I really miss this guy! There's been some great comedians over the years but he was my favorite. What a mind to be able to come up with all that material. How he could bring so much joy to people yet be down so low as to end it the way he did boggles the mind!
Was one of those rare comics whose jokes are so clever that unfortunately they leave a portion of the audience behind for a second. Delayed reaction. Very intelligent comedian.
We still miss you Richard. I had the pleasure of seeing him many times at Caroline's in Manhattan. What an outstanding talent. I hope he's at peace. I like to think he and Robin are sipping drinks making each other laugh somewhere.
He was so funny, a brilliant talent. It's hard to believe that he took his own life in 2007. It's kind of like Robin Williams... a beacon of light turned out. It saddens me.
I saw him in Denver about 2002 or so. He did a great show. I bought his DVD afterwards. He had a waitress take the money and name, while he stayed back in the green room, signed them and sent them forward with her. That was the only time I've been in any comedy club where the comic didn't sign the DVD and talk to the audience afterwards. But he was a great comic.
My husband and I saw him live back in the 90s and never laughed so hard. I remember my husband saying, "That guy has a dark mind, I wouldn't want to see what goes on in his head." I thought nothing of it at the time, but about 10 years later he took his own life. I still can't wrap my mind around why. I know his sister says he was suffering from clinical depression and delusions. I can't imagine why, at that age, he would suddenly start having delusions, schizophrenia almost always starts at a younger age. he wasn't really old enough to be becoming senile. I'm guessing too much coke? I don't know, I just know he was one of the funniest and most brilliant comedians of my time. I really miss his comedy. I have a friend who's a stand-up comic and he said that Jeni was often very disrespectful and rude to other comics. I was so disappointed to hear that. I choose to remember him as hilarious and entertaining. He left a hole in comedy that hasn't been filled since.
@@JaneSmith0709Disrespectful to other comics..Yeah,I spoke to a touring comic who told me that most comedians hate each other, they have like a major rivalry/competition going on.
@@rudygracia5573 I've witnessed the opposite. I've been close to a lot of comics and most of them I knew respected each other. But they all had the same thing to say about a few of them, and Richard was one they all agreed was disrespectful.
What a great comic! A common thread among our best comics who leave Earth way too soon, is that they can make everyone happy but themselves. They spend all their happiness on us, 30-60 minutes at a time. RIP Richard, Robin, and Rodney. The Big 3-R's.
Never seen this one...Amazing. I'd love to see a ref do that just once. You know, just one for the road, his last day on the field, retiring tomorrow....just once.
Richard jeni was the greatest comedian and it's almost like a troll that he has the worst audiences. If you watch some of his performances you'll see the funniest stuff in the world and the audience just sits there like they don't speak English. Thanks for uploading
One of the great comics of the modern era. His best stand up was on A HBO special called DANGERFIELD back in the 80s. Its too bad that it is not on You Tube. I have it on VHS but dont know how to upload it.
Richard did a good one on Hurricane Bob. He said the first ones to get Fu@#ed were the people who live in trailer parks. Then said, "I guess that if you live in a trailer, you got f#@ked a long time ago". LMFAO
When you are diagnosed with a form of Schizophrenia and depression……sometimes it is out of your hands and you just want it to end. I am just thankful for being introduced to his comedic talent and able to enjoy it on You-Tube and DVDs. RIP, RJ💕💕💕
This guy was my favorite comedian. Wish he was still here.

He was one of the all time best ever!
Favorite comedian.
he was on fire every time you see him
Miss you Richard

He was better than Robin Williams. Unlike Robin, he didn’t steal half his material.

Excellent comedian that left us way too early
I dunno, he might have left us at his peak. That Phantom of the Opera bit from "Steaming Pile of Me" was absolutely brilliant!
Suicide the cruelest end.
In the '90's Jeni's NY routine made me laff so loud that I was crying!
I love him! omg hysterical. Thanks!

Chris Lunacek - you can get vhs converted. I think you can either convert to dvd or to a digital file. It would be great if you could and release it!
Would love to see it.
This guy was great.
An excellent comic. RIP.
RIP you were funny.
SOOOO talented!
"I'm 62 years old and I am a freakin' referee !" - Richard Jeni
What's crazy is that ref being depressed bit was his own depression and issues.
Miss him thanks for posting - i know how hard it is
LAYS DOWN ON THE STAGE! HELPS WITH HIS STORYTELLING……doesn’t it? FN FUNNY! Check out his stand up routines (A good Catholic boy, etc……). So funny!💕
Reading about Rich on wiki,he had some bad health problems that took his quality of life away, the same reason Robin Williams made that decision.
So friggin funny! RIP RJ💕
Holy shit, master
Best comic ever
"See that?"
"So did i."
LeL
Miss Richard a lot. Was one of my favorite comedians! Still use some of his lines like circular reasoning or I'm schizophrenic....I AM OTHER PEOPLE!!
Richard did a good one on Hurricane Bob. He said the first ones to get Fu@#ed were the people who live in trailer parks. Then said, "I guess that if you live in a trailer, you got f#@ked a long time ago". LMFAO
Lots of truth there. Maybe TOO much!
THESE PEOPLE ARE SO SLOW !
Rest in Power
From this time in twelve years he would be dead ???? Wouldn’t think that ,,,,, RIP Buddy
12 years is a damn long time though :P
brilliant joke writer!
; Thank you for posting. Remember when sports awards were about sports, not handing out awards to a wealthy non-singing castrato.
this guy is funny
Joe Rogan brought me here!!
Powerful. Vest.
Lol. They just called holding on 71 on The Cowboys
Oh man you cut out my favourite line, he needs to get his false teeth for a certain reason!
I believe he was "vastly" underrated as a comedian...I can't believe he killed himself! Such a waste of talent and human life!!!
When you are diagnosed with a form of Schizophrenia and depression……sometimes it is out of your hands and you just want it to end. I am just thankful for being introduced to his comedic talent and able to enjoy it on You-Tube and DVDs. RIP, RJ💕💕💕

Hit and miss comic...and I'm relatively sure he himself knew that.
great bit!
so sad.
the great richard jeni kills himself
and jay leno still lives
so sad
Not a big fan of Leno, but that wasn’t called for.
he got paid for his crap?
+Rabbi Shlomo Shekelberg-Rubingoldstein Gee Rabbi, you're a hard person to make laugh. His act was original and brilliant.
Man died. Have some respect
This shit was HILARIOUS! Very talented and funny man. He was a natural at it. RIP Richard. Man, you made me laugh! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
This man ooooozed comic talent! Maybe you would enjoy others like Dane Cook and other talentless “comics”.
I don’t think he was slamming on him for dying but that he had no talent as a comedian. He was definitely off base with that one. Jeni was HILARIOUS!
