The kind of silly analogies that he is drawing these days have to be seen to be believed. End of TIME ? Pakistan did not last for 25 years. Broke in to two with the majority declared themselves as Bangladesh. Remaining part is Punjabistan with Punjabi Army , navy , air force , ISI , IB etc ruling over , suppressing the baloach , pashtuns , sindhis and kashmiris.. Lasted out 75 years but the next 25 years are doubtful if it remains as a single unit Punjabistan.

there are many reasons for Pakistan becoming a failed State. when we think about betterment of a country we think of education , infrastructure and about basic needs of people ,but leaders of Pakistan thought of war due to egoistic and greedy jinaah . Jinaah’s lack of farsightedness forced Pakistan towards never ending dream of taking Kashmir . To make the matter worst, Zia-Ul-Haq pushed the country to exreme religious extremism!

Till 1970, Pakistan was reasonably liberal. Bhutto had compulsion to raise Islam and zia ended any chances of liberalism.
Play a mental game. Imagine you have control of Pakistan in 1950. Now if you want to make it completely illiberal, what will you have to do? Alternately if you have to make it completely liberal - even with islamic identity like Dubai - what will you do?
Doing this exercise you will find that Pakistan has been indoctrinated more completely than communists could do to their subjects.

A "conservative," in the prevalent Western sense of the word, is a person who aims to conserve the rich and enlightened Western civilization against the transgressions of degradation and turpitude in the disguise of progress.

Quite clearly from your own definition of liberalism it is a western judeo Christian concept imposed or voluntarily adopted by the rest of the world. Speaking for India, we are at least a 25000-year-old civilization. We have our own values and definition of liberalism, may not be in a Wikipedia article but it certainly is in our ancient texts and in our Hindu DNA. Post 1947 for 70 odd years our ancient civilizational ethos was sabotaged by a few brown sahibs in power. But we are back now and move towards our own values. So, to frame the argument right from the start that a country should aspire to be a liberal democracy in the western sense is not correct.
