Reasons why NU´EST could be big in Japan: 1: All 5 of them (especially Ren and Minhyun) suit the japanese taste in men. I think it´s called "Ikemen", correct me if I am wrong ^^ 2: They actually made an effort to learn the language! Their Japanese is a whole lot better than that of most Korean Rookies trying to debut in Japan! 3: Since the song is going to be released in November choosing a "Christmas Theme" is a very good idea and will most likely give them a boost in recognition if the company plays it right. 4: Choosing this Genre was a very good idea for their first song. I honestly don´t think that they would get accepted straight away if they would have started with dubstep, beating up people, or weird screaming rock/techno (just an example!) :) 5: Amazing Vocal improvement. I feel so sad for the boys, they spent 10 months on their previous full-length album, which didn't turn out successful despite all the work they put into it. They really deserve more attention, and you can notice how they try getting it by bringing Ren out, he being the main eye-candy of the group, but i think they could try to change their music style to something more popular nowadays. But anyway, NU'EST fighting!!!
I don't think they want to "change their style to fit what's popular". I believe they would rather be recognized for their own distinctive sound. New, Establish, Style, Tempo, remember? In japan they announce the release + release teasers a few months prior to the release date, then the mv comes out 3-4 weeks before the actual release, then they finally start selling the song. They do this (im pretty sure) because even though japan has music shows, artists only go on it once (twice max) to promote their songs. That's definitely not enough time to get it known, so they release things (like mvs) early so it can slowly catch on, and by the time the song is officially released it will immediatley become popular and rank on the charts. The way nu'est did it is a little wierd cuz usually the label usually only puts out a short version of the song to make sure that everyone has to buy the song, but im not gonna complain :)

In japan they announce the release + release teasers a few months prior to the release date, then the mv comes out 3-4 weeks before the actual release, then they finally start selling the song. They do this (im pretty sure) because even though japan has music shows, artists only go on it once (twice max) to promote their songs. That's definitely not enough time to get it known, so they release things (like mvs) early so it can slowly catch on, and by the time the song is officially released it will immediatley become popular and rank on the charts.
The way nu'est did it is a little wierd cuz usually the label usually only puts out a short version of the song to make sure that everyone has to buy the song, but im not gonna complain :)
