- Long Beach to Two harbors is 22 miles across pacific ocean that reaches depths of 3000 feet. Our small 90hp motor only used 9 gallons of fuel and we took about 1.4 hours from dock to dock.

Yes, there are several ferry trips per day to the island, but its a very low population there and only 1 real town there that people visit.
i have the same boat as well, however with 60hp motor. Do you think that is enough for me to Catalina from Newport Beach?
Yes, I think its fine. Its rare that water conditions allow full throttle crossing anyhow, so no need for all that horsepower. Its more comfortable to go slower and less noise.
What HP motor do you have on your Bayliner? If you had to buy again would you? Seems to be a great boat for the value
Its a 90 HP mercury. I would buy again as the value is perfect for the trips I do. A big thing with any boat is the routine maintenance that must be done for prolonged safe operations, which most people ignore or don't spend the time doing.
