- Watch as Walter plays with his favorite toy, an Ikea chippy clippy 😂. As I throw it he will hop, flop, flip, slide, and jump trying to keep it in control.
I've been trying to teach him how to fetch, will today be the day he actually does it??

We lost our beloved kitty of 16.5 years a few months ago. I don't think I can ever have another pet because the grief is so intense. So thank you, Walter and Owner for these adorable clips. It really helps me. ❤
I am so, so sorry for your loss. I lost my 16 year old boy Bam Bam in 2021 who I'd had since childhood, and it really broke something inside of me. I think a lot of people don't understand because not everyone has had a heart pet who they connected with so deeply. But I just want to remind you your grief is valid and your kitty was lucky to have a human who cared so much. ❤
@@lex6487I just lost my heart pet in March. I still cry sometimes, I miss her so much. However, we adopted a new kitty in June. She was labeled "unadoptable." We got her bad teeth removed, got her hyperthyroidism under control, and she has become a playful, loving, trusting cat. If I hadn't filled that empty spot that my darling left, Miss Crankypants would never have had a home where she could learn to love, trust, and be happy. No matter how heartbreaking it is to lose that one, I will never stop adopting. There are simply too many out there who never get to be someone's heart cat. The love and joy they bring eventually outweighs the grief. My heart cat would be so proud of me. She welcomed all of our rescues in the house, canine and feline. We honor her every time we bring in another one. Just some food for thought.

Just a thought, but perhaps he needs the floof under his paws trimmed so he has better traction on those hard floor surfaces. Also, when you want him to bring the toy back to you, it might help if you as him to "bring it to mummy"... I hope these suggestions prove helpful

My personal name for Walter is Waltito the Burrito! Just adore him. My cat Quincy was an exact copy of Walter -- the first time I saw Walter I was stunned --a reincarnation of Quincy? And yes, Quincy loved to fetch…rolling an aluminum foil ball down a long wood floor hallway was his most favorite pass time. He would bring the ball back to me…drop it at my feet so we could play again. And like Waltito, Quincy found me at a shelter. He lived 15 years and had a good long life but still deeply missed. Quincy was one in a million! Next up: grooming tips !

That's so sweet thought! Cats as far as I know, most of the are self sufficient. They can easily entertain themselves when "owners" are not playing with them.
@@sakurachanmemory8921 Well, most of them do fine with a cat-buddy, or 'Co-Cat', if you will, but sometimes a cat just won't like/enjoy the company of just any Tom, Gus, or Hairy cat that winds up in the house...so, I didn't want to assume.
Clearly, Waltito' enjoys some playtime, and gets it, and that's great!
Frankly, the videos of his unblinking, deadpan stare are hilarious, and make me laugh, and his build & coloring are remarkable!
I am just glad to know he gets funtime, and doesn't feel alone all day.
@@TheScandoman Yeah, he's a cutie pie isn't it? When I am busy, my cat picks up the unexpected toy such as rubber band and stick to it for the longest time until she falls asleep. She picks the rubber band, throws somewhere and chase after it, then toss back and forth with her paws playing by herself like a soccer.
@@sakurachanmemory8921 Have you seen the video(s) of a cat who has a 'birdie' on a string...on a stick...and manages to put rear paws on the end of the stick/rod (to hold it down), and then uses front paws to lift up the string end: because the stick is longer than the string, the cat is able to yank the birdie off of the floor, and then jump up to get it!

I think Waltito needs a helmet and some football pads. He's an excellent crasher - just want him to be safe. LOL. I haven't tried a chip clip with mine, but Callie has a collection of about 200 milk and water gallon jug rings - not to mention rings from the seals of mayonnaise jars, pop bottles, juice bottles -- anything I can remove without breaking it. (She doesn't LIKE the broken ones.)
Not only does she chase and carry them everywhere, but Fluff and I also play catch with them. He sits on a little antique bench, and I toss rings to him one at a time. He catches them and then drops them to the floor, usually in a sort of neat little pile. He's played up to 20 rings in one game without a break.
We have all sorts of toys that i've bought over the years, but you're absolutely right - it's the junk stuff, the random, the basic that they love most. Dewey steals anything 'stick' shaped - whether it's my pens, a straw, I even catch him trying to grab the occasional knife off the table (he's tall enough to reach it) when I'm cooking. As long as it's long and skinny, he wants it. (Actually, my Dewey and your Walter could be twins - only one of the reasons Walter is one of my absolute favorite UA-cam/IG cats. LOL)

I had a cat who would go banana's over my inhaler caps. They would disappear, thought to be gone forever, but I found his stash when we moved house. He was a really clever Ragdoll cross, but so silly sometimes lol.

Ah, what great fun. Those Gingers! Even though their markings are different, Walter shares many facial expressions and body language of my late baby boy Squeak. Also a Ginger, but with short hair. Lost him October 4th back in ‘19, after our having an incredibly good life together for going on 18 years. I love cats, across the board, all of them, but Walter is definitely a very special lad. Nearly every day, he shows an expression shared with Squeak. Long ago another Ginger adopted me (they both showed up, out of the blue, out of the forest, and made it clear that I was now theirs. That little orange Manx was also a hoot, filled with love and zaniness. Thanks for sharing so much with us. Thanks and be well. Oh, and an extra ear skritch for Walter.
