Song and dance is way ahead of time for Bollywood, Hula dancers and Hawaiian theme in 1951, wow!
🥰, please explain Hula dancers and Hawaiian theme🥰
Not way ahead of time. Back then in the years following independence, they sometimes took inspiration from Western tunes. Our brilliant music directors didn't fully copy. They created their own take on the tunes and elaborated on them. They were capable of Western-inspired as well as traditional Indian melodies!
...well said...!!....this cult class " albela " was much ahead of its era n master bhagwan dada literary poured his soul in every moments of these masterpiece....💕 u dada forever....

Geeta Bali madam would have been a heartthrob in every generation. What facial expressions and elegant moves? She seems to tell everything through her mesmerizing eyes. And the choreography of the song is fantastic, all moves are natural and spontaneous. Our film industry was so rich in talent then.
Ya you are right.
Right.
Most natural actress-ratan singh
Her smile?
She was a very beautiful heroine 😘😘
Lata Mangeshkar ji was only 22 at that time.I can't believe that song made in 1951.Beautiful dance with beautiful expressions. Geeta baali 👌👌👌👌❤️❤️❤️💕💕
This film became famous in the 70-80 period, though it was made in 51, that uplifted Bagwan Dada. 80s youngsters loved to dance to the songs of this movie. They will be dancing inside the theatre. By the way Bagwan Dada's daughter and son studied with me in school.
Wow.
Thats because Bhagwan Dada was decades ahead of his time
@@sambuddha7777 absolutely.
His 1 son was cameraman in bollywood
Are they not part of the film industry ?
I'm from Dhaka(Bangladesh). I have watched all the hit old Hindi film songs(40's, 50's and 60's). Late Bhagwan Dada and Geetabali was perfectly acted in this film.
Love from India!

Everything about this song is so amazing. The style, the gesture, the dance, the dresses, the music and also the background dancers. Top class!

Such innocent faces, my heart just melts.
Beautiful song!
1950''s then and 2020 now.. still no one can match the facial expression of bhagwan dada .. 1000% sheer talent !!
Salute to Mr. C. Ramchandraji for composition of musical wonder. I love the tune of this music. I still believe indians are actually god fathers of all kind of music. All the old composers are unique. We are proud of them.

C. Ramchandra was the most unrecognized Music Director. He gave fantastic tunes which even today are enjoyed by everybody. Also a singer under the pseudonym of Chitalkar.
1950s...? just 3 years of independence...Don't know cinema history, but to me the song looks much ahead of time according to that era - the costumes, dance steps and the music all seems very modern.
Alam Ara was too much before Independence. Freedom of expression was very prevalent in and within India. The Jagirdhars even imposed boundaries.
That is why it's the movies. Out of touch from reality.😊
You stole my comment dude. Lol 👍
The real legends of Bollywood :)
Deep Das Costumes, dance steps are Hawaiian.
Omg It's been 72 years and still this song is so much young and that sweetness is truly immortal❤
Came back to watch this after watching the new version. Good try but OLD IS GOLD!
Completely agree with you. The new version is a pale shadow of this original. Geeta Bali looks so young and charming and completely stunning in all her dance steps!

An immortal song. Master Bhagwan and Geeta Bali are superb !! I liked this song at the age of 16 and still love it at the age of 83
Do you mean you were 16 when the movie was released for the first time?
@@hemantghayal7709 looks he was 14/15 years old when the movie was released. He says he liked this song when he was 16, so he might had watched it 1 or 2 years after its release..

It was 1951 when this song created a wave and now it's 2019, latajee was then as she is now making us fortunate enough that we have been living with an incredible living legend of voice. Long live latajee

Love that song, old is really gold... love frm pak
Bhagwan Dada was the 1st actor to introduce modern dance steps to Hindi cinema ... later copied by the Amitabh Bachchan !!!
true
True
@punit p this isnt the only song bhagwan dada has danced on...the signature Big B step you might know is inspired from Bhagwan Dada....
@@VirajBaraskar not only amitabh but rajesh khanna and govinda also copied dadas steps. Even today all dance director take bhagwan dada steps as basic dancing steps of hero.
punit p not Hawaiian, it’s Fijian dance style. We dance like that in Fiji
70+ years - and the melody of the songs in Albela has not gone down even by an iota. Just one word - timeless!!
No vulgarity. Heart captivating song and dance. Natural environment.
Absolutely Sir. Clean as a whistle. Even our grand parents can watch it!
The definitive proof that a good song does not need skin show to become popular.
गीताबाली ने इस गीत को अपनी अदाओं से बेहतरीन रूप दिया है।
Love Geeta's expressions. Her face could portray a thousand stories. She danced with a genuine smile. Beautiful song. Where has the talent gone? To many talentless star kids these days ..
This original song, choreography, hawaiian theme in 1951 is something beyond Amazing yrr!!💯
great marathi music director c ramchandra... hats off.. first music director dare to introduce rock n roll in bollywood..
Yogesh Kakade .... My grandfather Chic Chocolate was his assistant and music arranger. He passed away in 1967. He is also featured in one of the other songs in Albela playing the trumpet.
Yogesh Kakade ... The song was Deewana Parwaana

not marathi but a Konkan brahmin
now I know who's responsible for mashed up Bollywood. topi off to him.
Konkan is in maharashtra. Bhagwan dada is also marathi.
This is such a timeless n delightful masterclass ..... C Ramchandra, Bhagwan Dada, Geeta Bali n all the junior artistes hv combined so marvellously to create this.
Such innocence, such natural unbridled joy in the faces of the artistes ..... incredible!
Hats off to C Ramchandra!!!
This song had rocked pepole in 1951.it still has that effect.i m rocked
When this movie was again released in 1975-76 people used to dance in the theatre and create havoc.
Arun Shetty Very True
Bhagwan Dada didn't have money to Re release it. The owner of Alfred Talkiesat Playhouse corner invested Money and It was Much More Successful than it's first release in 1950. People not Only Danced But throwing Change- Chiller all over there in the Auditoriums. Same thing happened with Fagoon of O. P. Nayyar.
I could not see d songs as people used to come near screen and dance in 75-76 era. I had to see it 19 times to cover all d songs. People were mad could not control and used to dance.....specially this song I could not see....on 19th in police protection I saw it.

It's a feast to the eyes to watch beautiful, vivacious, bubbly Geetabali dancing to the melodious tunes of C. Ramachandra. The song & dance are ahead of its time & popular till today.
C Ramchandra too good
C Ramchandra was a genius who understood the power of fusion as a barrier breaker across classes, communities and regions.. he brought in the latest swing & ballroom jazz from the west through his another legendary collaborator Antonio Xavier Vaz @ Chic Chocolate who had the hottest Jazz band in mumbai, and never forgot this hindustani classical roots.. on top of it all a humble and generous human being who till his final days dedicated everything to music. Later day legends like LP/ Ilayaraaja etc have mentioned C Ramchandra as their big influences in their film work
Ilayaraja loves him.

that's the Hawaiian dance style & attire :D how cutely they've combined that with a hindi song :)
very beautiful to Hawaiian style in hindi song 👍👍👍
Beautiful dance with geetha Bali and bagman and chorus with beautiful melody by chitalkar Ramachandra and Lathaji . unforgettable.tku
Calypso? You are talking in about 50's of Indian music?
yes
Both the actor and actress look so gorgeous...really a very nice melody with wonderful performance...
Secondly, C Ramchandra.. as he is popularly called.. was a Marathi man called Ram Chitalkar..he had a very nice voice quality.. sung many Marathi and Hindi songs.. magician among the composers.. great man 🙏🙏
This song shows dance and song comes from heart and feelings ,it is a complete package, seems every one is enjoying and even nature....superb performance ...Bhagwan Dada 😘
When Indian movies were on par with Hollywood
absolutely this was the golden age of both industries
Hollywood is overrated now days. Old hollywood was great.
I came here after watching Mangesh Desai and Vidya Balan in the remake of the movie and songs. I have to say both did a really good job. Vidya Balan is always my favorite playing vintage movie characters and Mangesh Desai (Suneil Kelkar) an inspector from Crime Patrol did fit the role of Bhagwan Dada perfectly. Just excellent. Still no comparison with the original one.
@Ghuchu Ghuchu True. Chai key bina kaam nahi chalta wo bhi baghair shakkar wali.
In this song the choreography all about shaking the hands and rotating the palms ..Evergreen Song ... anybody will enjoy this song even after 500 yrs
Chitalkar saheb dedicated for Lataji..
Great tuning as ever.. Male voice by Chitalkar saheb.. . Jaise Asha tai ke liye Opn saheb vardan they usi tarah Lata ji ke liye 1950-55 ke period me SJ ke alawa Chitalkar Ramchandra ke sath combination lajawab tha
This song of 1950 was way ahead of the time. Only because of Bhagwan dada😅
Yes it was ahead of this time. However i would say because of the cameraman and choreographer who shot the reflection of the fire at the right time and moves wow.
I think bhagwan dada is first dancing hero of bollywood...
By the way his facial expressions are awesome and dance moves too ❤️
Geeta Bali's eyes alone are dancing better than all present day talent put together!
Rhythm, melody, dancing, the beauteous Geeta Bali, Bhagwan Dada, C Ramachandra's music- Albela had it all.....
Way, Way ahead of its time.
That, in 2023, we are still swaying to the dancing & music is the definitive proof of the immortality of Albela.
Incredible, just 3years later of indipendence this type of song, costumes, dance realy amazing and overall gitabali madam, just outstanding
Omg geeta bali had very spontaneous look. This song seems to be ahead of its time.
Voice of lata mangeshkar is always live whole nature........ What's voice in that time 1951...
But i feel.that this song would be better in geeta Dutt voice

Must have song in every NRI french and American party 🕺🏻🕺🏻
This is giving Hawaiian vibes !.. The part with claps esp is interesting. Despite many people saying how lovely n simple life was back in the day, I feel past always looks much much better than it actually was.. I feel one tends to downplay hardships and difficulties of the past and pleasures of present.. So we always end up craving for time went by rather than enjoy and appreciate the present.
That is called NOSTALGIA...
Old is really Gold. When I see this video and listen the song I used to forget all my tension for a moment.
Long live old songs and actors and actresses.
Geetha Ball was a real beauty. What a dancer.

This is last week of June 2023 and this classic and timeless song of film : Albela, continues to be exceedingly popular even today. Hugely hilarious & fun-filled acting by Geeta Bali, Bhagwan Dada & score of other dancers, soulful, sincere, spellbinding, sweet singing by Lata ji & C. Ramchandra, marvellously melodious music by C.
