Honestly, Harumaki Gohan needs more love. He's really talented (he makes the songs AND the animated PV's!) and I think he's not nearly getting the attention he needs.
OKAY BAD FAN THEORY TIME: At first I had always kinda thought this song was about these two girls who We're very close in wartimes being separated. The time setting is in 1943, cities are starting to be evacuated in accordance with the Japanese government due to Air raids by the USAAF. These two girls lived in one of said areas, and would always spend time together out by the docks just listening to music and genuinely enjoying each other's company. well the time came where they both had to evacuate and seperate. However, they made a promise to each other to "meet up at the cost again" when all of this was over. I thought the song is about the girl with the blue hair coming back after everything was over, and realizing then coming to terms with the fact that the other girl did not make it out alive. By re-living the precious memories they spent at these docks "together" (I think the hat girl is with her in spirit for the trip, as she Cannot move onto the next life without her most precious friend finding closure in her death) she attempts to find some sort of closure in this ungodly painful situation for her. The part "to tell the truth I knew where this would lead, but it's a secret I promised I would keep" I think is her telling herself that she knew the other girl was dead the moment she arrived here alone, but it was too hard for her to accept. In the end she finds the motivation to keep living on by herself becuase the love they had for each other will always love on in the music they sang and enjoyed together, and that in time she will be with her again.. My newer (probably even less correct theory) is that they actually both died, and being that they were two very close and connected souls, this childhood area where it seems like " they may be the last two lest behind" is their purgatory between this life and the next. I think the girl in the hat knows they are both dead, and can't tell the blue hair girl; she has to find out and come to terms with her life ending on her own so that they may both move onto the next life together. Long story short (I'll explain if someone wants more deets) turns out both the blue hair girl and the hat girl actually are fully aware that they and their significant other has died, both just couldn't imagine a better eternity than getting to stay with each other. Eventually they each come to the realization that this is their heaven, and couldn't imagine being anywhere else than with each other forever ;~; living in their favorite childhood memories.
I am Japanese , but I love your voice . It's Beautiful :) Your song made me so happy ! 💕 Thank you !!! .. My English isn't very good 💦 私は日本人ですが、貴方の歌声が大好きです。とても綺麗ですね:) あなたの歌で幸せになれました。ありがとう!!! 英語が苦手なので文が変だったらごめんなさい💦
WHY DID IT HAVE TO SOUND CHEERFUL?!?!?! ITS SO MISLEADING BC WHEN I LISTENED TO THE TUNE I WAS LIKE “YES FINALLY A HAPPY SONG” STUPID LYRICS WHY R U MAKING ME CRY SO MUCH 😭😭😭😭😭
This song reminds me of a book I read when I was about 10 years old, which now frustrates me, because I can't remember the title. It was about this two girls that become friends. They were very young, about 11 or 12 years old. One of them came from a rich family. One day, the rich one is diagnosed with an illness (I think it's cancer). She loses her hair and gets a wig. At the end of the book the rich girl dies, and the other girl finds her.
Faceofu I think I know what you are talking about I think it had summer in the title or a variation of summer but now it gonna annoy me that it i can't remember the title
@@elliot2436 this is EXTREMELY late but I thought of that too! After the absolute bare minimum research I think it’s almost definitely the book! And wow this really brought back memories for me so thank you for that!
Wow, just wow. I really don't know how to feal hearing this song. It sound so upbeat and happy. But listening to the lyrics you easily get lost in what the sound really is portraying. Rachie sounds kinda sad as well. Which I think combines with the way the song makes you feel leaves this sort of, savory, or biter-sweet feel. I swear I keep hearing songs and saying "wow, this describes my life", but I just don't know with this one. Its so sweet and makes you want to kinda sway back and fourth with the song, but it also makes you want to reflect on life. Over all: good song
Me singing: Faintly a radio is popping static as it-- *voice crack* ...shit. Also... I love your cover Rachie. It's so pretty... It makes me feel kinda sad yet it's also kinda upbeat. I've been looping this amazing cover for hours. I really love it. It's like they're making as much memories as they can with the time they have left together. I love songs that want to make you cry sometimes from how beautiful and sad it is. I love you Rachie.
I saw that you had uploaded a song on my birthday and I got so happy, and then I listened to it. I love this song so much and your voice with it is just so perfect! Keep up the amazing work, Rachie!
I love you Rachie 😭😭😭 Getting back into Vocaloid, I've been trying to find Vocaloid producers that I like. After finding Harumaki Gohan and listening to their work, I was so glad that you had covered my favorite songs 😭❤
This song is so lovely and you absolute ace it Rachie! With how the visuals and lyrics line up, I feel like the song is an analogy or symbolism of summer and that it's talking about summer ending (along with the songs usually played only in the summe and the girl in the white hat having to leave because it's the end of her vacation once summer ends. The other girl with the radio lives there, so she has to say goodbye
What a beautiful cover!! And woah that pv is stunning. Thank you for introducing me to this song!!! ((But - and this is nothing to do with you! - I'm bitter about how the song seems to have a sad ending?? I'm so tired of sad lesbians. Why can't we have a happy ending. ;n;))
what a sweet song and PV, i just.. love this so much. Never heard it before now but I'm glad I have now. really gives me some good feels with the melody/pv, but the bittersweetness with the lyrics makes it entirely. this is really great though rachie!! i love this so much !!
I can't keep my eyes off Dem bords, they r so cute & flaffy!!! Rachie ur voice goes really well with this song, I'm might sing this as a sea shanty when I'm on a boat!!! & Also, this song reminds me of hayao miayzaki's 'when Marnie was here'.
The two girls are living during war times (those things falling from the sky are more than likely missiles) they often sit together by the ocean and listen to the radio, but its beginning to break (or, because everyone is dead, there is no one left to play music on the station) so they mostly will listen to the static, trying to make up their on songs while forgetting about the war that is taking place back at their home. for some reason the white haired girl died (either during a missile strike since she is seen skipping through as they fall, or during the "detour" that the two girls take, perhaps leading them into a dangerous area that is often bombed) and her girlfriend (or wanna-be girlfriend, its obvious that the singer is in love with the white haired girl but theres nothing that really proves that they were together romantically) knows this, but sings about how she refuses to feel lonely since she understands that they were both going to die anyway. She also reminisces on the past, wondering how they could have had more fun together. however, the girl still feels lonely, and cant figure out how to make a song on her own that can convey her true feelings to the girl she loved After the war, the girl is left alone, the radio doesn't play any more music, and she sings her last song. Waiting until she dies, so she can be with the white haired girl again. at least, thats what i think! the best part about vocaloid songs is that the producers often leave things a little vague so that the audience can interpret things in different ways!
the last picture at the end with the dots i take to represent the girl who died first, in the white dress. in the middle, the grey and green is miku (seen on a poster, who the song was originally sung by) and the girl who dies last (blue and beige), reunited at last.
I think this is a good explanation for the litteral story, but the song can also represents just nostalgia in general ? Idk, but I really identified with the song, so. maybe the "war" can represents something else ? personaly its making me thinks about my loved friend, with who I was separated almost two years ago until we succeed to see each other again. (it was so difficult, we're separated by like 350km.) the last time we have seen each other before was during the summer, and when we were reunitted it was like we were back to this time, where everything was fine because we were together. the song really made me thinking of her and how I miss her. So I think theres a lot of interpretations xD (sorry for the bad eng hddhhd)
Your voice is so angelic and beautiful, you bring light to every song and make it even more heavenly, please keep up your amazing work and let the world hear your gorgeous voice! Thank you for making our days better with every single song!❤❤❤
i just realized, at 2:17, the secret was that the blue haired girl was trying to have both of them die, because she wanted to "head to the pace where everything ends". She wanted to die with the girl and went along with her to a dangerous spot without telling her it was dangerous, but only the white haired girl got left behind. This is why she asks herself what should she do differently before the summer ends, because she knows that if she'd taken the girl away, they both would've survived the war .
I don't think that's it. I think the white haired girl is already dead during this song, and it's all just replaying memories and asking herself what she could have done differently to prevent the white-haired girl's death. She's not responsible for it though.
Thank you so much for covering this song... It's been my favorite for a while now and I think you did a great job in getting the feelings though in translation. ^^
Why does this song hit such a cord? I've never been in love, nor have I lost anyone but a pet so far in my life, so why do I feel like I can relate to the lyrics? It brings this sense of bitter sweet longing but I don't know why
Wow this is super good. It makes me feel so.. weird? I dunno I have mixed feelings. It sounds so happy yet so sad and lonely. I dunno but I really love this thanks for singing T^T I'm moved to tears.
I kinda like your ver then the original for some reason.. tis vary catchy when you sing it on english ver... i dont usually like english cover... but when i do.. the cover is vary good!
aaaa love this song to bits I'm overjoyed that this was covered by my favorite cover artist! Think maybe "Yukari" by Yokomin could be covered too? It's low, and I'm not sure if it'll work out or anything, but argh it's you and even if it needs to be brought up the octaves I'd definitely appreciate its first English cover to be done by you (I think it would be). I also know that the theme is very much to your personal likings for songs (If I'm correct), just maybe harder on the music. Either way, at least give it a listen!

We call all the time, but it's not the same. Suffice to say, I really miss her and this song reminds me of how even when that world is practically burning outside, we've got each other's back.
this low key reminds me of the move kimi no na wa with the whole reverse time thing near the end (also did the white haired one die or is she a ghost?)
WHY DOES IS THIS SONG LEGIT ME AND MY FRIEND!! She moved away a year a ago and I miss her, we spent most of this summer together though, and we spent a lot of our time around the water and “beach” sooooo yeah... Shoutout to Emilia, if you are for some reason watching this!!

another video!! yay!!
Harumaki Gohan is incapable of writing a song that isn’t about tragic lesbian activity.
Keep up the good work, rachie! :D
That's amazing! I really like it :)
this low key reminds me of the move kimi no na wa with the whole reverse time thing near the end (also did the white haired one die or is she a ghost?)
Everytime I listen to this, I don't know why, but I get chills
Randomly on UA-cam at right time to see this on time
Welcome back Zero! ☺
Note to rachie: you may have misspelled zero's channel in the description. The link doesn't seem to go anywhere.
