Amazing episode 1! I expect this year to be considerably more promising than usual!
Honestly, I’m glad Toei learned from Gotchard episode one that there wasn’t enough exposition and we finally got that exposition in Gavv

Shoma felt like another refreshing take on Hongo Takeshi after Shin Kamen Rider.
The battle scene really remind me of geats
Their move freely and using environment to make their choreography more interesting, not forget dynamic camera works too
Seriously I didn't think Geats Ep1 could be topped for best opener, but this is solid. I really wish more people talked about the fight choreo though. The fight scene was so hype, especially when they're cramped in between the freight containers and fighting inside them
Yeah, the fight in yhe shipping yard was nuts. Spread leg between the containers, even upside-down at points? The action choreography/camerawork was great.
Personally, Geats didn't get good until the 10s while this is already captivating
I really enjoyed Kamen Rider Gavv episode 1
"Shoma (ショウマ, Shōma)[1], also known as Shoma Inoue (井上 生真, Inoue Shōma)[2] and Shoma Stomach" His name is really funny.
I wasn't sure about Gavv but this opening episode totally sold me on its premise (-_^ ) That fight scene was quite the treat with something new to the series.
Id say its not the best episode 1 (it doesnt establish the story much) but that's one of the better first henshin + fight around.
That part at the end where he gets a bike and establishes him as a rider was a great addition too.
I haven't been this excited for a Reiwa rider since Saber, I hope Gavv stays great!
The first episode is really exciting but you made me realise Gavv has more elements of Showa era than I thought

It was a promising first episode, i was shocked with how much story and action they put in 23mins, this is gonna be a fun year

Finally...thank u toei for fixing the issue of bike law in kamen rider show by giving Gavv/shoma a actual physical motorbike that allowed to be used in a public road without breaking the japan custom bike law......❤❤❤and also there is a lot of bike action scene in the debut episode😊😊
It isn't a physical motorbike and most of that chase scene was CGI. But I wonder if the show having more prep-time than usual could allow them to plan bike scenes better and have them more often from now on.

@@joelmarfori8097 Confused motorbike with quadbike due to you saying that there was a lot of bike action in the debut despite all of it being CGI with the quadbike and not really fixing the issue at all with the bike laws, sorry. I know there's a normal bike in the end but that doesn't really show if they managed to bypass the bike laws since he didn't do any stunts, but still like I said, the show having more development time than normal could mean that they could do more bike action from now on.

I just finished watching the premier; it was really weird but I liked it, especially the idea that Shouma is a human/Granute hybrid. We've had riders who gradually turn into kaijin or had kaijin forms but I don't think we've had a human/kaijin hybrid since Kiva.
Another thing to point out: When Shoma said his catchphrase to the enemy and after the enemy deny it, Shoma sounds like he regrets killing the Granute.
Yeah, I like that it seems that it will be a consistent thing throughout the show judging by the transformation lesson. Meaning we can possibly get Granutes that actually turn good or Granutes that take advantage of Shouma.
I loved the first episode, it had a showa vibe with characters like out of heisei with reiwa action, very very good, man, I'm excited for Gavv!

i like it! it's different from the other Reiwa riders, in a good way
hopefully it stays great for the whole season, unlike Revice which was really good for the majority of the first half, but becomes weird during the rest of its run
i just hope they tone down the CGI, especially full CGI scenes, it just never looks good when they use that instead of stunts, but with a bit of CGI help
The interviews with Shouma's actor hinted that they will use a lot of CGI. At least it's not as bad as previous seasons since this show had more development time than usual and it has Fujita as an action director, which means really cool stunts like the fight between the crates in the first episode will probably be very consistent throughout and be used more than the CGI, so I'm not that worried in the action department despite having a lot of CGI like Gotchard.
@@Cegarth the CGI during fight scenes are ok, the one that where everything is CGI(rider, vehicle, monster, landscape) looks rough, namely the the Vrocan monster chase around the city
@@tedjomuljono3052 I want to believe that now that he knows how bikes actually look like that we won't be getting as many CGI scenes like that. But that's probably wishful thinking since the Granutes Berserk forms are seemingly going to be a consistent thing and we already got at least 1 more comfirmed for a Valen fight.
I really like the opening. It's not as hype or energetic as other Reiwa Kamen Rider openings but I do like the vibe of it. Also I really like the base Gavv suit. Can't wait for Episode 2!
It was a great episode, I like the Heisei phase 1 feel of it
I was scared when Komura was announced as a main writer because all of her shows had the issue where she only focused on a select few of the cast then left the rest underdeveloped plus how she makes the villains feel disconnected from the world-building.
However this episode and the fact that this show is already 20+ episodes ahead in production made me feel more safer for this show. In all of her previous shows she barely had any creative freedom and was forced to be stall the plot in the middle. Her trying a darker, seeminly more serialized with more creative freedom than any of her previous projects seems interesting and the Stomach family is already a massive step-up in the world-building department when compared to her previous shows. I'm still worried that the villains will be underdeveloped since they're many and the previously stated issue but maybe the show being more serialized will allow her to properly shape them into good characters. At least the main duo is seemingly guaranteed to be amazing given her past works.
I always felt the shows she worked on never fitted her writing style. PreCure and Super Sentai has a somewhat big cast which unbalances her focus. I always thought Kamen Rider would suit Komura because it would give our main character more development and its her strength when she's focusing on a select few to work on.
@@ninja0329 Yeah, I honestly find it kind of insane that a writer who is bad at handling multiple characters simultaneously was chosen to write Super Sentai 3 times.
Although she also had the focus problem back in Wizard, since she mostly just focused on Haruto, Nitou and Gremlin. But to be fair she wasn't originally supposed to a main writer, all of those characters were created by main writer Kida, but since he wasn't around due to scheduling issues, the producer told her to run the show on automatic basically.

I dropped KR Gotchard after just one episode because it felt too juvenile. That, and because I didn't like the card gimmick.
KR Gavv feels very kiddy too, but I do like the candy gimmick. I'll watch until the end of the first arc and hope it gets more interesting.
