LG VX5500 for Verizon Review

- In this video I review the LG VX5500 (sometimes known as just the 5500) cell phone for Verizon Wireless. You can get it for free with a contract from Verizon here: bit.ly/d159r3 It also is available for $50 (most of the time for less) as a Pay As You Go model.
Nice review. I had this phone in High School and recently found it and became nostalgic. I was just looking around Google for videos on the phone and came across this one without looking at who made it. I had no idea it was Austin until I scrolled down lol.
Actually I had to write that out myself haha. It took about three hours, so I really don't think I'll be doing it again...but I'm glad you like it.

If I were you I would go for a Droid or Nexus One, you just can't go wrong with those (as long as you like Android).
I don't know, for a little flip phone it's not bad but that's just my opinion. Thanks.

I had this phone for 2yrs. Good basic solid phone. It never let me down once. Just changed to a different one 2dys ago.
i found one of these but for telus. still works perfectly and looks new
I do have a VX5500 But The Problem with it I Charge it last night but it won’t turn on some times It will show the Verizon Logo And it’s Turns Off is there any idea how to Fix it
It's not fun to downgrade, but it's hard to argue with saving money. Seems like nowadays everyone makes you get an expensive data plan with every phone haha.

i have had 4 phones of thsi kind since 2008. and the 4th one just broke today. i am SO happy this phone is discontinued..
This Verizon lg was the best lg flipphones they had

I'm looking for info on how to retrive photos from this model phone. I found one my Mother had many years ago and it has photos of Her and my Dad and they have both passed away . i've tried bitpim program but keep getting an " MSVCP71.DLL MISSING " error.
I understand this video is close to 10 years old but maybe someone might see this and have info to help.

i had this phone for my 10th B-DAY. and t was my first phone, and when i looked at it i was like BEST PHONE EVER!!!! but after like 5 months it starts getting boring, and u want a new one. i had the vx5500 since jan 20 2009 til sept 7 2010. then i got the SAMSUNG REALITY. now that phone is beast. and the vx5500 was chewed by my dog, fell into pool TWICE!!! and dropped...lol srry vx5500 ^_^

Thanks haha. I don't know...if there was a way that I could do it faster I would, but honestly writing it out took longer than making the video lol.
@JABZzify Sounds like it might just have died. You should take it to Verizon and see if they know what's going on, they might fix it for free or get it running easy.
To be honest I could be happy with a phone from any of the main carriers (AT&T iPhone, Verizon Droid, T-Mobile Nexus One, Sprint Pre) but I can't argue that Verizon has a lot of great phones, and they have the best service hands down IMO.

yep just got it on friday last week. im very happy with it except for battery life... but all smart phones dont have a great battery life...

This phone sucks. Its so hard finding a free driver download for it. I've been trying to get my pictures onto my computer without emailing them for months!

Good review!!! That was the first phone I ever had (when I was 10) but now I'm 13 and have an iPhone (: but the phone really I good but I dropped mine in a puddle while walking through a parking lot and the water damage was really bad so I got a LG Voyager, then a LG cosmos touch, now a iPhone (:
Thanks for the extensive review - been looking for an emergency phone (travel thru the mountains and desert) but don't want to switch from current carrier. This sounds great, especially for prepaid......5 star review = 5 str rt'g
