It's that the women are stupid.
His 'most attractive feature' was the money fund, at least she believed he is rich. Turned out he is a scammer. This conman was just exploiting the woman's dreams. I bet if he would have introduced himself as a bus driver or a road sweeper without money funds she would never would have been interested in him.
