Great Performances on PBS, 1989. I remember stumbling across it by accident almost 20 years ago, which was the first time I realized Indigo Montoya could sing. :D
mandy is one amazing jewish guy and one amazing guy. just saw him on broadway with patti lupone and he is great. his voice is amazing- the range is unbelievable and his power is formidable. he is funny and makes you laugh and then, makes you cry. he is billy bigelow from Carousal, che from Evita, sings Some Enchanted Evening from south Pacific, and more. He is a real star, ad libs and talks to the audience, inspires Patti Lupone to her usual heights, they sing together, hug and kiss. what a show!!!
When was this performance?! He looks like he just finished college! It's funny. I,ve never noticed it before, but he kinda reminds ,me of Gene Kelly, there.
@markcosborne Yes, I have the CD. I also have "Dress Casual," "Kidults," and "Experiment." Oh well. I figured that he's trying to simulate a coffee shop, I just wanted to see what ya'll thought. Anyways...HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY!!
I freaking love Mandy so much! He's so talented. I know I'm going to feel foolish for asking, but I really am scratching my head with this one: What IS THAT thing that he holds up at the end? That shiny metal box?
After he was,( Inigo Montoya, You killed my father), in Princess Bride. The guy has too much talent! A great line from the film, "I will give you anything you want". The reply?, "I want my father back".
My daughter watches "Elmo in Grouchland" sometimes, and Mandy Patinkin's villain is the single best thing about the film. Even in that little cheesy villain role, his talent towers over everything else in the film. There's many musical scenes, but when he performs his it's startling. Afterward you think, wow, that was damn good for a TV kids show movie.
I listen to his version almost every morning to get my day pumped up!! It always makes me dance and gets me in a better mood. He is the best!
Damn for 12 years now huh?
One of the greatest male voices to sing on Broadway and still he can be so funny and make it all such fun....Thanks Mandy....
I have his first cd and this always wowed me!!! ❣️❣️❣️

This tune is from a nearly forgotten 1973 musical called "70, Girls, 70."

I think it’s just a tray full of silverware he’s using to simulate the sound of people using their forks, knives, etc.
@AkiraRose I heard the things rolling around originally...
Maybe you're right! I have no idea.
But his voice is pure gold, anyways.
what year was this!?
More skill in 90 seconds than any performer should be able to show. The breath control alone is insane.
So, is this before he joined the CIA?

Mr. Jolson would've asked for his number....
and he worked for FBI xD
I think it is more like the singer can act :)
What fun! I saw him do this live at the Helen Hayes back in the 1990's - it's hilarious how he does all the voices! :D
