These are messengers (shiv gan) if Lord shiva. They have been carrying message of shiva for centuries through their generations by singing. We need to help them out of their financial weakness by donations. We need to preserve them and it is our duty.
When I was young there were lot of these guys in my are but now there is no sign of them I always wondered where they go...
