Strange that Mark Lazarus comes across as so shy. He was a wonderful entertainer, often playing for laughs.
Love this. Probably his finest moment of his career and proudest I reckon. So it’s nice to hear him talk through it bit by bit. 🔵⚪️
A brilliant man. We know him personally today and he is a very humble and gentle man. Loves his family 👍
Legend
Wonderful memories...wonderful winger
Good to see Mark looking so healthy.
Hi everyone. My great uncle was Jimmy Langley, great memories he mentioned back then. He went on to play for Hillingdon Borough and played in the Trophy Final against Telford back at Wembley.
I watched highlights of the Final and recall the commentator Kenneth Wolstenholme paying Jim a compliment after Jeff Astle was accidentally injured.
Absolutely brilliant player for the club thank you from everyone involved in the club past , present or future
Had the privilege of watching Mark tearing down the right wing, terrorising left backs at Shepherds Bush. Unfortunately for me he wasn't playing for my side, Southend. I saw Rodney Marsh playing for QPR reserves at Roots Hall when he was coming back from an injury. A couple of thousand Rangers fans came down for the day. Still for all the great players for QPR, Mark Lazarus will always be the greatest to me.
Sir Lazarus 👏
That goal by Marsh was typical of him, class written all over it .
Mark Lazarus - smashing bloke. Tough Cockney out of the Eastend, chose football over boxing.
I was there! What a day for a schoolboy. Saw Lazarus many times including dribbling down the wing with his shorts in his hand having been passed the ball as he was changing torn shorts. How many times did he run the full back to the goal line cut in and lay the ball back for a scoring opportunity?
I was there too. Right behind the goal where all five goals were scored into. Came from Willesden and I too remember being very tense until WBA scored the first goal. After that the same uncaring mood came over me - I was 8 yeas old at the time - and the rest was just a dream.
I was in the stadium as a QPR supporter when they won the cup. I remember the coffin well. Great day out.
