did all the steps mentioned here with my last pup when he was just 9 wks old. He loved, loved, loved his SUP. We would take him on the boat & to the Bahamas all the time. He couldn’t wait till I would put the SUP out. Now training my new pup the same way. BTW that is the PFD that I use on my pup (Boxers), the handle & the way it secures on your pup is top notch - more importantly the handle is perfect for assisting to pull out of the water. Even an adult Boxer at water level. Safety first. 🚣🏻♂️🏄🏻♀️🛟🌊
Thanks for the video! We've had some hot weather this week (yep, even Canada gets hot summer weather lol) and we had the opportunity to use our neighbors' pond a couple of times. They have a kayak and i was thinking how cool it would be to teach Skidboot to ride in it.
@@DoggyU Skidboot went on his first kayak adventure this week. We did some prep work on dry land, no issues whatsoever. I think riding on ATVs a lot helps. Once in the water he took to it like a pro. Fun!
Awesome! I still haven’t been paddle boarding but I’m interested in getting one of the inflatable kayak/paddle board hybrids someday maybe so it can go on trips with me more easily.
Thanks Laura. Quick question: Is there a way to reset without throwing food on the floor if your dog is going to be a service/assistance dog and therefore eating off the floor is undesirable?
So I actually have never had an issue with a dog scavenging more from using treat tossing. It used to be something people warned against, but I simply put eating food on cue, and that solves any confusion (ie. I often train with open bowls of food on the ground to teach automatic leave it behaviors). But, if you’re concerned, take a large Tupperware container or a bowl if you have good aim, and toss your food into that instead. I’ve successfully used that modification for clients who had similar concerns. If you want to learn more about food delivery methods and putting eating on cue, check out this deep dive I did over on Patreon: www.patreon.com/posts/104734939? Hope that helps!

Great tips! Our K9, Kenny was a bit intimidated by his first SUP experience but is adapting well. I hope to go out again this weekend.
Yay! Have an awesome paddle!
Thank you so much for the video! there's a fantastic place near me that's located safely under a dam that is a perfect speed for learning how to swim
Yayy! Happy paddling!
