If you watch the me'etu'upaki video from Atenisi, Futa Helu explains that the me'etu'upaki came from Futuna.

Malo Alexeyfiji siau mauli malolo. Thanks for sharing this beautiful video. Our culture is our own identity in the modern world and it is absolutely essential that it be preserved for the good of our progeny.

    Love this!
Samoan myself - sad we SAMOANS and TONGANS don’t realise we are the same family. Secondly I really feel most don’t look outside the box because of our individual pride in the SAMOAN or TONGAN accomplishments of our superstars.
Respectfully - do Tongans and Samoans pay attention to the national FLAGS??
Just saying - we don’t realise we’ve been silently taken over by Christianity.
When you start to look you’ll realise what we think we know about ourselves and our history of ruling Polynesia is almost true - little left of centre.
Third - does anyone not realise we are looking to the last 300 - 500 years of supposed history.
Why don’t SAMOANS in Samoa and TONGANS know anything about the HIDDEN ANCIENT megalithic structures Eg. PULEMELEI
    just saying
Alofa Atu & Ofa Atu Err body 🤙

Mack Thillalem Your ass is still prideful there. Polynesia didn’t rule Oceania. Those are our homelands given to us. If you really think Micronesians aren’t related to Polys, then think again.. Micronesians were the ones who came South and helped in the wars and chased out the Asian enemies.. all of Melanesia was once ours. That was taken by Asians. And then it was taken back by our people, with the help of distant relatives who came out of the Kingdom of Judah and made it out to the Ends of the Earth where we are. We are Israelites.. our Creator God is LOWA, ALOHA. TALOFA, LOFA, ALOFA TANGALOA, TAGALOA and so on and so forth. Aloha is the Israelite word ELOWAAH which means God.
We also say YOKWE, AUE, and EUAE.. etc. which is his name YAHWEH. It was foretold that the tribe of Naphtali Giveth Goodly Words.. we fit the descriptions of Naphtali and all our greetings and words are all goodly words. Names of God and our ancestors from Noah and down to Shem. Our islands are named after our ancestors.. and the names GUNI and JEZER are the sons of Naphtali, and we do have islands named GUNI and JEZER in Oceania.

ESER EBSUwhere did I say we’re not related???? You seem focused on Religion and avoiding my mention of the Ancient Astrological structures. I prefer an intellectual discussion focused on True Science and Spirituality. To give an understanding of the intellect I subscribe to i resonate with critical and creative thinkers like Nikola Tesla, Santos Bonnaci, Max Igan, Jordan Maxwell, Dave Murphy and many other sources. But hey... that’s me. Divide & Conquer has been used too much and I ain’t falling for it. I ain’t here to battle brother :) all the best with your journey 😊

@@naphtaliexiled1000 South Pacific people had strong roots in Seafaring and Warrior traditions. A lot of the cultures joined forces and created new cultures.

Oh wow, and I also see where they "borrowed" the me'etupaki as well. I know that Tonga and Uvea/Futuna are sibling nations, so it's nice to see this :)

Well, I was just trying to state a factual point which you claimed Tonga took Uvea's culture or the Me'etu'upaki dance, when in fact that is not so. Captain Cook himself claim that the dance it'self was a Tongan tradition with the paddles being used for traveling and fighting on land.
So I wasn't trying to claim Tonga for anything, even though my ethnicity is Tongan, I'm American. I was just trying to get facts straight that's all. Good day to you.

  • @4EverDubin

Actually scientist has proven that Tongans were a very seafaring nation, due to the fact that Tonga is not a singular island but have differing island groups. Vavau group for example is bigger than Tonga if put together. As a result they traveled by water most of the time for either war or barter and naturally became expansionist among each other than abroad.
The language spoken and culture is not unique to Tonga or Uvea but also in pot islands surrounding Tonga, proving Tonga's culture.

Correct. Next to Tonga, Wallis & Futuna are Fiji’s closest neighbours. Cikobia Island in Macuata has always maintained links to our Wallisian and Futunan cousins.
In fact, the song “Pakiakia” is actually inspired by Uvean origins, I think. The composer was from Cikobia.

Has it crossed your mind of proof of Tonga's expansion of the south pacific? BTW Wallis n Fortuna is located more near Samoa and yet they have similarities in language to tongans than samoans.

Scientist ? mate I believe in what my grand parents told me and it was passed from generation to generation. Our ancestors were already there in our islands and they were not from tonga or whatever, they were from the Lapita groups ! When Tongans came and tried to overrule us, that's when their culture has been mixed up with ours ! Stop pretending that Tongans are the King Of The World -_- just because they were expansionist. Why do yous always think that you're better than anyone ayee ?

Imkins HD actually Futuna would travel to Tonga and perform these dances to the Tui Tonga but Tonga “borrowed” these dances and made it their own

  • @4EverDubin
    @4EverDubin 11 років тому

    LOL
Well, my point wasn't exactly that. It was just from facts of history proved that a certain amount of Tongan influence were more prevalent abroad, therefore a a mix influence of both cultures. The Romans for example, huge empire or whatever. But Almost every part of their own culture was not original, it came from the Greek, Egyptian, Numidian etc. As for Today's expansionist US, nothing here is original, yet people will attribute it more to them.
It was a tradition within Tuitonga empire.
