Why remove the soil from the 'surface' roots and apply fertilser directly? Couldn't you just hoe the surface soil and mix the fertiliser into it which would release slowly into the ground/roots when watering?
u need to manually hand pollinate the flowers hence why this fruit are most expensive tropical fruit here in the US. even though its full of seeds but people willing to pay 15-25$ per pound.

If you’re talking about sugar apple then the best time to prune it is after cold weather when it’s already dried out and dropped most of the leaves and it looks like it’s dead (which is now in Florida). U can trim back the thing stems so the new leaves can shoot out. Sugar apple doesn’t need another tree to fruit since it have male and female flowers. The Beatle bugs are the one that does the pollination but u can’t rely on it and it took years for me to learn that and many people too. U have to manually pollinate by hand. Commercial growers have to do that too
