A very good thing, but I feel like I heard the following dialogue: 😉 - “OK, how short and with how little capacity should our trainsets be which will run on this popular international connection?” - PESA: “Yes”. - “And how often should this train run per day?” - PESA “Yes”.
I did it this summer. It was a nightmare. The distance of just 300km, over 4h ride. I'm glad that the train was modern and comfortable, but it is insane that 20 years after accession to the EU, Baltic states couldn't develop a fast reliable link between all three capitals. I know that Rail Baltica is one form or another under construction, but all the latest news seem to prove that this project will never be completed in a high speed profile. It's a real shame cause the link has a potential. A huge potential.
It was mainly Latvia that was stalling with the Rail Baltica project, because the Riga loop costs too much. Now they've decided to pull out for some time and the project will continue as planned and at least Estonia and Lithuania will be connected with the fast-track connection, with Riga joining in later.

@@arturnowacki867 You seem to live in delusion of what's possible with the current Baltic budgets, given the fact they're small countries and there's a war right next to us. Nothing will happen quickly and priorities are different at the moment. Train connections are already pretty great at least in Lithuania and the ticket prices cheap, compared to what's available in the rest of Europe. If you don't know our reality, don't comment on it.
@@m.m.6670 Why pursue a project that you cannot afford? Rail Baltica will not be completed in 2040, if at all. That is the (sad) reality. So there is a pressing need to address the transportation demand in a REALISTIC way. Why only five trains per day Vilnius-Klaipeda? Make it ten trains, cut the travel time from 4h to 2,5h, cut the price by 40% and really give local people what they deserve. You have no clue how trains work in Europe, so don't comment on it.

I am just wondering whether the DR series seen upon arrival in Riga is still in regular service ...
