For the concacaf champions league it’s a 2-leg final so each team plays home and away, the first match was a 2-2 tie between pumas and Seattle so the winner of this game took all

    • @kittyislandadventure
      @kittyislandadventure Рік тому

Well, with the away goal rule, if it was tied 3-3 or higher, Pumas would have won, no? I don't remember if they did away with the away goal rule for the final or not.

@Chris Walker for some extremely weird and dumb reason they decided for the final only there was no away goal rule, I mean it made it better for my sounders but was still dumb

@@kittyislandadventureToronto would have been the first mls team to win it and I feel like they deserved it more than Chivas. They beat 2 Mexican GIANTS. They won the second leg of the final. Even though the “aggregate” was tied Toronto should have won on away goals or the game should have went to extra time. But either way Toronto also won

Brilliant videos! Found you from your review of the 4-1 Sounders vs SKC game, as a sounders fan loved watching it. It brings me great joy seeing someone actually give our leagues/competitions a chance instead of just being hateful. Keep it up!

You mentioned at the end about the one guy being injured, that was Joao Paulo. He went down pretty early in the first half, we ended up being without him the rest of the season cause it was his ACL. He's back now, and we're loving it.

One thing to keep in mind is that because MLS plays for playoffs instead of for the shield, they build teams a little differently. Having a phenomenal shot stopping goalkeeper like Frei is key for an MLS side. The sounders are also a uniquely deep roster, particularly in 2022. They had two of their key defensive players go off injured in the first half of this match (Joao Paulo & Nouhu), but were able to bring in quality subs to keep a clean sheet. The two subs (Kellyn Rowe & Obed Vargas) show the Seattle Sounders difference. Rowe took a pay cut to play his last years in Seattle (his hometown team, great organization, wanted to win silverware… ended up playing in almost every game for Sounders in 2022), and Vargas is a homegrown talent. Freddy Montero also took a vet-minimum deal to play out his last years in Seattle, and he was really key in our CCL run, scoring a lot of our goals (5? 6? Something pretty absurd).
Basically the Sounders are an anomaly in MLS because we have the development of young players, and the relationship building with older players to get a lot more out of the salary-cap league that anyone else can. This year we have like 6 starting options at forward, for example.
The other interesting thing is that this game was played on astroturf, which many of the other teams in Concacaf have very limited experience with. We did especially well at home in this run, and there’s some speculation that played a part.

CONCACAF does not cover South America. CONCACAF covers 42 countries in North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The ironic part is the Seattle sounders were so bad in MLS last year that they finish 21st overall in the league yet still one CONCACAF champions league.

they put everything into the CL - played more games than any other team in MLS. also lost two key players in the final - yet still won it with a 16-year Sounder Academy midfielder. We are fine. and will be winning another MLS Cup and supporters shield this year

since you’ve made MLS reactions a weekly event, I wanted to drop by with my picks for the best games of the week to react too…
Toronto FC vs Charlotte FC: four total goals and a great comeback
St. Louis City vs Minnesota United: I won’t spoil it…
LA Galaxy vs Seattle Sounders: it was just a good game in my opinion. Not high scoring, just a great game
Vancouver Whitecaps vs CF Montreal: outside of St. Louis this is a surprise team that not much people are talking about. They haven’t had much success in the league drawing a lot but this was a shocker especially considering the team they did it to and who that team just beat last time out. They’be also been making a push in CONCACAF champions league which is also surprising. Just a pure blowout but a lot of goals and just cool to see someone new finding success.
New England Revolution vs New York City FC: there were several disallowed goals which probably made this more dramatic than it needed to be but it did end in a draw.
I mean there were a lot of great games this week, but a lot ended very low scoring and I know you said you didn’t like low scoring games. I tried to avoid them but this week you just can’t help it. Goals weren’t plentiful and my fantasy team showed it.

CONCACAF covers North America, Central America and the Caribbean, but not South America. Seattle had quite the advantage in this Final, not only playing at home in front of a sold-out Lumen Field, but also playing on the artificial turf. Seattle Sounders FC shares the stadium with the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL.

What was crazy about this is our midfield talisman JP got injured in this game for the rest of the season early on, and our 16 y/o player replaced him and held it down in a final against a great pumas team. All with the narrative of an MLS team never winning it before.

The best MLS games to react to for the week…there weren’t a boatload of edge of your seat goal fests this week. The ones that had goals were blowouts, and the others were 1-0 or 0-0 nailbiters. I’ll break the games into categories for you to try and help…
MUST REACT AMAZING GAMES: Toronto FC vs Charlotte FC, St. Louis City SC vs Minnesota United, FC Dallas vs Portland Timbers, Vancouver Whitecaps vs CF Montreal (this was hugely onesided but rather shocking given that it was the opposite team winning as most would predict…this team that won is kinda. Surprise this year in MLS)
LOTS OF GOALS BUT MOSTLY ONESIDED: Toronto FC vs Charlotte FC (this one was the only game with four goals or more that was closely contested), Columbus Crew vs Real Salt Lake, Vancouver Whitecaps vs CF Montreal (this was hugely onesided but rather shocking given that it was the opposite team winning as most would predict…this team that won is kinda. Surprise this year in MLS)
They had drama but generally nothing shocking and low scoring: New England Revolution vs New York City FC, Colorado Rapids vs Los Angeles FC (not for those who like goals but hell of a surprising result)
The 0-0 snooze fests: Philadelphia Union vs Sporting Kansas City, Colorado Rapids vs Los Angeles FC, Chicago Fire vs D.C. United
Meh…they were games but nothing really noteworthy or interesting happened: LA Galaxy vs Seattle Sounders, San Jose Earthquakes vs Houston Dynamo, Atlanta United vs NY Redbulls, FC Cincinnati vs Inter Miami, Orlando City vs Nashville SC
I think I got all the games on this list…if I missed one that tells you how great it was. Hope this helps and I can’t wait for the MLS reactions!!!

On the old format of this competition, DC United and LA Galaxy won it. DC United also qualified for the Copa Interamericana and won the whole competition defeating Vasco Da Gama of Brazil in the final even though MLS was in it's infancy back then. So if you think about it, MLS deserves credit from the beginning for achieving things in football even though they are such a young league.
Also to note, Seattle was below mid table when they played this final to my knowledge. They were meh and still won.

The sad part is that mls when they start cóncacaf champion league it the beginning of pre season . And when we go to fifa world club competition we barely played 1 official in the league so the players are never in top form . Due to all the sports in the u.s futbol/ soccer is adjusted around those sport fixture so it won’t be on at the same time on tv . And mls also has salary cap and limit the purchase of international players and also has 3 dp( designated player) spot where you have high level value players with highesalary limit
