I hate debating over the Word of God, but tell me you don't praise Him when you're in bed at night, and you do sleep in the dark, or not? We are to praise God at all times, in spirit and in truth. I'm sure He receives all praises directed to Him! For he will not cast away those who come to Him.

This blessing has to do with our restoration of the fall of mankind. That we may be all that God has intended for us to be just like he has set out to do from the very beginning (Gen. 1:26-28). Confessing that you dont't want Blessings is like saying "God I dont actually want to be like you but just to have you". That is a big difference and deception of the devil.
I was there with all my young team that very same day on live. I really changed our life.
I glorified my Savior for such a wonderfull blessing i'm sure we will never forget to keep growing in His presence and love.

Five years ago I wrote this:
1. "Open up the sky, fall down like rain?" The Rain of Waters is already in us (John 4:14), we must allow it to burst out like a fountain, touching and convincing others of Gods goodness greatness and Grace of the everlasting Life He has promised with Joy and the Peace of God we received through the Holy Spirit.
2. "We dont want Blessings???" How about: "We want All Blessings and we want You?" Eph. 1:3 says, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with every spiritual Blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,...".

4. We are a people who are called to be part of the King (Jesus) of Kings (You and I) and the Lord (Jesus) of Lords (You and I) (Rev. 19:16). So take your place in Him (Rev. 22:14) and start confessing the word of God and see it come to pass in Jesus Name (Mat. 18:18-19).

I still stand at my point of what I have written here. Deluge sings songs of great commitment of sacrement. It is good but can you also utter the same very words when the situations around you changes and gets really tough? Or would you lift up your voice as Jobs wife did and turn your back on God? In Proverbs it reminds us that when we come to God, let our words be few, lest God would hold accountable for our to many words of promises we utther unto Him.
Even when writing and singing songs you should be consequent what you are writing and singing. For example the song begins with: "...Father please come down and meet us, ...we are waiting on your touch. Open up the heavens, pour out your presence..." This is wrong and not bilblical, unless you don't believe that his presence has already came down (Immanuel in the flesh) and He did what he did to restore mankind relationship with God back again and sent an Agent to guide us through this new and strange process to cope with (Rom. 11:30; 12:1-8). And 'IF' we are willing, the Agent is willing also to work with us and make as we should be ready to meet God.
We are actually insulting the Holy Spirit that is here to work with us and for us. Jesus said I will not leave you as orphans but send you a Helper. He knows our every weakness (Rom. 8). His job is to work with us, to prepare us to meet Jesus (Ephians 4:7-16). Look carefully at verse 13; to a perfect man, to the measure and stature of the fullness of christ.
The song is beautiful and your inttentios are good. But don't be naief, as you get older (adult) make adjustments in your life as an adult. Thus change the sentences in honoring God for His redemption work and also the gift of the Holy Spirit that has already came down which has been poured out on all that believes and will continue to pour out in every heart that is willing to receive Him through our Lord, Jesus Christ.
I gave you a thumbs-up because I respect your revelation.
However, you are in a position that every thing else doesn't matter - You just want more of God. I think I am in that position - have seen his hand. I am doing a number of church work and prosperity is all around but right now.... I just miss knowing more of God.
So you see, that line falls in with me. (I don't want blessings, I want You).
2. Open up the sky, fall down like rain? I think you are right.
The God I seek to come to me is already within. So I desire him to increase in me from within.
He is not coming from up. He is already here.
Truly ...I want nothing more after I got Christ I don't want HIM AND ONLY HIM..Christ has fill me up with His everything ....I feel so blessed How God changed me from who I was and who I am now .. praise The Lord everyone ..let Him get all the praise which He deserves ...

It seems to me that the song is a prayer asking for the presence of God and asking to be in His presence, to see Jesus, to receive a touch from God, to go before His throne. Yeah we could consider all these things blessings but I think it has more to do with God Himself and when he says we don't want your blessings he means material blessings in opposition to the blessing of having God!

I remember thinking the same thing when I heard this song....I want blessings! I think what the writer is saying here is...what is the point of having blessings if you don't have God. Some people only want God for his blessings or for what he can give them.

this is how i understand it, "we seek not the blessing but the Blessor." The Bible says, "seek first His kingdom & His righteousness and all these things shall be given unto you."
I really love this song :D:D:D We sang it at youth camp in our choir. It's such a pure song - and the message is powerful above all. "We WON'T be satisfied with anything ordinary - we WONT be satisfied at all" That tag line just really puts it into perspective what we need to say in time like today - Im tired of pple just being satisfied for the ordinary and the wickedness of life. What he means is dont search for blessings....search for Him. So many of us "want" things from God. If we would search for Him, He will pour out blessings. As for the Fire, It is also cleansing us from sin.

We've had the MOST INCREDIBLE moves of God playing this song even in different churches. This is one of the most powerful, well put together Christian songs EVER. And it sums up exactly what we should all be pursuing. Jesus Himself!
lots of the newer churches are like things because believe it or not the lights and darkness and concert feel makes the music more powerful because u feel more to you self so you can be as worshipful as you want w/o worrying about what people think plus this looks more like a actual concert at least to me lol

I really don't know what all this talk is about the song being for children. All I know is it's for me. The song grabbed my heart b/c it rings true. I am hungry for God more than any blessing He has given. I have known Him intimately and I miss Him. I know personally that there is nothing better to have than Him.

i love this song, in fact the whole cd is excellent, although the music and lyrics are good, it isn't about that, its about the heart of the worshipper. This guy and his band worship in spirit and in truth, that's why its so great, you can feel the annointing of the Holy Spirit.

Seek the blesser not the blessings. Blessings are temporary but a relationship with the blesser means that even when blessings fade you have the provider of all blessings right there at all times!

@rileysnugget I may be misunderstanding you, I apologize if I am, but I have personally found that praising God, is praising God, no matter where you are, I praise God in the shower, brushing my teeth, going for a job, and enough in the comfort of my bed, as I'm drifting off to sleep. We can't put our God in a box, why put the way we praise Him, in one?
