Okay. So, here's the thing about the last one.... the dude upset because his wife is breastfeeding their newborn daughter... he is not only sexualizing his wife's breast, he is also sexualizing his newborn daughter. 🤮 The fact that he observes his wife feeding their baby and has thoughts about his newborn daughter enjoying breastfeeding for any reason other than sustenance and comfort is absolutely disgusting. STOP SEXUALIZING EVERYTHING THAT WOMEN DO! Jeez!😡

I pointed it out and the dude was like, “It’ll be fine.” Which it wasn’t.

I cannot be tickled anymore. When I was a small child, it was fine and normal like most kids. I would do flips in my grandpas lap as he tickled me, full of joy! But somewhere along the way and my mental health journey, I couldn’t handle it. By the time I was about 12, I noticed I would freak out if someone touched me. So this is my long way of saying being tickled gives me a panic attack. In some relationships, partners will tickle each other as a playful intimate act, and that’s fine and even cute. My ex couldn’t understand that I cannot handle being tickled, and would do so whenever he wanted to make me squirm. I was young and never seen that as a hatful act, I was naive.
My current boyfriend, who is now very aware of my inability to not have a panic attack when being tickled, accidentally tickled me once, and as soon as he noticed I was crying he immediately stopped and started apologizing relentlessly. I kept saying it was okay, he didn’t mean to, and he wasn’t having it. He said it was not okay and he was upset with himself. After talking about it he realized just how low the bar was. Needless to say, we’re going on four years together and I am going to marry this man. My dad, who only has daughters, already calls him son and son-in-law. And despite the fact he’s aware me and my bf want to wait until mid-20’s to have kids, he’s ready to be a grandpa and told us we needed to get on that 😂 idk why this was so long, but I had to share my bf’s realization of how low the bar is

The thing that mind boggles me about the mentality around nice guys (besides what already been stated) is that relationships are formed on mutual interests/personalitys not niceness. I have gone on many dates with actually nice men, theyre kind nature is what FIRST attracts me to them. But so far all the reasons i have not gone beyond a first date is just regular relationship reasons, we have different values, our personalities dont mesh, i didnt like his sense of humor etc etc.
There was one man i dated for 2 months. We REALLY liked each other, he was SUPER nice, i could easily see myself falling inlove with him one day, but the reason we broke up was when we talked about future desires/goals he really wanted kids, he dreamed of being a dad one day, and i dont. And unfortunately that isnt something you can comprimise on. I wish that man the best, i really do think he was a catch just not the one for me. And none of it had to do with niceness tm.

Just want to clarify, if any object like the tip of a baby bottle, or even a finger is also put next to a child, as long as there isn't a bitter odor coming from it or a bitter taste on it, an infant, especially one less than a month old, will start sucking on it. It is an actual reflex to make sure they get food that starts to develop during the 32nd week of pregnancy and fades 6-12 months after birth, and it is actually how you can track a baby's development in those early weeks, as a baby will suck more enthusiastically when their brain is stimulated. Along with eye movement, this helps researchers learn about memory and intelligence in infants who can't babble yet (which starts around 6-7 months).

Yeah they were called "wet-nurses". Fun fact, that's why nurses in hospital are called nurses. The word "nurse" originally only referred to wet-nurses, but over time that name definition expanded to cover any female caretaker of children (nursemaids who were essentially apprentice nannies, who in turn tended to be an older woman), and then was further expanded to include adults. And thus became the term "nurse" we use today.

I have insecurities about my breast and all it took was Shaaba reminding me that they were created for the purpose of feeding to make me realize that they are literally just udders and it shouldn’t matter what they look like. It seems so simple and obvious now but society made me view them in a more sexual light and it has always made me feel lesser than because I don’t have perfect tits. Thank you Shaaba I genuinely needed to hear that.

One of my nieces had a really hard time getting a good latch and it was a struggle for my sister to nurse her without the aid of a bottle. It was good to see that people have found ways to get food into babies even before the invention of the rubber (and later silicone) nipple!

2:20 This one infuriates me on So. Many. Levels. First, it's implying that people with a depressive mood disorder have control over it or are to blame for it. *_THIS CAN ACTUALLY KILL PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM a mood disorder!_*
Second, it's trivializing a serious and quite nasty medical condition, one that _needs _*_more awareness_*_ and _*_understanding._*
Third, it is, once again, spreading misinformation about how pregnancy, birth, and post-natal maternal physiology work.
And lastly, it shows a complete lack of understanding of what a depressive mood disorder actually is. Having lived with one since age 7 [I'm in my mid-50s now], forgive my Public Service Announcement: it's not about "feeling sad." A depressive mood disorder: (1) Makes you _incapable_ of feeling "positive" emotions. Joy, pleasure, happiness, hope, … they all go out the window; (2) Drops the bottom out from under emotions like: sadness, misery, self-loathing, despair, guilt, and hopelessness. And as a disorder, _it's not tied to anything or "about" anything._ It is a malfunctioning amygdala that's causing it, not anything external.
So post-partum depression strikes me as particularly insidious and nasty. Because society is telling you that you're "supposed to" feel this way or that, but due to a malfunctioning amygdala, _you are incapable of feeling anything that doesn't make you suffer._ Which makes you hate yourself, which in turn just feeds into the mood-disorder, strengthening it.
Anyway, whoever wrote that, I want to _smack_ him hard upside the head.

I am transmasculine. Blood tests have confirmed that the level of testosterone are the same as a cis gender man. I was in a waiting room next to two women and a small dog. The owner of the dog said that it didn't tolerate men and had attempted to bite a guy earlier that day. Thier dog allowed me to pet it and ignored me most of the time. I found it interesting.

    • @Ona1979
      @Ona1979 Рік тому +1

@@SharylLacroix There are a lot of dogs that will take a cue from their owners, but I have seen so many rescue dogs who are terrified of men, despite the encouragement from their owners. Some were only afraid of children. I knew a man who's wife left the family dog locked in an apartment with out food for weeks, to punish her ex husband. Before that happened, the dog was happy and secure. After the incident, the dog would howl and scream if it was left alone, even if it was only for a few minutes. My family had a rescue dog that had been beaten all of it's life. He was affectionate and was easy to handle, as long as no one restrained him. If anyone attempted to restrain it, he would turn on them. No matter how much he otherwise trusted them. One form of abuse that happened was the sprayed with water form a hose while being beaten. That dog didn't tolerate being bathed. My family definitely did everything that they could to help that dog feel secure and safe, but it never forgot the abuse and that was reflected in the animal's behavior. My friend has a small dog that was regularly picked up and thrown by her partner who was a man. That dog won't tolerate contact with men and won't allow anyone but my friend to pick it up. It enjoys being petted by me, but freaks out if it thinks that I am going to pick it up. I have read the results of a very unethical experiment on trauma, using dogs as test subjects. After repeated physical torture the personality was permanently changed. Dogs can develop PTSD triggers just like humans can. I knew a guy who had a small parrot that was bonded to him. It was happy to sit on other people and interact with them. After the man went to prison, the bird would only tolerate the proximity that man's son. Everyone else gets bitten. It used to a quiet animal. Now, it screams constantly. The bird had emotional reaction to the loss. I am interested in learning as much as I can about the physical and behavioral effects of trauma, including animals. Even though some dogs are responding to cues from their owners, I avoid making judgement calls on what people tell me about their pets, because they know their animal a lot better than someone who just met them.

Couple of fun facts: humans can actually "taste" with their feet. Not actually, but technically. If you stand on some garlic with your bare feet, after only a short time you can actually taste garlic! Of course you're still using your taste buds in your mouth, it's that the molecules responsible for garlics smell (allicin) absorb into your skin, get into your blood stream and that takes them to your mouth where your taste buds can detect those molecules. But still, that kinda counts right?
Also, humans absolutely _can_ smell pheromones. We just have a far weaker sensitivity to it, so most of the time we're only aware at the subconscious level. It's why someone might smell good to you even though they aren't wearing anything fragrant, and you likely can't describe _how_ they smell exactly. It's thought it might also influence who you find attractive if you get close to them. Curiously, certain illnesses can change your pheromones, and one lady (Joy Milne) discovered she can literally smell Parkinson's disease from people with the condition, even long before any of our current diagnosis tools can pick it up. She first noticed this after a sudden change in how her husband smelled, then he got a diagnosis a short while later because the sudden change worried her and she demanded he got tested to find out what was going on. Then about a year later she smelled the same odd "fragrance" on a stranger walking past and told them they likely had it and to get tested - turned out she was right and they caught it earlier than they ever have before in a person.

Ok... so the 'dad' is talking about "staying pissed" and "the arguing is getting intense". That means that this has been going on for a while. That must be very stressful for his wife. Could it be that the baby is "attacking" the breasts because mom has difficulty breastfeeding because of all the stress? I know for a fact that breastfeeding can be a problem if the mother can't be relaxed.
