thats why a rule of thumb is to change the valvestems everytime you change a tire. especially those rubber stems. quick tip from a norwegian mc mechanic. i've had the same happen more often than you would think with customers unfortunately
I guessed correct. Valve stems are rubber and will develop cracks just like an old tire. Many shops will replace those with every tire change just because they are cheap and easy to replace and prevents this from happening. I don't personally replace every single one but I do bend them to the side to see if they are starting to crack. As always great video now let's see that cbr v gixxer race.

Love my CBR 954rr. Rides like a 600 until you open it up. Not too crazy on the top end but it's my ride of choice in the twisties. CBR is an excellent platform, great performer and rock solid reliability.

I'm obsessed with my 929rr . literally obsessed . the engine is phenomenal especially that valve that opens in the higherrpms for more air flow . its like its supercharged . always wanted to try the 954rr as well for comparison .
It's better to get the 90° valve stems especially for fast bikes. The centripetal force at high speeds can actually compress the spring in the valve stem and let the air out

Had the same shit happen to me, front tire. Feels like the steering locks up on you and like it wants to fall left then right then left etc. Valve stem blew in the hov lane, no place to pull over on the left due to construction, around 7:30pm coming home from work in Phoenix area. Terrible feeling. Made a lot of gestures and people slowed down for me to cross over and wrestle the fuckin thing over to the right lol Would not recommend... not a fan. I had metal sort of squared stem covers. I always run boring plastics now.
I blew my back tire just the other day. The noise of the tire flapping on the pavement was very loud and scary. I though my exhaust had fallen off. A tubeless tire repair kit from NAPA patched the hole. I pumped it up my bicycle pump, and I'm back on the road. Luckily it happened within walking distance of where I lived.

I barely kept it up and I was in the middle lane of the freeway so I then had to get to the shoulder asap which was super sketchy. Waited for a ride for a few hours on the side of the freeway cause there was no way to get off the freeway safely. (I was on left side, no exits there

I was on a expressway interchange ramp towing a enclosed trailhead behind my truck. Cruising along in traffic, I see a sport bike flying up behind me in the shoulder. I put my hazards on, and immediately got onto the shoulder. The biker had to stop suddenly in the sweeping turn, and fell over. He was okay, but his temper was broken. I called the police, and he was cited for reckless driving. Another motorist was a witness to how reckless the biker was riding. Every time I see you guys riding like fools, I go out of my way to help you wreck. 😂
Im sure there is a bike that I could stand riding with a stock exhaust but I dont know what it is. Thats the first thing I changed on my MT09. Exhaust and a tune.
My buddy was on his zk14R and had those stupid tire valve stem things on and it basically did the same thing to his stem. It’s the weight of the skull and the force of rotation. The valve stem isn’t meant to hold that much sideways force.

Man the same happened to me on my k5 Gsxr , was going like 80 and the valve stem broke the oem one 😂 so I put a moto gp aluminum on the rear and left the front stock cause it was okay, as soon as I rode my bike for like 1 hr after fixed , the front valve stem broke too🤣bro I was mad asf
How fng stupid, that chrome skull cap. But listen to this. I once put four aluminum caps that were chrome looking on my 2012 Kia Rio because they looked nice. I got them at Advanced Auto. All four bonded to the valve stems, broke off two when I tried to take them off and necessitated a three hundred dollar replacement of all the valve stems and the tire pressure sensors, the stems were attached to inside the tire. All for four parts that cost two dollars. Never change something in you running gear unless you really need too. Great video, Nice quick catch on the tire.
At first, I was thinking, "Well I guess he is going to replace that tire anyway, since it is damaged already, otherwise I wouldn't recommend to continue riding on it, not to mention damage that could happen to the rim." Rode 45 miles at night with a flat rear tire. 75 mph seemed to be the goldy locks zone. Never hurt my rim and even had about 3 miles of gravel.
INSPECT THE INSIDE OF THAT TIRE. Riding with no air can overheat or chew up the insides.

On the early teens Mustangs, the valve stems limited the 5.0s to 150 mph.

That is why I replaced my valve stems with Moto D aluminum 90 degree valve stems.

Had the same thing happen to me on my s1000. At about 130 the back tire felt like it was on ice…..it’s a sketchy feeling haha. Sure enough a nail in the back tire.
*Edit. It was a brand new back tire too! Had to shell out the cash for another one 😂
