Just wait until I can announce where I’m working this Winter + Summer… but yes the entire point of the video is my resume template itself is what’s carrying me not the experience. Makes the video a lot more relatable to 99% of those looking for a job!
You CS majors are pretentious as hell, hating on someone just cause they have no “super big name” companies on their resume. No wonder why people hate CS majors, cause folks like YOU are unbearable
I switched to CS last spring semester and I feel so behind. I’ve already done a few projects but with no previous SWE intern experienced I feel so cooked. I pray I land something this summer 🙏😭
Any tips for landing the very first internship? I listed my clubs, projects, skills, and even some scholarships just to pad everything out to one page; I can't really put anything in work experience apart from manual labor related jobs... I've been cold applying to many companies over the past couple of months, but I wanted to know if there was a better way of getting call backs?
You can get some experience by doing “freelance development” for some small companies or a friend (worked for me). Also when u have no experience, networking is by far the best way to land something
Great video! Thanks bro..👏Just one thing want to clarify that the github repository "simplify" which you have mentioned during the end of the video for getting job or internship , is it also helpful for the Asian students pursuing their career in their home country in Asia?...If no then are there any other github repositories for this purpose?
Correction, my entire channel is sharing my personal advice as someone in the exact same position as the thousands out there that need guidance! In my opinion the advice I could offer as a candidate for 2025 jobs is much more relatable than someone who got a job back in 2020 when they hired anyone with a pulse that could write a few lines of code. I also teach others how to code (so far predominantly Java + spring boot) and I’m in the process of building a hopefully successful startup (which I release behind the scenes vlogs on which are pretty sick so subscribe 💪)
great insight as always! you're officially my role model for the programming world. I really dislike coding, but you make me keep up and improve.
Glad to help!
Great video man!
Glad you liked it!
this kid gives a lot of absolute advice for someone with some dog water internships (gov and some company no one has ever heard of)

Mate it’s at least something, some people don’t even get a single internship

It’s honestly mostly for North American roles! I don’t have too much experience with jobs in Asia but maybe somebody can help you out
Thank u bro
Of course 🤝
Can you please put your resume in the github cuz the one you have on there now is pretty old
Yes! Will update the code within a day
@@SWErikCodes thank you that helps a lot
@@SWErikCodes hey erik could you please update the latex code
updated!
you got any tips specifically for applying to swe internships in Canada? anything to avoid
Not much difference it’s all the same, but just know Canadian internships open up much later than the American ones
@@SWErikCodes thanks i was kinda losing hope
@wvyabhi don’t lose hope, even if you don’t get an internship this summer it doesn’t mean too much. Everyone has their own path to success
