- The AMX-13 has entered the AusArmour restoration pipeline! It will be a while before we get around to getting it running but keep an eye on the channel for more updates!
This French beauty arrived a few weeks ago. It needs a lot of work on the engine and a coat of paint but we are very happy with our newest addition to the collection.
Follow the progress of our workshop restorations every Workshop Wednesday! A must watch for students of history, engineering, mechanics and metalworking! 🧐🛠️

Now this is epic! An AMX-13 with SS.11 ATGM launchers! Please, please, please keep and hopefully restore the ATGM system, would love to see the details on that antiquatied system.
AMX-13 with the SS. 11 ATGM launcher, so cool. Cant wait for it :)
This is truly a rare version of the AMX 13.
The version with the SS-11 missiles was armed with the 75mm gun.
Yours having a Thermal sleeve, indicates that it is armed with a 90mm gun
I only knew of 1 other AMX 13/90 with SS 11 ATGM like yours and I thought it was only a modernization attempt.
My favourite light tank. Will be great to see a French runner in the museum collection!
oh cmon.. "french runner".. the jokes virtually write them bloody selves :-)
@@diquadhumungersaur492
I'm sure we will find out how many reverse gears it has in due course!
@@lastguy8613Another unoriginal joke... You have to grow up guys... The biggest cowards are still the English ❤️
ce tank est magnifique ! il mérite d’être dans un musé !
Another great piece of history to be restored thanks guys
i love the shape of the AMX, it's pretty much ready for paint!
Oh my Kurt, it'll be a Beauty when you guys at Auz Armor are finished with it, thk you, Bo, Daryl, and who else works on this lil mustang.
At least it's in better nick than the EBRs.
Great to see French tanks get some love. The most bonkers designs, but they worked at the time.
Love the expression on Darryl 's face "Aw jeez some more French junk to knock back into shape". I''m sure he wasn't really thinking that, but after fighting with that Panhard who'd blame him? 😉
i'm french, and i'm proud you have one, they are becoming quite rare at the moment
ce tank est magnifique ! il mérite d’être dans un musé !
Well short and impresiv.
Thats an interresting little tank!
This restoration is gonna be insane but I’m gonna love it
Quel plaisir de voir un char Français rejoindre ce merveilleux musée 🥂
That a pleasure to see a French light join collection of your amazing museum
Your devotion, quality of your restoration is amazing and it’s a great pleasure to follow your adventures to conserve and cheer our history.
Merci beaucoup 🙏
Very nice weathering reference.
Dear guys,
The AMX is a new challenge but knowing you guys in the meantime some better I’m sure this tank will be stunningly restored by you.
Look forward to your next vlog and send you love from the Netherlands
Me, I am from The Netherlands too and I watch this program every week. The AMX (I think it is the 90 mm cannon) is very interesting. The Panhard as well. But this makes me wonder whether they also are buying a AMX-30 (that is very cool) and / or a AMX-10 (again very cool). The French were always a bit different and I like that.
@@gvdschoot The French are still a bit different 😂
@@gvdschoot The presence of a Thermal sleeve indicates that it is armed with a 90mm gun.
Which makes it a rare example, because the AMX 13 equipped with SS11 was equipped with a 75mm gun.
There were modernization and export tests, equipping AMX 13/90 with SS11 missiles but not adopted in France and I do not believe that this version was sold for export.
I only know of 1 other copy of this trial version.
@@dark_angel_24 Thanks!
Looking forward to details about the turret.
It wasn't until you hooked it up to the 434 that I realised just how small that thing is
Wild- and oh man, I just can't hear La Marseillaise without immediately thinking of 'a man with a tape recorder up his nose'... bloody Monty Python LOL
Woooow. Amazing. This is a nice addition.
That looks so much better than the last pile of French scrap metal you turned into a very pretty piece
This one will be very easy for the guys 👍👍👍👍
Cool! From first glance it looks to be in decent shape. I can’t wait till they start their magic on it!
How times change. I and a buddy had to shovel one of those full of sand so we could use it for a target. Aus. Armor is trying to save one. :D
Looks like Christmas came a bit early for you guys in 2023! Got some interesting paint colours on her, very reminiscent of the Operation Daguet scheme in 1991.
Thank you for sharing
Wishing you a Happy, Healthy and Safe 2024
🤗🙏🏆
Looking forward to this one
Great another restoration to watch, more videos please I watched all you have, I need my tank resto fix 😄. loved the videos I've seen, Shame I cant visit you from the UK... All the very best to everyone at Australian Armour and Happy New Year... Peter.
I wish Happy New Year to the team and their families. Greetings from Germany.
Thx ! Je n’ai pas pu m’empêcher de chanter la Marseillaise ! 😊

Sir, I am very happy with this video and I feel that this video helps me in my work 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Its beautiful just the way it is.
G'day, well done, can't wait till you start the restoration work, cheers mates, Neil from the outback.
I can't wait to see the work on this one!! It's great that it has the atgm launcher installed and I think will look awsome in the collection especially 4 faux missles sitting in launcher! I'm curious if the autoloader is in the turret and functional?
Was very disappointed there was NO workshop Wednesday this week , I know you have plenty of material to use !!! 😳🧐
Très bien !
This tank is one of my favourite light tanks love it can't wait to see how you fix this little gem up.
Happy new year to AusArmor!!! Looking forward to see the restoration of stug 3 !!!!!!
OMG my absolutely biggest love
Yes! I was there a few weeks ago and would love to see it restored!
That's cool.
Looks great as is. Wouldn’t touch a thing. An authentic paint job, no matter how rough, is more interesting than a clean modern one. Get it running, maybe some Matt top coat to protect it, some minor paint touches for rust. Then leave it alone. I have spoken. 😂
Excellent guys! 😃👍
wow, not just any AMX-13 but one of the rare missile carriers at that!
@0:44 you already see the list of TODO growing in his mind :D
amx 13 with missle launchers on it chad!
Please make a detailed video of the tank before the restoration, as a model builder I'm curious to see all the scratches and rust etc 😁
Well, now I’m really looking forward to Workshop Wednesdays - and to more details on that oscillating turret! Happy new year, gents!
I own the periscope to an amx-13 presumably early model
Super tank, very versatile, I play with it in world of tanks, speed, mobility. I can't wait to see the restoration, I follow this channel with interest, I'm also passionate, and a big request, please activate the subtitles, thank you very much in advance
Looks to be in pretty good nick.
This would another epic restoration, especially since this AMX has that ATGM launcher. It'll be interesting to see how you guys restore that oscillating turret as well as fitting a new Detroit Diesel engine, as it seems that the engine is missing. Anyway, we can't wait for a new Workshop Wednesday series!
Bonjour de France whorshop! Merci pour toutes vos vidéos! S il vois plaît faite nous des vidéos détaillées de la restauration. Vive la France!
It's almost ready, just some polish.... ;)
Looks in pretty decent shape from what I could see.
Ohhhb yes please!
That looks to be an excellent project.
I always get a kick out of seeing them tow their new acquisitions around with other old gear rather than a tractor or other modern machine.
The mr hewed channel had a running one in for some work a few minutes these ago
Love the AMX-13. Little bit of Panther DNA hiding in there somewhere. Saw a heap of service around the globe.
Magnifique !
She looks like a runner! 😉
ooh la la!
Yes, I love this little tank. This will be an awesome 😎 restoration! 😊
AWWWWW…
No details?!
I guess I’ll just have to stay tuned 💁🏽♂️🤠
oh wow. it even has the rack for the ss.11 missiles
My favorite tank yes! and its a HOT
an amx13 with the SS11 missiles !!! great!!
Will the boys be fabricating some replica HOT missiles to mount on this?
Would be a fun little project to watch.
Looks like an ebr on tracks. Nice unit.
😮 I cannot wait for this
Its a good thing you absolutely are going to keep the missile rack as part of the exhibit
I hope this is going to be a runner 🤞
Hell yes !
It's amazing that the Indonesian army still uses this tank.
Happy new year to AusArmour !. Looking forward to see the restoration of this Tank. Surprise to know its idler wheel pretty much look like with that of Jagdpanzer 38t !.
i would love to see the kv1s get restoration
The way it looks kinda reminds me of the archer, one of my favorite tanks which I hope you guys will get someday :3
Nice addition. What next? Cheers from NZ🇳🇿.
Can’t wait to see it in Feb. such an odd looking thing
Short and sweet. 😂
Not just an AMX 13 but an AMX 13 SS11
I'd love to know more about the floor you're driving on. I'm fascinated by how nice it looks given what happens in there.
Nice
I still cant believe that amx is an old tank
Mon dieu! Un AMX-13 T75 (Char Lance SS-11)!!!
How did Santa get that down the Chimney?
Little bit of paint toch up some new oil and grease fresh battery and some fuel and you have another runner
they would leak after awhile, as the seals on the turret got older. 👍👍👍👍👍
You should be restoring the Japanese tank
Looks like it should say 'Citroen' on it somewhere.......
This will be interesting, were do you find them, have fun 😊
Looks great, cant wait to see the work begin, but all I can think of is that oscillating turret and how much of a pain it will be.
It's pretty simple mechanically, don't think this one will too much of a challenge for the lads
0:42 can you tell it's French? They even put garden decoations inside.
I'm french and a former armored nco. I was à young soldier à feu years after amx 13 was replaced by amx30 and amx10 and vab mephisto ( atgm that replaced this one). I remember the nightmare that former Amx 13 crews had with this piece of crap. Fire on engine, torsion bars broken, turret too heavy , failures, failures, failures...on a 16 tank squadron going to exercise every morning, only à few 8 or 10 could go. Repairs could Last hours Just to make a few miles
Dónde lo consiguieron? En 2023 visité Saumur y ahí había muchos de ellos en su patio. Saludos desde La Cruz, Chile
Kurtfromozama - Please do not remove the SS-11 missile launcher!
She's a rusty beauty!
Clive likes his armor.
