I'm an Electronic Engineer, with clients throughout Africa and The Middle East. I encounter countries where people speak Multiple different European languages and the only languages I know are English and Programming Languages 🙈 This would be an epic tool in developing a communication device to aid in communicating with clients and helping me work faster and more effectively! Thank you for these great opportunities!
I am a cosplayer. I am currently building the Powered Work Loader from "Aliens". In the movie, there is no control panel, but I'm adding one because of the many new features I'm adding. I would integrate a speech recognition/synthesizer module to work as the machines "computer interface". Voice commands to do things like open/close the foot straps and canopy, toggle the multiple different light systems, and ask for status reports. The synthesizer would respond with the status reports (given measured values), such as power levels, actuators' status, and the introductory tutorial, all feeding into a loudspeaker so that everyone else could hear it, too. This costume is going to be difficult enough to handle, since both of the pilot's hands must be holding the arms most of the time. Having a hands-free interface for the other controls that will not fit onto the joysticks would be safer and easier to work with!
I just received the Movi that I won from the FB contest (with the above description) in the mail yesterday. I'm looking forward to integrating it into my next project. Not sure if it will be the Power Loader or something else, but I'm really stoked for it!
Please I would need this to incorporate it into my project : An automatic door I'm currently working to make it fingerprint only but with this board, I can make it get your voice after confirming fingerprint.
Hey. i'll say in the group when u put it up, but i have been looking for something like this for a while. I have Ehlers danlos Syndrome and my hands are unstable among many other joint problems (osteoarthritic since my mid teens). I have been looking for a way that is within my physical capability (the amount i can still type and wire) that would give me voice home automation, without submitting my domestic movements and voice to some corporate database (no huge reason, its just creepy af). I have studied electronic trade and part of my mechatronic engineering bachelors (my hands couldnt take it), one of those people that started pulling apart all the gadgets they could at 4. I t will likely be mated to a Mega/ESP board so that it can directly control IR to turn on the monitor, soundbar, etc, plus relays for local lights and to be able to send wifi commands to OTS wireless globes (my house's switches are in the stupidest spots and accessible housing is REALLY hard to get). Will be working with others from a pretty cool disabled tech group i will hopefully be helping with as well in my closest city (about 40 min). Bout as much as i can type in one go so - yeah - thats it lol
Oh, and control the colour temp of lamps - i am finding it affects my sleep cycle but is really hard fro someone with limited mobility to control lol. Once it is there, would almost certainly be used to monitor stuff as well (3d printer progress? that would be nice). Just a few HTML queries
I will recommend you to use Uarm and Arduino with movi shield , so at the end you can say something already programed in to Arduino and the Uarm will do the command for you . I have 3 unfinished projects
Do you know if you can change the pitch of the voice, or make it deeper, higher, faster, slower, or anything within that general realm of "voice adjustments"?
It would take some programming, but yes. That definitely gives me some ideas about using an API to send the info somewhere other than just the arduino itself.
I love that idea but I don't think it plays music. The best bet for music is one of the new ESP32 devices that has an i2s interface. They are super cheap and super awesome.
It depends on what you mean by how many. It can have giant decision trees with 100s of options. But you probably need to feed it one sentence at a time.
I'm thinking of using this in my car. Are u able to change the voice of if it to something different. Also the speaker for output is it just a 5V speaker?
I know they have language changes...idk about voice changes. It's just a normal 8 ohm speaker I believe, but it also has a line out so you can hook it to an amp.
Another Maker Could you just code it so that there is no text to voice response but instead got it to find and play a short 2 second audio file from an SD card or something?
And the audio file would sound like what you want it to sound like (I’m thinking like you could make it be a random R2D2 noise sequence or something instead of the weird robot voice. Could it do that?)
I am aware that this product is for voice recognition, can i train it to recognize a beep sound and condition once it hear the beep program will tell it do certain thing like turn on LED ?
I haven't tried something like that but because you can do your own hot word I'll bet you could. It might require you to make some changes to the library.
I’m SO GLAD you asked how I would use this board😁👏👏👏 well if anyone visits my channel you’ll see that I love building custom large scale rc cars, that do 100mph which is actually considered slow in the “speed run” rc community. Soooo since 100mph is NOT FAST ENOUGH 😂.., I’ve been customizing them to the teeth!! So on my new current rc project that’s a 1/7 scale Bugatti Bolide, I want to have voice command activation for lights, fans, engine sounds, speech vocab, and blow flames “eventually”.. my Skyline build “20 episodes” it did talk to me but It was not fully automated. So now I’m here! What do you think about that?

$50-60 each on Alibaba for several with 138 languages built-in, needs Live WiFi, though.

You can use a password after the fingerprint though.
Now I can make J.A.R.V.I.S from Iron man! :'D
How many sentence can this speak
It's been a long time since I've used it but it's a lot
Love your voice mashAllah keep it up u can make it to 10k bro love the way u explain
Thank you sir.
I had some questions brother can i change the voice or is there any way i can ? And can it reply only few lines or can i increase it ? THANKS!!

you can't change the voice speed , only has man and female voice at a certain speech and speed.
Why didn't it say the response to the light turning on? In the code it had something it should have said?
It's been a while but I think I just had a later version of the code in my repository than I had when I was filming the video.
Can you make Amazon alexa
It would take some programming, but yes. That definitely gives me some ideas about using an API to send the info somewhere other than just the arduino itself.
I want to use this with my bioloid with arbotix m controller.
wow just fascinating, and easy to program. Hope I win!
Can it play music like UA-cam music or amazon music? Cool if it could be coded so servo skits would dance to the music and leds.
I love that idea but I don't think it plays music. The best bet for music is one of the new ESP32 devices that has an i2s interface. They are super cheap and super awesome.
@AnotherMaker I can't get the com port to work with, esp 32
How many servos and DC motors can it control?
Personally, I would connect it to an arduino mega so the pins for controlling that stuff are out of the way then you could control dozens.
if you upload the code to arduino during the movi shield is attached to arduino will damage the arduino or the movi shieald??
Can i ask somthing plz when you attached the movi to arduino can you still communicate with other arduinos through pin A5 A4 (sdl sdc) or Tx Rx?
I have been looking all around for a speaker that only has one pin like that but I couldn't find. Where did you buy yours? Thx
Sorry. My reply didn't go through. I got it at a thrift store.
How many sentences can recognizes? I’m asking that because most of the speech recognition module recognize around 15 sentences
It depends on what you mean by how many. It can have giant decision trees with 100s of options. But you probably need to feed it one sentence at a time.
can you make Movi speech recognition that can records your name please notice me
To be honest, I'm not really sure. I think you would need a different module for the recording.
Can we start voice commands without callSign?
No. It definitely requires a well thought out call sign.
can this be trained to recognise our own native language other than English? or just preloaded language embedded in the MOVI only?
I don't think it can be trained. I know they've had other languages.
They do have firmware updates for Spansh and German though.
@@AnotherMaker thanks 👍🏼
Parts list links?
Sorry. It was pre-production when I posted this amzn.to/361QbLw

how many outputs does it have? For 20 relay packages, 20 outputs are required, Does this device meet custom?
You can use a mega with 50-ish outputs if you need to.
@@AnotherMaker thanks
Thank you
I cant find it?
It's really hard to search on amazon for. It doesn't come up. amzn.to/35mzdXB
@@AnotherMaker It is gone.
Just as long as it doesn't start obsessing on toast.

It sounds like 1995 computer voices lol.. I dont think i would buy it.
