- Welterweight Jack Della Maddalena put on a show in the Octagon as he secured a three-round victory over Ange Loosa via unanimous decision on Season 5 of Dana White's Contender Series, earning him a UFC contract. Maddalena makes his UFC debut at UFC 270 where he faces Pete Rodriguez on Saturday.

Guy has great boxing skill but then doubles it with the evasive ground game. Very impressive fighter. Looks like a fucking monster of a man too.
Great footwork and cage awareness as well, always evades and circles away from the cage when he gets too close.

@@pokemonovice9758 if everyone was saying "this guy puts on exciting fights and I'm really excited to see more of them" I wouldn't say anything, but the idea that he's making it anywhere near the top 15 is hilarious unless the UFC gives him a huge layup. Ponzi is ranked 14 and he's looking a little shop worn but he's the only person ranked in his division that he has any chance of beating and that's a big if.

That knee in the second round by Della didn't look low to me, it looked to land SQUARELY in the lower abdomen..
Same that wasn't low and it was off to the side like it would hit off to the sides of your pubes.

Outstanding performance by Jack Della! He’s definitely got the potential to be a top contender in the future. Ange Loosa is as tough as nails though. Took all those heavy, potential KO shots and still fought through it like a warrior. Kind of disrespectful his name isn’t in the title… Ange needs to work on his stand up game and grappling if he wants to succeed. Nevertheless, Great fight and best of luck to both of em!

Most perfect way to end the fight for jdm get up and put a stamp on the fight. Annoying commentary from Laura sanko saying ange loose was landing a lot in the third round but it really was maddalena rolling with almost every punch

Banger fight but the commentators weren’t giving loosa his props. He stood in there and banged with this dude and had his great moments but they were looking at it one sided. Not saying he won or anything.

almost looks like it got him in the hip flexor which would really hurt bad, he wasnt faking the pain for sure

I just seen the first match ever of him today for UFC 270 and at the start when he Said “No” and rejected the glove touch n the look on his before the match started, as well as alittle after the match started I thought hey he reminds me of Nate diaz for some reason lol.
I googled it afterwards to see who else sees that comparison n i find others also seen it during his contender series days as well as his coaches calling him the Australian Nate diaz too 😂
