Yes you can do layering just don't use the white paint and do your design in layers meaning do one design and then pour epoxy layer and then put your design again and then keep repeating the process for the required design or layers..and keep all the epoxy transparent so that your design is visible. You can use artificial flowers or different trinkets for design...but it will take time for every layer to cure so be patient.

Yes you can do it on top of the granite also, you must wear a mask while applying the epoxy resin after drying there will be no problem.
